Isaia 50

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Così ha detto il Signore: Dove è la lettera del divorzio di vostra madre, per la quale io l’abbia mandata via? ovvero, chi è colui de’ miei creditori, a cui io vi abbia venduti? Ecco, voi siete stati venduti per le vostre iniquità, e la madre vostra è stata mandata via per li vostri misfatti.	1 Thus says Yahweh: Where is your mother's writ of divorce by which I repudiated her? Or to which ofmy creditors have I sold you? Look, you have been sold for your own misdeeds, your mother was repudiated foryour acts of rebel ion.
2 Perchè, essendo io venuto, non si è trovato alcuno? Ed avendo io chiamato, niuno ha risposto? È forse la mia mano per alcuna maniera accorciata, da non poter riscuotere? O non vi è egli in me forza alcuna, da poter liberare? Ecco, col mio sgridare io secco il mare, io riduco i fiumi in deserto, sì che il pesce loro diventa puzzolente, per mancamento di acqua, essendo morto di sete.	2 Why was there no one there when I came? Why did no one answer when I cal ed? Is my hand too shortto redeem? Have I not strength to save? Look, with a threat I can dry the sea, and turn rivers to desert; the fishin them go rotten for want of water and die of thirst.
3 Io rivesto i cieli di caligine, e metto un cilicio per lor coverta	3 I dress the heavens in black, I cover them in sackcloth.
4 IL Signore Iddio mi ha data la lingua de’ dotti, per saper parlare opportunamente allo stanco; egli mi desta ogni mattina l’orecchio, per udire come i dotti.	4 Lord Yahweh has given me a disciple's tongue, for me to know how to give a word of comfort to theweary. Morning by morning he makes my ear alert to listen like a disciple.
5 Il Signore Iddio mi ha aperto l’orecchio, ed io non sono stato ribello, non mi son tratto indietro.	5 Lord Yahweh has opened my ear and I have not resisted, I have not turned away.
6 Io ho porto il mio corpo a’ percotitori, e le mie guance a quelli che mi strappavano i capelli; io non ho nascosta la mia faccia dalle onte, nè dallo sputo.	6 I have offered my back to those who struck me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; I have notturned my face away from insult and spitting.
7 Ma il Signore Iddio è stato in mio aiuto; perciò, non sono stato confuso; perciò, ho resa la mia faccia simile ad un macigno, e so che non sarò svergognato.	7 Lord Yahweh comes to my help, this is why insult has not touched me, this is why I have set my facelike flint and know that I shal not be put to shame.
8 Colui che mi giustifica è prossimo; chi contenderà meco? presentiamoci pure amendue insieme; chi è mio avversario? accostisi pure a me.	8 He who grants me saving justice is near! Who wil bring a case against me? Let us appear in courttogether! Who has a case against me? Let him approach me!
9 Ecco, il Signore Iddio è in mio aiuto; chi mi condannerà? ecco, tutti coloro saran logorati come un vestimento; la tignuola li roderà	9 Look, Lord Yahweh is coming to my help! Who dares condemn me? Look at them, al fal ing apart likemoth-eaten clothes!
10 Chi è colui, d’infra voi, che tema il Signore, che ascolti la voce del suo Servitore? Benchè cammini in tenebre, e non abbia chiarezza alcuna, pur confidisi nel Nome del Signore, ed appoggisi sopra l’Iddio suo.	10 Which of you fears Yahweh and listens to his servant's voice? Which of you walks in darkness andsees no light? Let him trust in the name of Yahweh and lean on his God!
11 Ecco, voi tutti che accendete del fuoco, e vi attorniate di faville, camminate alla luce del vostro fuoco, ed alle faville che avete accese. Questo vi è avvenuto dalla mia mano; voi giacerete in tormento	11 Look, al you who light a fire and arm yourselves with firebrands, walk by the light of your fire and thefirebrands you have kindled! This is what you will get from me: you wil lie down in torment!
