1 И когда я приходил к вам, братия, приходил возвещать вам свидетельство Божие не в превосходстве слова или мудрости,	1 Now when I came to you, brothers, I did not come with any brilliance of oratory or wise argument toannounce to you the mystery of God.
2 ибо я рассудил быть у вас незнающим ничего, кроме Иисуса Христа, и притом распятого,	2 I was resolved that the only knowledge I would have while I was with you was knowledge of Jesus, andof him as the crucified Christ.
3 и был я у вас в немощи и в страхе и в великом трепете.	3 I came among you in weakness, in fear and great trembling
4 И слово мое и проповедь моя не в убедительных словах человеческой мудрости, но в явлении духа и силы,	4 and what I spoke and proclaimed was not meant to convince by philosophical argument, but todemonstrate the convincing power of the Spirit,
5 чтобы вера ваша [утверждалась] не на мудрости человеческой, но на силе Божией.	5 so that your faith should depend not on human wisdom but on the power of God.
6 Мудрость же мы проповедуем между совершенными, но мудрость не века сего и не властей века сего преходящих,	6 But stil , to those who have reached maturity, we do talk of a wisdom, not, it is true, a philosophy of thisage or of the rulers of this age, who will not last long now.
7 но проповедуем премудрость Божию, тайную, сокровенную, которую предназначил Бог прежде веков к славе нашей,	7 It is of the mysterious wisdom of God that we talk, the wisdom that was hidden, which God predestinedto be for our glory before the ages began.
8 которой никто из властей века сего не познал; ибо если бы познали, то не распяли бы Господа славы.	8 None of the rulers of the age recognised it; for if they had recognised it, they would not have crucifiedthe Lord of glory;
9 Но, как написано: не видел того глаз, не слышало ухо, и не приходило то на сердце человеку, что приготовил Бог любящим Его.	9 but it is as scripture says: What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what the mind of man cannotvisualise; al that God has prepared for those who love him;
10 А нам Бог открыл [это] Духом Своим; ибо Дух все проницает, и глубины Божии.	10 to us, though, God has given revelation through the Spirit, for the Spirit explores the depths ofeverything, even the depths of God.
11 Ибо кто из человеков знает, что в человеке, кроме духа человеческого, живущего в нем? Так и Божьего никто не знает, кроме Духа Божия.	11 After al , is there anyone who knows the qualities of anyone except his own spirit, within him; and inthe same way, nobody knows the qualities of God except the Spirit of God.
12 Но мы приняли не духа мира сего, а Духа от Бога, дабы знать дарованное нам от Бога,	12 Now, the Spirit we have received is not the spirit of the world but God's own Spirit, so that we mayunderstand the lavish gifts God has given us.
13 что и возвещаем не от человеческой мудрости изученными словами, но изученными от Духа Святаго, соображая духовное с духовным.	13 And these are what we speak of, not in the terms learnt from human philosophy, but in terms learntfrom the Spirit, fitting spiritual language to spiritual things.
14 Душевный человек не принимает того, что от Духа Божия, потому что он почитает это безумием; и не может разуметь, потому что о сем [надобно] судить духовно.	14 The natural person has no room for the gifts of God's Spirit; to him they are folly; he cannot recognisethem, because their value can be assessed only in the Spirit.
15 Но духовный судит о всем, а о нем судить никто не может.	15 The spiritual person, on the other hand, can assess the value of everything, and that person's valuecannot be assessed by anybody else.
16 Ибо кто познал ум Господень, чтобы [мог] судить его? А мы имеем ум Христов.	16 For: who has ever known the mind of the Lord? Who has ever been his adviser? But we are thosewho have the mind of Christ.
