1 Salmo di Davide, composto quando egli fuggi’ per cagione d’Absalom, suo figliuolo O SIGNORE, in quanto gran numero sono i miei nemici! Molti si levano contro a me.	1 LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
2 Molti dicono dell’anima mia: Non v’è salute alcuna appo Iddio per lui. Sela.	2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
3 Ma, Signore, tu sei uno scudo d’intorno a me; Tu sei la mia gloria, e quel che mi sollevi il capo	3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
4 Io ho colla mia voce gridato al Signore, Ed egli mi ha risposto dal monte della sua santità. Sela.	4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
5 Io mi son coricato, e ho dormito; Poi mi son risvegliato; perciocchè il Signore mi sostiene.	5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
6 Io non temerei di migliaia di popolo, Quando si fossero accampate contro a me d’ogn’intorno.	6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
7 Levati, Signore; salvami, Dio mio; perciocchè tu hai percossa la mascella di tutti i miei nemici; Tu hai rotti i denti degli empi.	7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8 Il salvare appartiene al Signore; La tua benedizione è sopra il tuo popolo. Sela	8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
