Josué 16

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 La parte que tocó en suerte a los hijos de José se extendía desde el Jordán, a la altura de Jericó, hasta las aguas de Jericó, por el este; luego venía el desierto, que desde Jericó sube por la montaña hasta Betel;	1 And the lot of the sons of Joseph fell from the Jordan over against Jericho and the waters thereof, on the east: the wilderness which goeth up from Jericho to the mountain of Bethel:
2 siguiendo de Betel hasta Luz, pasaba por Atarot, o sea por el territorio de los arquitas;	2 And goeth out from Bethel to Luza: and passeth the border of Archi, to Ataroth,
3 después bajaba al oeste, hacia el territorio de los iafletitas, hasta la región de Bet Jorón de Abajo y hasta Guézer, y terminaba en el mar,	3 And goeth down westward, by the border of Jephleti, unto the borders of Beth-horon the nether, and to Gazer :and the countries of it are ended by the great sea:
4 Esta es la parte que recibieron como herencia Manasés y Efraím, los hijos de José.	4 And Manasses and Ephraim the children of Joseph possessed it.
5 El territorio correspondiente a los clanes de los efraimitas fue el siguiente: el límite de su herencia, por el lado oriental, era Atarot Adar hasta Bet Jorón de Arriba,	5 And the border of the children of Ephraim was according to their kindreds: and their possession towards the east was Ataroth-addar unto Beth-horon the upper.
6 y llegaba hasta el mar. Al norte estaba Micmetat, y al este, el límite doblaba hacia Taanat Silo, pasando al este de Ianóaj.	6 And the confines go out unto the sea: but Machmethath looketh to the north, and it goeth round the borders eastward into Thanath-selo: and passeth along on the east side to Janoe.
7 Después bajaba de Ianóaj a Atarot y a Naará, y tocaba Jericó, para terminar en el Jordán.	7 And it goeth down from Janoe into Ataroth and Naaratha: and it cometh to Jericho, and goeth out to the Jordan.
8 Desde Tapúaj, la frontera iba hacia el oeste por el torrente de Caná, y terminaba en el mar. Esta es la herencia asignada a los clanes de los efraimitas,	8 From Taphua it passeth on towards the sea into the valley of reeds, and the goings out thereof are at the most salt sea. This is the possession of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.
9 además de las ciudades distribuidas a ellos dentro de las posesiones de los hijos de Manasés, todas las ciudades con sus poblados.	9 And there were cities with their villages separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the possession of the children of Manasses.
10 Pero ellos no pudieron desposeer a los cananeos que habitaban en Guézer, y por eso siguen viviendo en medio de Efraím hasta el día de hoy, aunque tienen que pagar tributo.	10 And the children of Ephraim slew not the Chanaanite, who dwelt in Gazer: and the Chanaanite dwelt in the midst of Ephraim until this day, paying tribute.
