And there shall be horns at the four corners of the same: and thou shalt cover it with brass.2 At the four corners there are to be horns, so made that they spring directly from the altar. You shall then plate it with bronze.
And thou shalt make for the uses thereof pans to receive the ashes, and tongs and fleshhooks, and firepans: all its vessels thou shalt make of brass.3 Make pots for removing the ashes, as well as shovels, basins, forks and fire pans, all of which shall be of bronze.
And a grate of brass in manner of a net: at the four corners of which shall be four rings of brass,4 Make a grating of bronze network for it; this to have four bronze rings, one at each of its four corners.
Which thou shalt put under the hearth of the altar: and the grate shall be even to the midst of the altar.5 Put it down around the altar, on the ground. This network is to be half as high as the altar.
Thou shalt make also two bars for the altar of setim wood, which thou shalt cover with plates of brass:6 You shall also make poles of acacia wood for the altar, and plate them with bronze.
And thou shalt draw them through rings, and they shall be on both sides of the altar to carry it.7 These poles are to be put through the rings, so that they are on either side of the altar when it is carried.
Thou shalt not make it solid, but empty and hollow in the inside, as it was shewn thee in the mount.8 Make the altar itself in the form of a hollow box, just as it was shown you on the mountain.
Thou shalt make also the court of the tabernacle, in the south side whereof southward there shall be hangings of fine twisted linen of a hundred cubits long for one side.9 "You shall also make a court for the Dwelling. 12 But in the breadth of the court, that looketh to the west, there shall be hangings of fifty cubits, and ten pillars, and as many sockets.12 On the west side, across the width of the court, there shall be hangings, fifty cubits long, with ten columns and ten pedestals.
In that breadth also of the court, which looketh to the east, there shall be fifty cubits.13 The width of the court on the east side shall be fifty cubits.
In which there shall be for one side hangings of fifteen cubits, and three pillars and as many sockets.14 On one side there shall be hangings to the extent of fifteen cubits, with three columns and three pedestals;
And in the other side there shall be hangings of fifteen cubits, with three pillars and as many sockets.15 on the other side there shall be hangings to the extent of fifteen cubits, with three columns and three pedestals.
And in the entrance of the court there shall be made a hanging of twenty cubits of violet and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine twisted linen, with embroidered work: it shall have four pillars with as many sockets.16 "At the entrance of the court there shall be a variegated curtain, twenty cubits long, woven of violet, purple and scarlet yarn and of fine linen twined. It shall have four columns and four pedestals.
All the pillars of the court round about shall be garnished with plates of silver, silver heads and sockets of brass.17 "All the columns around the court shall have bands and hooks of silver, and pedestals of bronze.
In length the court shall take up a hundred cubits, in breadth fifty, the height shall be of five cubits, and it shall be made of fine twisted linen, and shall have sockets of brass.18 The enclosure of the court is to be one hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide, and five cubits high. 20 Command the children of Israel that they bring thee the purest oil of the olives, and beaten with a pestle: that a lamp may burn always,20 "You shall order the Israelites to bring you clear oil of crushed olives, to be used for the light, so that you may keep lamps burning regularly.
In the tabernacle of the testimony without the veil that hangs before the testimony. And Aaron and his sons shall order it, that it may give light before the Lord until the morning. It shall be a perpetual observance throughout their successions among the children of Israel.21 From evening to morning Aaron and his sons shall maintain them before the LORD in the meeting tent, outside the veil which hangs in front of the commandments. This shall be a perpetual ordinance for the Israelites throughout their generations.
