EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Después vi en la mano derecha de aquel que estaba sentado en el trono un libro escrito por dentro y por fuera, y sellado con siete sellos.	1 I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who sat on the throne. It had writing on both sides and was sealed with seven seals.
2 Y vi a un Angel poderoso que proclamaba en alta voz: «¿Quién es digno de abrir el libro y de romper sus sellos?».	2 Then I saw a mighty angel who proclaimed in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?"
3 Pero nadie, ni en el cielo ni en la tierra ni debajo de ella, era capaz de abrir el libro ni de leerlo.	3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to examine it.
4 Y yo me puse a llorar porque nadie era digno de abrir el libro ni de leerlo.	4 I shed many tears because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to examine it.
5 Pero uno de los Ancianos me dijo: «No llores: ha triunfado el León de la tribu de Judá, el Retoño de David, y él abrirá el libro y sus siete sellos».	5 One of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. The lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed, enabling him to open the scroll with its seven seals."
6 Entonces vi un Cordero que parecía haber sido inmolado: estaba de pie entre el trono y los cuatro Seres Vivientes, en medio de los veinticuatro Ancianos. Tenía siete cuernos y siete ojos, que son los siete Espíritus de Dios enviados a toda la tierra.	6 Then I saw standing in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures and the elders, a Lamb that seemed to have been slain. He had seven horns and seven eyes; these are the (seven) spirits of God sent out into the whole world.
7 El Cordero vino y tomó el libro de la mano derecha de aquel que estaba sentado en el trono.	7 He came and received the scroll from the right hand of the one who sat on the throne.
8 Cuando tomó el libro, los cuatro Seres Vivientes y los veinticuatro Ancianos se postraron ante el Cordero. Cada uno tenía un arpa, y copas de oro llenas de perfume, que son las oraciones de los Santos,	8 When he took it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones.
9 y cantaban un canto nuevo, diciendo: «Tú eres digno de tomar el libro y de romper los sellos, porque has sido inmolado, y por medio de tu Sangre, has rescatado para Dios a hombres de todas las familias, lenguas, pueblos y naciones.	9 They sang a new hymn: "Worthy are you to receive the scroll and to break open its seals, for you were slain and with your blood you purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue, people and nation.
10 Tú has hecho de ellos un Reino sacerdotal para nuestro Dios, y ellos reinarán sobre la tierra».	10 You made them a kingdom and priests for our God, and they will reign on earth."
11 Y después oí la voz de una multitud de Angeles que estaban alrededor del trono, de los Seres Vivientes y de los Ancianos. Su número se contaba por miles y millones,	11 I looked again and heard the voices of many angels who surrounded the throne and the living creatures and the elders. They were countless in number,
12 y exclamaban con voz potente: «El Cordero que ha sido inmolado es digno de recibir el poder y la riqueza, la sabiduría, la fuerza y el honor, la gloria y la alabanza».	12 and they cried out in a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength, honor and glory and blessing."
13 También oí que todas las criaturas que están en el cielo, sobre la tierra, debajo de ella y en el mar, y todo lo que hay en ellos, decían: «Al que está sentado sobre el trono y al Cordero, alabanza, honor, gloria y poder, por los siglos de los siglos».	13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, everything in the universe, cry out: "To the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor, glory and might, forever and ever."
14 Los cuatro Seres Vivientes decían: «¡Amén!», y los Ancianos se postraron en actitud de adoración.	14 The four living creatures answered, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.
