1 Cuatrocientos ochenta años después que los israelitas salieron del país de Egipto, en el cuarto año del reinado de Salomón sobre Israel, en el mes de Ziv –que es el segundo mes– Salomón comenzó a construir la Casa del Señor.	1 Then it happened that, in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel departed from the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of the reign of Solomon over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, the house of the Lord began to be built.
2 La Casa que el rey Salomón construyó para el Señor tenía treinta metros de largo, veinte de ancho y quince de alto.	2 Now the house, which king Solomon was building to the Lord, was sixty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in width, and thirty cubits in height.
3 El vestíbulo, frente a la nave central del Templo, medía diez metros de largo, cubriendo todo el ancho de la Casa, y cinco metros de ancho, sobre el frente de la Casa.	3 And a portico was before the temple, of twenty cubits in length, in accord with the measure of the width of the temple. And it had ten cubits of width before the face of the temple.
4 A la Casa le puso ventanas con marcos y enrejados.	4 And he made oblique windows in the temple.
5 Y adosado al muro de la Casa, edificó un anexo que rodeaba los muros de la Casa, alrededor de la nave central y del lugar santísimo, donde hizo los pisos laterales.	5 And upon the wall of the temple, he built panels on all sides, in the walls of the house around the temple and the oracle. And he made side chambers all around.
6 El piso bajo medía dos metros de ancho; el piso intermedio, dos metros y medio de ancho; el tercero, tres metros de ancho, porque había hecho unas cornisas alrededor de la Casa, para no empotrar las vigas en los muros de la Casa.	6 The flooring on the bottom level held five cubits in width, and the middle floor was six cubits in width, and the third floor held seven cubits in width. Then he positioned beams on the house all around the outside, in such a way that they would not be fastened to the walls of the temple.
7 Cuando fue construida la Casa, se la edificó con piedras ya preparadas en la cantera; así no se oyó en la Casa ruido ni martillos, ni de picos, ni de ninguna otra herramienta durante su construcción.	7 Now the house, while it was being built, was made from cut and finished stones. And so, neither mallet, nor chisel, nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built.
8 La entrada del piso lateral inferior estaba ubicada hacia el lado derecho de la Casa, y por una escalera caracol se subía al piso intermedio, y de este al tercero.	8 The door at the side of the middle section was to the right of the house. And they would ascend along winding stairs to the middle level, and from the middle level to the third level.
9 Cuando Salomón terminó de construir la Casa, la revistió de un artesonado con paneles y armadura de cedro.	9 And he built the house, and finished it. And he overlaid the house with boards of cedar.
10 El anexo lo construyó adosado a toda la Casa; tenía dos metros y medio de altura, y estaba unido a la Casa con maderas de cedro.	10 And he built a paneling over the entire house, five cubits in height, and he covered the house with cedar wood.
11 La palabra del Señor llegó a Salomón en estos términos:	11 And the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying:
12 «En atención a esta Casa que estás construyendo, si tú caminas según mis preceptos, si practicas mis leyes y observas mis mandamientos, obrando de acuerdo con ellos, yo cumpliré mi palabra acerca de ti, la que dije a tu padre David:	12 “Concerning this house, which you are building: if you will walk in my precepts, and carry out my judgments, and keep all my commandments, advancing by them, I will confirm my word to you, which I spoke to your father David.
13 habitaré en medio de los israelitas y no abandonaré a mi pueblo Israel».	13 And I will dwell in the midst of the sons of Israel, and I will not forsake my people Israel.”
14 Cuando Salomón terminó de construir la Casa,	14 And so, Solomon built the house, and finished it.
15 revistió sus muros interiores con planchas de cedro, desde el suelo de la Casa hasta los postes del artesonado; revistió de madera el interior y recubrió el suelo de la Casa con planchas de ciprés.	15 And he built the walls of the house, on the interior, with panels of cedar, from the floor of the house, to the top of the walls, and even to the ceiling. He covered it with cedar wood on the interior. And he overlaid the floor of the house with panels of spruce.
16 Los diez metros del fondo de la Casa los revistió con planchas de cedro, desde el suelo hasta los postes, y reservó ese espacio interior para el lugar santísimo, el Santo de los santos.	16 And he built panels of cedar, of twenty cubits, at the back part of the temple, from the floor even to the top. And he made the inner house of the oracle as the Holy of Holies.
17 La Casa, es decir, la nave central delante del lugar santísimo, medía veinte metros.	17 And the temple itself, before the doors of the oracle, was forty cubits.
18 El cedro del interior de la Casa tenía bajorrelieves en forma de coloquíntidas y de pimpollos. Era todo de cedro y no se veían las piedras.	18 And the entire house was clothed with cedar on the interior, having its turnings and junctures artfully wrought, with carvings projecting outward. Everything was clothed with panels of cedar. And no stone at all was able to be seen in the wall.
19 En el fondo de la Casa, en lo más interior, dispuso el lugar santísimo para poner allí el Arca de la Alianza del Señor.	19 Now he made the oracle in the middle of the house, in the inner part, so that he might station the ark of the covenant of the Lord there.
20 Delante del lugar santísimo –que tenía diez metros de largo, diez de ancho y diez de alto, y que Salomón había recubierto de oro puro– se encontraba el altar revestido de cedro.	20 And the oracle held twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in width, and twenty cubits in height. And he covered and clothed it with the purest gold. Then, too, he clothed the altar in cedar.
21 Salomón recubrió de oro fino el interior de la Casa e hizo pasar cadenas de oro por delante del lugar santísimo, al que revistió de oro.	21 Also, the house before the oracle, he covered with the purest gold, and he fastened the plates with nails of gold.
22 Toda la Casa la recubrió íntegramente de oro, y también recubrió de oro el altar para el lugar santísimo.	22 And there was nothing in the temple that was not covered with gold. Moreover, the entire altar of the oracle he overlaid with gold.
23 En el lugar santísimo hizo dos querubines de madera de olivo; cada uno medía cinco metros de altura.	23 And he made in the oracle two cherubim from wood of the olive tree, of ten cubits in height.
24 Las alas de primer querubín medían dos metros y medio cada una, de manera que había cinco metros desde el extremo de una de sus alas hasta el extremo de la otra.	24 One wing of a cherub was five cubits, and the other wing of a cherub was five cubits, that is, having ten cubits from the summit of one wing even to the summit of the other wing.
25 El segundo querubín medía también cinco metros; los dos querubines tenían la misma dimensión y la misma forma:	25 Likewise, the second cherub was ten cubits. And the measure was equal and the work was one, in the two cherubim,
26 uno y otro medían cinco metros de altura.	26 that is, one cherub had a height of ten cubits, and similarly the second cherub.
27 Salomón puso los querubines en medio del recinto interior. Estos tenían las alas desplegadas: un ala del primer querubín tocaba el muro y un ala del segundo tocaba el muro opuesto; y las alas extendidas hacia el centro de la Casa se tocaban una con otra.	27 And he stationed the cherubim in the middle of the inner temple. And the cherubim extended their wings, and the wing of the one was touching the wall, and the wing of the second cherub was touching the other wall. But the other wings, in the middle of the temple, were touching each another.
28 También a los querubines los revistió de oro.	28 He also overlaid the cherubim with gold.
29 Alrededor de todos los muros de la Casa, hizo cincelar figuras de querubines, de palmeras y pimpollos, tanto en el interior como en el exterior del lugar santísimo.	29 And all the walls of the temple all around he engraved with diverse carvings and turnings. And he made in them cherubim, and palm trees, and various images, as if these were projecting out, and going forth from, the wall.
30 Y revistió de oro el suelo de la Casa, dentro y fuera del lugar santísimo.	30 Then, too, the floor of the house he overlaid with gold within and without.
31 A la entrada del lugar santísimo, hizo unas puertas de madera de olivo; el dintel y los postes tenían forma pentagonal.	31 And at the entrance of the oracle, he made little doors, from wood of the olive tree, with posts of five corners.
32 Sobre las dos hojas de madera de olivo, hizo cincelar querubines, palmeras y pimpollos; revistió de oro las puertas, y aplicó oro laminado sobre los querubines y las palmeras.	32 And there were two doors, from wood of the olive tree. And he carved upon them pictures of cherubim, and images of palm trees, and very prominent figures. And he overlaid these with gold. And he covered the cherubim, as well as the palm trees and the other things, with gold.
33 Lo mismo hizo para la entrada de la nave central: hizo un marco de madera de olivo, de forma cuadrangular,	33 And he made, at the entrance of the temple, posts from wood of the olive tree, with four corners,
34 y dos puertas de madera de ciprés, cada una con dos hojas giratorias.	34 and two doors, from wood of the spruce tree, on the other side. And each door was double, and so it opened by folding upon itself.
35 Hizo esculpir querubines, palmeras y pimpollos, y los revistió de oro, bien aplicado a los relieves.	35 And he carved cherubim, and palm trees, and very prominent engravings. And he covered everything with gold plates, worked to be perfectly square.
36 Luego edificó el patio interior, con tres hileras de piedras talladas y una hilera de tablas de cedro.	36 And he built the inner atrium with three rows of polished stones, and one row of cedar wood.
37 En el cuarto año, en el mes de Ziv, se pusieron los fundamentos de la Casa del Señor.	37 In the fourth year, the house of the Lord was founded, in the month of Ziv.
38 En el año undécimo, en el mes de Bul –que es el octavo mes–, fue terminada la Casa en todos sus detalles y conforme al proyecto. Siete años tardó Salomón para terminarla.	38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was perfected in all its works and in all its equipment. And he built it for seven years.
