Ezequiel 29

1 El décimo año, el día doce del décimo mes, la palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:	1 On the twelfth day of the tenth month in the tenth year, the word of the LORD came to me:
2 Hijo de hombre, vuelve tu rostro contra el Faraón, rey de Egipto, y profetiza contra él y contra todo Egipto.	2 Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.
3 Habla y di: Así habla el Señor: Aquí estoy contra ti, Faraón, rey de Egipto, enorme dragón recostado en el cauce de sus Nilos, que dices: «El Nilo me pertenece, yo mismo me lo hice».	3 Say this to him: Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt, Great crouching monster amidst your Niles: Who say, "The Niles are mine; it is I who made them!"
4 Yo te pondré garfios en las mandíbulas, pegaré a tus escamas los peces de tus Nilos y te sacaré fuera de sus corrientes, con todos los peces de tus Nilos pegados a tus escamas.	4 I will put hooks in your jaws and make the fish of your Niles stick to your scales, then draw you up from the midst of your Niles along with all the fish of your Niles sticking to your scales.
5 Te arrojaré en el desierto, a ti y a todos los peces de tus Nilos; quedarás tendido en pleno campo y no serás recogido ni enterrado. Te daré como pasto a las bestias de la tierra y a los pájaros del cielo.	5 I will cast you into the desert, you and all the fish of your Niles; You shall fall upon the open field, you shall not be taken up or buried; To the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air I give you as food,
6 Entonces todos los habitantes de Egipto sabrán que yo soy el Señor. Porque tú has sido un apoyo de caña para la casa de Israel:	6 That all who dwell in Egypt may know that I am the LORD. Because you have been a reed staff for the house of Israel:
7 apenas te agarraban, te partías y les desgarrabas toda la mano; cuando se apoyaban en ti, te quebrabas y hacías vacilar todos sus miembros.	7 When they held you in hand, you splintered, throwing every shoulder out of joint; When they leaned on you, you broke, bringing each one of them down headlong;
8 Por eso, así habla el Señor: Yo traigo contra ti una espada, y extirparé de ti a hombres y animales.	8 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: See! I will bring the sword against you, and cut off from you both man and beast.
9 La tierra de Egipto será una desolación y una ruina, y ellos sabrán que yo soy el Señor. Por haber dicho: «El Nilo me pertenece, yo mismo me lo hice»,	9 The land of Egypt shall become a desolate waste; thus they shall know that I am the LORD. Because you said, "The Niles are mine; it is I who made them,"
10 por eso, aquí estoy contra ti y contra tus Nilos. Dejaré a la tierra de Egipto desolado y en ruinas, desde Migdol hasta Siene, y hasta la frontera de Cus.	10 therefore see! I am coming at you and against your Niles; I will make the land of Egypt a waste and a desolation from Migdol to Syene, and even to the frontier of Ethiopia.
11 Ningún pie humano transitará por ella, ningún pie de animal la cruzará, y estará deshabitada durante cuarenta años.	11 No foot of man or beast shall pass through it; they shall not pass through it, and it will be uninhabited for forty years.
12 Yo haré de la tierra de Egipto la más desolada entre las tierras desoladas, y sus ciudades serán una desolación entre las ciudades en ruinas, durante cuarenta años. Dispersaré a los egipcios entre las naciones y los diseminaré por los países.	12 I will make the land of Egypt the most desolate of lands, and its cities shall be the most deserted of cities for forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and strew them over foreign lands.
13 Porque así habla el Señor: Al cabo de cuarenta años, reuniré a los egipcios de entre los pueblos en los que habían sido dispersados.	13 Yet thus says the Lord GOD: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they are scattered,
14 Cambiaré la suerte de Egipto y los haré volver a la tierra de Patrós, su país de origen. Allí serán un reino humilde,	14 and I will restore Egypt's fortune, bringing them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin, where it will be the lowliest
15 el más humilde de los reinos, y Egipto ya no se levantará por encima de las naciones. Yo mismo lo haré pequeño, para que no pueda dominar a las naciones.	15 of kingdoms, never more to set itself above the nations. I will make them few, that they may not dominate the nations.
16 Ya no ofrecerá una falsa seguridad a la casa de Israel, ni hará que se le recuerde un delito, por haber ido detrás de él. Así se sabrá que yo soy el Señor.	16 No longer shall they be for the house of Israel to trust in, but the living reminder of its guilt for having turned to follow after them. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
17 El año vigesimoséptimo, el día primero del primer mes, la palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:	17 On the first day of the first month in the twenty-seventh year, the word of the LORD came to me:
18 Hijo de hombre, Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, ha exigido de su ejército un gran esfuerzo contra Tiro. Todas las cabezas han quedado rapadas y todas las espaldas llagadas, pero él no ha logrado de Tiro, ni para sí ni para su ejército, ninguna recompensa por el esfuerzo realizado.	18 Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, has led his army in an exhausting campaign against Tyre. Their heads became bald and their shoulders were galled; but neither he nor his army received any wages from Tyre for the campaign he led against it.
19 Por eso, así habla el Señor: Voy a entregar la tierra de Egipto al rey de Babilonia. El se llevará sus riquezas, saqueará sus despojos y se apoderará del botín, que servirá de recompensa para su ejército.	19 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I am now giving the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. He shall carry off its riches, plundering and pillaging it for the wages of his soldiers, who did it for me;
20 En retribución por el esfuerzo realizado contra Tiro, yo le entrego la tierra de Egipto, porque ellos trabajaron para mí –oráculo del Señor–.	20 as payment for his toil I have given him the land of Egypt, says the Lord GOD.
21 Aquel día, yo acrecentaré la fuerza de la casa de Israel, y haré que tú puedas hablar libremente en medio de ellos. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.	21 On that day I will make a horn sprout for the house of Israel, and I will cause you to speak out in their midst; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
