1 Estos son los jefes de familia, con su respectiva genealogía, que partieron conmigo de Babilonia, bajo el reinado de Artajerjes.	1 This is the list of the family heads who returned with me from Babylon during the reign of King Artaxerxes:
2 De los hijos de Pinjás: Gersón; de los hijos de Itamar: Daniel; de los hijos de David: Jatús,	2 Of the sons of Phinehas, Gershon; of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel; of the sons of David, Hattush,
3 hijo de Secanías; de los hijos de Parós: Zacarías, con el cual fueron registrados 150 hombres;	3 son of Shecaniah; of the sons of Parosh, Zechariah, and with him one hundred and fifty males were enrolled;
4 de los hijos de Pajat Moab: Elijonai, hijo de Zerajías, con 200 hombres;	4 of the sons of Pahath-moab, Eliehoenai, son of Zerahiah, and with him two hundred males;

15 Yo los reuní a orillas del río que va hacia Ahavá y allí acampamos durante tres días. Vi que había gente del pueblo y sacerdotes, pero no encontré ningún levita.	15 I had them assemble by the river that flows toward Ahava, where we made camp for three days. There I perceived that both laymen and priests were present, but I could not discover a single Levite.
16 Entonces llamé a los jefes Eliezer, Ariel, Semaías, Elnatán, Jarib, Elnatán, Natán, Zacarías y Mesulán, y a los instructores Joiarib y Elnatán,	16 Therefore I sent Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam, wise leaders,
17 y los envié a ver a Idó, jefe de Casifía, con la orden precisa de lo que debían decir a él y a sus hermanos que residían en esa localidad, a fin de que nos mandaran servidores para la Casa de nuestro Dios.	17 with a command for Iddo, the leader in the place Casiphia, instructing them what to say to Iddo and his brethren, and to the temple slaves in Casiphia, in order to procure for us ministers for the house of our God.
18 Gracias a que la mano bondadosa de nuestro Dios estaba sobre nosotros, ellos nos enviaron un hombre muy capaz, llamado Serebías, de los hijos de Majlí, hijo de Leví, hijo de Israel, junto con sus hijos y sus hermanos: en total, dieciocho hombres.	18 They sent to us--for the favoring hand of our God was upon us--a well-instructed man, one of the sons of Mahli, son of Levi, son of Israel, namely Sherebiah, with his sons and brethren, eighteen men.
19 Además, nos enviaron a Jasabías, de los hijos de Merarí, junto con su hermano Isaías y con sus hijos: en total, veinte hombres;	19 They also sent us Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah, sons of Merari, and their brethren and their sons, twenty men.

21 Allí, a orillas del río Ahavá, proclamé un ayuno, para humillarnos delante de nuestro Dios, a fin de pedirle un feliz viaje para nosotros y nuestros hijos y para todos nuestros bienes.	21 Then I proclaimed a fast, there by the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God to petition from him a safe journey for ourselves, our children, and all our possessions.
22 Porque hubiera sido vergonzoso pedir al rey gente armada y jinetes, para que nos protegieran en el camino contra el enemigo. Al contrario, nosotros habíamos dicho al rey: «La mano de nuestro Dios se extiende para bendecir a todos los que lo buscan, y su poder y su ira caen sobre todos los que lo abandonan».	22 For I would have been ashamed to ask the king for troops and horsemen to protect us against enemies along the way, since we had said to the king, "The favoring hand of our God is upon all who seek him, but his mighty wrath is against all who forsake him."
23 Así ayunamos e invocamos a nuestro Dios, y él nos escuchó.	23 So we fasted, and prayed to our God for this, and our petition was granted.
24 Después tomé aparte a doce de los jefes de los sacerdotes, y además a Serebías y a Jasabías, junto con diez de sus hermanos;	24 Next I selected twelve of the priestly leaders along with Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brethren,
25 y pesé delante de ellos la plata, el oro y los utensilios, que el rey, sus consejeros y sus funcionarios y todos los israelitas residente allí, habían ofrecido para la Casa de nuestro Dios.	25 and I weighed out before them the silver and the gold and the utensils offered for the house of our God by the king, his counselors, his officials, and all the Israelites of that region.
26 Pesé y puse en sus manos seiscientos cincuenta talentos de plata, utensilios de plata por valor de cien talentos, cien talentos de oro,	26 I consigned it to them in these amounts: silver, six hundred and fifty talents; silver utensils, one hundred; gold, one hundred talents;
27 veinte copas de oro de mil dáricos y dos vasos de bronce bruñido tan preciosos como el oro.	27 twenty golden bowls valued at a thousand darics; two vases of excellent polished bronze, as precious as gold.
28 Luego les dije: «Ustedes están consagrados al Señor; estos utensilios son sagrados; esta plata y este oro son una ofrenda voluntaria para el Señor, el Dios de nuestros padres.	28 I addressed them in these words: "You are consecrated to the LORD, and the utensils are also consecrated; the silver and the gold are a free-will offering to the LORD, the God of your fathers.
29 Guárdenlos cuidadosamente, hasta que los pesen delante de los jefes de los sacerdotes y de los levitas, y delante de los jefes de familia de Israel, en las habitaciones de la Casa del Señor en Jerusalén».	29 Keep good watch over them till you weigh them out in Jerusalem in the presence of the chief priests and Levites and the family leaders of Israel, in the chambers of the house of the LORD."
30 Los sacerdotes y los levitas recibieron la plata, el oro y los utensilios que habían sido pesados, para trasladarlos a Jerusalén, a la Casa de nuestro Dios.	30 The priests and the Levites then took over the silver, the gold, and the utensils that had been weighed out, to bring them to Jerusalem, to the house of our God.
31 El día doce del primer mes, partimos de las orillas del río Ahavá para ir a Jerusalén. La mano de nuestro Dios está sobre nosotros, y él nos presentó durante la marcha de los ataques enemigos y de las emboscadas.	31 We set out for Jerusalem from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month. The hand of our God remained upon us, and he protected us from enemies and bandits along the way.

33 El cuarto día, fueron pesados la plata, el oro y los utensilios en la Casa de nuestro Dios, y se entregó todo al sacerdote Meremot, hijo de Urías, y a Eleazar, hijo de Pinjás, junto a los cuales estaban los levitas Josabad, hijo de Josué, y Noadías, hijo de Binuí.	33 On the fourth day, the silver, the gold, and the utensils were weighed out in the house of our God and consigned to the priest Meremoth, son of Uriah, who was assisted by Eleazar, son of Phinehas; they were assisted by the Levites Jozabad, son of Jeshua, and Noadiah, son of Binnui.

36 Y se entregaron los decretos del rey a los sátrapas y gobernadores de la región de este lado del Eufrates, los cuales presentaron su apoyo al pueblo y a la Casa de Dios.	36 Finally, the orders of the king were presented to the king's satraps and to the governors in West-of-Euphrates, who gave their support to the people and to the house of God.
