Jeremías 33

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 La palabra del Señor llegó a Jeremías por segunda vez, mientras todavía estaba detenido en el patio de la guardia, en estos términos:	1 Jeremiah was stil confined to the Court of the Guard when the word of Yahweh came to him a secondtime, as follows,
2 Así habla el Señor que hizo la tierra y la formó para que subsistiera –¡su nombre es el Señor!–:	2 'Yahweh who made the earth, who formed it and set it firm -- Yahweh is his name -- says this,
3 Invócame y yo te responderé, y te anunciaré cosas grandes e impenetrables, que tú no conocías.	3 "Call to me and I wil answer you; I wil tell you great secrets of which you know nothing.
4 Porque así habla el Señor, el Dios de Israel, acerca de las casas de esta ciudad y de las casas de los reyes de Judá, derribadas para levantar terraplenes y empalizadas,	4 For this is what Yahweh, God of Israel, says about the houses of this city and the palaces of the kingsof Judah which are about to be destroyed by means of the earthworks and the sword;
5 a fin de combatir a los caldeos y llenar la ciudad con los cadáveres de los hombres que yo herí en mi ira y en mi furor, porque oculté mi rostro a esta ciudad a causa de todas sus maldades:	5 about those now fighting the Chaldaeans, only to fill the city with corpses, those whom I haveslaughtered in my furious anger, those whose wickedness has made me hide my face from this city:
6 Yo voy a cicatrizar su llaga y la voy a sanar; los sanaré y les descubriré tesoros de paz y seguridad.	6 Look, I shal bring them remedy and cure; I shal cure them and reveal a new order of peace and loyaltyto them.
7 Cambiaré la suerte de Judá y la suerte de Israel, y los reconstruiré como al principio.	7 I shal bring back the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel and shal rebuild them as before.
8 Los purificaré de toda la iniquidad con que pecaron contra mí, les perdonaré todas las iniquidades con que pecaron y se rebelaron contra mí.	8 I shal cleanse them of al their guilt, by which they have offended me, I shal forgive al their guiltyactions, by which they have offended me and rebelled against me.
9 Jerusalén será para mí un nombre gozoso, un honor y una gloria, entre todas las naciones de la tierra, que oirán todo el bien que yo les hago: ellas temerán y temblarán por todo el bienestar y toda la paz que les concedo.	9 And, for me, Jerusalem wil become a name of joy and praise and pride for all the nations on earth tosee; when they hear of al the prosperity that I shal give, they wil be seized with fear and trembling at al theprosperity and the peace that I provide for it."
10 Así habla el Señor: En este lugar del que ustedes dicen: «Está desierto, sin hombres ni animales», en las ciudades de Judá y en las calles de Jerusalén, que están devastadas, sin hombres ni habitantes ni animales, se oirá de nuevo	10 'Yahweh says this, "In this place of which you now say: It is a ruin, without human or animal, in thetowns of Judah and desolate streets of Jerusalem where there is neither human nor animal, once more wil beheard
11 el grito de alegría y el grito de júbilo, el canto del esposo y el canto de la esposa, y el canto de los que dicen, mientras presentan el sacrificio de alabanza en la Casa del Señor: «Den gracias al Señor de los ejércitos, porque es bueno el Señor, porque es eterno su amor». Sí, yo cambiaré la suerte de este país, y será como al principio, dice el Señor.	11 shouts of rejoicing and mirth, the voices of bridegroom and bride, and the singing of those who bringthanksgiving sacrifices to the Temple of Yahweh: Give thanks to Yahweh Sabaoth, for Yahweh is good, for hisfaithful love is everlasting. For I shal bring back the country's captives, as before, Yahweh says."
12 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: En este lugar que está desierto, sin hombres ni animales, y en todas sus ciudades, habrá de nuevo un redil donde los pastores harán descansar a sus rebaños.	12 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In this ruinous place, without human or animal, in al its towns, onceagain there wil be pastures for the shepherds to rest their flocks.
13 En todas las ciudades de la Montaña, en las ciudades de la Sefelá, en las ciudades del Négueb, en el país de Benjamín, en los alrededores de Jerusalén y en las ciudades de Judá, las ovejas pasarán de nuevo bajo las manos del que las recuenta, dice el Señor.	13 In the towns of the highlands, of the lowlands and the Negeb, in the territory of Benjamin, in thedistricts round Jerusalem and in the towns of Judah, once again the flocks shal pass under the hand ofsomeone who counts them, Yahweh says.
14 Llegarán los días –oráculo del Señor– en que yo cumpliré la promesa que pronuncié acerca de la casa de Israel y la casa de Judá:	14 "Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shal fulfil the promise of happiness I made tothe House of Israel and the House of Judah:
15 En aquellos días y en aquel tiempo, haré brotar para David un germen justo, y él practicará la justicia y el derecho en el país.	15 In those days and at that time, I shal make an upright Branch grow for David, who wil do what is just and upright in the country.
16 En aquellos días, estará a salvo Judá y Jerusalén habitará segura. Y la llamarán así: «El Señor es nuestra justicia».	16 In those days Judah will triumph and Israel live in safety. And this is the name the city will be cal ed:Yahweh-is-our-Saving-Justice."
17 Porque así habla el Señor: Nunca le faltará a David un sucesor que se siente en el trono de la casa de Israel.	17 'For Yahweh says this, "David wil never lack a male descendant to occupy the throne of the House ofIsrael,
18 Y a los sacerdotes levitas nunca les faltará un descendiente que esté delante de mi para ofrecer el holocausto, hacer quemar la oblación y presentar el sacrificio cada día.	18 nor will the levitical priests ever lack male descendants to stand before me and offer the burntoffering, to burn the cereal offering and offer sacrifice every day." '
19 La palabra del Señor llegó a Jeremías en estos términos:	19 The word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah as fol ows,
20 Así habla el Señor: Si ustedes pueden romper mi alianza con el día y mi alianza con la noche, de manera que el día y la noche no aparezcan más a su tiempo,	20 'Yahweh says this, "If you could break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night sothat day and night do not come at their due time,
21 entonces también se romperá mi alianza con mi servidor David, de manera que no tenga más un hijo que reine sobre su trono, y mi alianza con los sacerdotes levitas, mis ministros.	21 then my covenant with David my servant might also be broken and he would have no son to reign onhis throne, and so also might my covenant with the levitical priests, who are my ministers.
22 Así como no se puede contar el ejército del cielo, ni medir la arena del mar, así multiplicaré la descendencia de David, mi servidor, y a los levitas, que son mis ministros.	22 As surely as the array of heaven cannot be counted, nor the sand of the sea be measured, so surelyshall I increase the heirs of David my servant and the Levites who minister to me." '
23 La palabra del Señor llegó a Jeremías en estos términos:	23 The word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah as fol ows,
24 ¿No ves lo que dice esta gente: «A las dos familias que había elegido, el Señor las ha rechazado»? Así desprecian a mi pueblo, y ya no lo consideran una nación.	24 'Have you not noticed what these people say, "The two families which Yahweh chose he has nowrejected"? So they despise my people, whom they no longer think of as a nation.
25 Así habla el Señor: Si yo no establecí mi alianza con el día y con la noche, si no fijé el ordenamiento del cielo y de la tierra,	25 Yahweh says this, "If I have not created day and night and fixed the laws governing heaven and earth,
26 entonces también rechazaré a la descendencia de Jacob y de David, mi servidor, no tomando de ella jefes para el linaje de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob. Pero no, yo cambiaré su suerte y me compadeceré de ellos.	26 why, then I shal reject the descendants of Jacob and of David my servant and cease to choose rulersfrom his descendants for the heirs of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! For I shal bring back their captives and takepity on them." '
