DOUAI-RHEIMSNEW AMERICAN BIBLE
The Lord said to my Lord: Sit thou at my right hand: Until I make thy enemies thy footstool.1 A psalm of David. The LORD says to you, my lord: "Take your throne at my righthand, while I make your enemies your footstool."
The Lord will send forth the sceptre of thy power out of Sion: rule thou in the midst of thy enemies.2 The scepter of your sovereign might the LORD will extend from Zion. The LORD says: "Rule over your enemies!
With thee is the principality in the day of thy strength: in the brightness of the saints: from the womb before the day star I begot thee.3 Yours is princely power from the day of your birth. In holy splendor before the daystar, like the dew I begot you."
The Lord hath sworn, and he will not repent: Thou art a priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedech.4 The LORD has sworn and will not waver: "Like Melchizedek you are a priest forever."
The Lord at thy right hand hath broken kings in the day of his wrath.5 At your right hand is the Lord, who crushes kings on the day of wrath,
He shall judge among nations, he shall fill ruins: he shall crush the heads in the land of the many.6 Who, robed in splendor, judges nations, crushes heads across the wide earth,
He shall drink of the torrent in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.7 Who drinks from the brook by the wayside and thus holds high the head.
