Efesios 3

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Por lo cual yo, Pablo, el prisionero de Cristo por vosotros los gentiles...	1 It is because of this that I, Paul, a prisoner of the Lord Jesus on behalf of you gentiles. . .
2 si es que conocéis la misión de la gracia que Dios me concedió en orden a vosotros:	2 You have surely heard the way in which God entrusted me with the grace he gave me for your sake;
3 cómo me fue comunicado por una revelación el conocimiento del Misterio, tal como brevemente acabo de exponeros.	3 he made known to me by a revelation the mystery I have just described briefly-
4 Según esto, leyéndolo podéis entender mi conocimiento del Misterio de Cristo;	4 a reading of it wil enable you to perceive my understanding of the mystery of Christ.
5 Misterio que en generaciones pasadas no fue dado a conocer a los hombres, como ha sido ahora revelado a sus santos apóstoles y profetas por el Espíritu:	5 This mystery, as it is now revealed in the Spirit to his holy apostles and prophets, was unknown tohumanity in previous generations:
6 que los gentiles sois coherederos, miembros del mismo Cuerpo y partícipes de la misma Promesa en Cristo Jesús por medio del Evangelio,	6 that the gentiles now have the same inheritance and form the same Body and enjoy the same promisein Christ Jesus through the gospel.
7 del cual he llegado a ser ministro, conforme al don de la gracia de Dios a mí concedida por la fuerza de su poder.	7 I have been made the servant of that gospel by a gift of grace from God who gave it to me by theworkings of his power.
8 A mí, el menor de todos los santos, me fue concedida esta gracia: la de anunciar a los gentiles la inescrutable riqueza de Cristo,	8 I, who am less than the least of all God's holy people, have been entrusted with this special grace, ofproclaiming to the gentiles the unfathomable treasure of Christ
9 y esclarecer cómo se ha dispensado el Misterio escondido desde siglos en Dios, Creador de todas las cosas,	9 and of throwing light on the inner workings of the mystery kept hidden through al the ages in God, theCreator of everything.
10 para que la multiforme sabiduría de Dios sea ahora manifestada a los Principados y a las Potestades en los cielos, mediante la Iglesia,	10 The purpose of this was, that now, through the Church, the principalities and ruling forces should learnhow many-sided God's wisdom is,
11 conforme al previo designio eterno que realizó en Cristo Jesús, Señor nuestro,	11 according to the plan which he had formed from al eternity in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 quien, mediante la fe en él, nos da valor para llegarnos confiadamente a Dios.	12 In him we are bold enough to approach God in complete confidence, through our faith in him;
13 Por lo cual os ruego no os desaniméis a causa de las tribulaciones que por vosotros padezco, pues ellas son vuestra gloria.	13 so, I beg you, do not let the hardships I go through on your account make you waver; they are yourglory.
14 Por eso doblo mis rodillas ante el Padre,	14 This, then, is what I pray, kneeling before the Father,
15 de quien toma nombre toda familia en el cielo y en la tierra,	15 from whom every fatherhood, in heaven or on earth, takes its name.
16 para que os conceda, según la riqueza de su gloria, que seáis fortalecidos por la acción de su Espíritu en el hombre interior,	16 In the abundance of his glory may he, through his Spirit, enable you to grow firm in power with regardto your inner self,
17 que Cristo habite por la fe en vuestros corazones, para que, arraigados y cimentados en el amor,	17 so that Christ may live in your hearts through faith, and then, planted in love and built on love,
18 podáis comprender con todos los santos cuál es la anchura y la longitud, la altura y la profundidad,	18 with al God's holy people you wil have the strength to grasp the breadth and the length, the heightand the depth;
19 y conocer el amor de Cristo, que excede a todo conocimiento, para que os vayáis llenando hasta la total Plenitud de Dios.	19 so that, knowing the love of Christ, which is beyond knowledge, you may be fil ed with the utterful ness of God.
20 A Aquel que tiene poder para realizar todas las cosas incomparablemente mejor de lo que podemos pedir o pensar, conforme al poder que actúa en nosotros,	20 Glory be to him whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine;
21 a él la gloria en la Iglesia y en Cristo Jesús por todas las generaciones y todos los tiempos. Amén.	21 glory be to him from generation to generation in the Church and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever.Amen.
