Isaías 19

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 Oráculo sobre Egipto. ¡Miren al Señor que entra en Egipto, montado sobre una nube ligera! Ante él vacilan los ídolos de Egipto, y el corazón de Egipto se disuelve en su interior.	1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the Lord will ascend upon a lofty cloud, and he will enter into Egypt, and the false images of Egypt will be moved before his face, and the heart of Egypt will waste away in its midst.
2 Yo incitaré a egipcios contra egipcios y combatirán hermano contra hermano, amigo contra amigo, ciudad contra ciudad, reino contra reino.	2 And I will cause Egyptian to rush against Egyptian. And they will fight: a man against his brother, and a man against his friend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.
3 El espíritu de Egipto se desvanecerá en su interior, yo confundiré sus designios, y ellos consultarán a ídolos y encantadores, a nigromantes y adivinos.	3 And the spirit of Egypt will be ruptured to its very core. And I will cast down their plan violently. And they will seek answers from their false images, and their diviners, and those led by demons, and their seers.
4 Entregaré a los egipcios en manos de un amo implacable, y un rey cruel los dominará –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos–.	4 And I will deliver Egypt into the hand of cruel masters, and a strong king will dominate them, says the Lord, the God of hosts.
5 Las aguas del mar se secarán y el Río quedará árido y reseco;	5 And the waters of the sea will dry up, and the river will be desolate and dry.
6 los canales apestarán, los Nilos de Egipto bajarán hasta secarse, las cañas y los juncos se marchitarán.	6 And the rivers will fail. The streams of its banks will diminish and dry up. The reed and the bulrush will wither away.
7 Toda la vegetación de los bordes del Nilo y todas las plantas sembradas junto a él se secarán: serán arrasadas y desaparecerán.	7 The channel of the river will be stripped down to its source, and everything irrigated by it will dry up and wither and be no more.
8 Gemirán los pescadores, los que arrojan al anzuelo en el Nilo estarán de duelo, y desfallecerán los que echan la red sobre las aguas.	8 And the fishermen will grieve. And all who cast a hook into the river will mourn. And those who cast a net upon the surface of its waters will languish.
9 Los que trabajan el lino quedarán defraudados, las cardadoras y los tejedores se pondrán lívidos,	9 Those who work with linen, combing and weaving fine textiles, will be confounded.
10 sus tejedores se sentirán acongojados y todos los asalariados, afligidos.	10 And its irrigated places will begin to fail, with all those who make pools to take fish.
11 ¡Qué necios son los príncipes de Soán! ¡Los más sabios consejeros del Faraón forman un consejo de estúpidos! ¿Como pueden ustedes decir al Faraón: «Yo soy hijo de sabios, hijo de antiguos reyes»?	11 The leaders of Tanis are foolish. The wise counselors of Pharaoh have given foolish counsel. How can you say to Pharaoh: “I am the son of wisemen, the son of the kings of antiquity?”
12 ¿Dónde están tus sabios? ¡Vamos, que te anuncien y te den a conocer lo que el Señor de los ejércitos han proyectado contra Egipto!	12 Where are your wisemen now? Let them announce it to you, and let them reveal what the Lord of hosts intends for Egypt.
13 ¡Se han enloquecido los príncipes de Soán, se ilusionan los príncipes de Nof, las piedras angulares de sus tribus han extraviado a Egipto!	13 The leaders of Tanis have become foolish. The leaders of Memphis have decayed. They have deceived Egypt, the corner of its people.
14 El Señor ha derramado en medio de ellos un espíritu de vértigo, y ellos extravían a Egipto en todo lo que emprende, como pierde pie el borracho cuando vomita.	14 The Lord has mixed a spirit of giddiness into its midst. And they have caused Egypt to err in all its works, like a drunken man who staggers and vomits.
15 Y no será para provecho de Egipto nada de lo que hagan la cabeza y la cola, la palmera y el junco.	15 And there will be no work for Egypt that would produce a head or a tail, one who bows down or one who refrains from bowing down.
16 Aquel día, los egipcios serán como mujeres; temblarán y estarán aterrorizados ante la mano amenazadora del Señor de los ejércitos, que él agitará contra ellos.	16 In that day, Egypt will be like women, and they will be stupefied and fearful before the presence of the shaking hand of the Lord of hosts, the hand which he will move over them.
17 La tierra de Judá será el espanto de Egipto: cada vez que se la mencione, Egipto temblará a causa del designio que el Señor ha proyectado contra él.	17 And the land of Judah will be a dread to Egypt. Everyone who thinks about it will be terrified before the presence of the plan of the Lord of hosts, the plan which he has decided concerning them.
18 Aquel día, habrá en la tierra de Egipto cinco ciudades que hablarán la lengua de Canaán y jurarán por el Señor de los ejércitos; una de ellas se llamará Ciudad del Sol.	18 In that day, there will be five cities in the land of Egypt which speak the language of Canaan, and which swear by the Lord of hosts. One will be called the City of the Sun.
19 Aquel día, habrá un altar para el Señor en medio del país de Egipto, y una estela para el Señor junto a la frontera.	19 In that day, there will be an altar of the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt and a monument of the Lord beside its borders.
20 Esto servirá de señal y de testimonio para el Señor de los ejércitos en el país de Egipto. Cuando ellos clamen al Señor a causa de sus opresores, él les enviará un salvador y un defensor, para que los libre.	20 This shall be a sign and a testimony to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt. For they will cry out to the Lord before the face of the tribulation, and he will send them a savior and a defender who will free them.
21 El Señor se dará a conocer a los egipcios, y los egipcios conocerán al Señor en aquel día. Lo servirán con sacrificios y oblaciones; harán votos al Señor y los cumplirán.	21 And the Lord will be acknowledged by Egypt, and the Egyptians will recognize the Lord in that day, and they will worship him with sacrifices and gifts. And they will make vows to the Lord, and they will fulfill them.
22 El Señor herirá a Egipto, pero sólo para sanarlo. Ellos se volverán al Señor, y él los escuchará y los sanará.	22 And the Lord will strike Egypt with a scourge, and he will heal them. And they will return to the Lord. And he will be placated toward them, and he will heal them.
23 Aquel día, habrá un camino entre Egipto y Asiria: los asirios irán a Egipto, y los egipcios a Asiria; y Egipto rendirá culto junto con Asiria.	23 In that day, there will be a way from Egypt to the Assyrians, and the Assyrian will enter into Egypt, and the Egyptian will be with the Assyrians, and the Egyptians will serve Assur.
	24 In that day, will Israel be the third to the Egyptian and the Assyrian, a blessing in the midst of the earth,
	25 which the Lord of hosts has blessed, saying: Blessed be my people of Egypt, and the work of my hands for the Assyrian, but Israel is my inheritance.
