1 Corintios 7

1 En cuanto a lo que me habéis escrito, bien le está al hombre abstenerse de mujer.	1 Now concerning the thing whereof you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
2 No obstante, por razón de la impureza, tenga cada hombre su mujer, y cada mujer su marido.	2 But for fear of fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
3 Que el marido dé a su mujer lo que debe y la mujer de igual modo a su marido.	3 Let the husband render the debt to his wife, and the wife also in like manner to the husband.
4 No dispone la mujer de su cuerpo, sino el marido. Igualmente, el marido no dispone de su cuerpo, sino la mujer.	4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband. And in like manner the husband also hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
5 No os neguéis el uno al otro sino de mutuo acuerdo, por cierto tiempo, para daros a la oración; luego, volved a estar juntos, para que Satanás no os tiente por vuestra incontinencia.	5 Defraud not one another, except, perhaps, by consent, for a time, that you may give yourselves to prayer; and return together again, lest Satan tempt you for your incontinency.
6 Lo que os digo es una concesión, no un mandato.	6 But I speak this by indulgence, not by commandment.
7 Mi deseo sería que todos los hombres fueran como yo; mas cada cual tiene de Dios su gracia particular: unos de una manera, otros de otra.	7 For I would that all men were even as myself: but every one hath his proper gift from God; one after this manner, and another after that.
8 No obstante, digo a los célibes y a las viudas: Bien les está quedarse como yo.	8 But I say to the unmarried, and to the widows: It is good for them if they so continue, even as I.
9 Pero si no pueden contenerse, que se casen; mejor es casarse que abrasarse.	9 But if they do not contain themselves, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to be burnt.
10 En cuanto a los casados, les ordeno, no yo sino el Señor: que la mujer no se separe del marido,	10 But to them that are married, not I but the Lord commandeth, that the wife depart not from her husband.
11 mas en el caso de separarse, que no vuelva a casarse, o que se reconcilie con su marido, y que el marido no despida a su mujer.	11 And if she depart, that she remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband. And let not the husband put away his wife.
12 En cuanto a los demás, digo yo, no el Señor: Si un hermano tiene una mujer no creyente y ella consiente en vivir con él, no la despida.	12 For to the rest I speak, not the Lord. If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she consent to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
13 Y si una mujer tiene un marido no creyente y él consiente en vivir con ella, no le despida.	13 And if any woman hath a husband that believeth not, and he consent to dwell with her, let her not put away her husband.
14 Pues el marido no creyente queda santificado por su mujer, y la mujer no creyente queda santificada por el marido creyente. De otro modo, vuestros hijos serían impuros, mas ahora son santos.	14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the believing wife; and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the believing husband: otherwise your children should be unclean; but now they are holy.
15 Pero si la parte no creyente quiere separarse, que se separe, en ese caso el hermano o la hermana no están ligados: para vivir en paz os llamó el Señor.	15 But if the unbeliever depart, let him depart. For a brother or sister is not under servitude in such cases. But God hath called us in peace.
16 Pues ¿qué sabes tú, mujer, si salvarás a tu marido? Y ¿qué sabes tú, marido, si salvarás a tu mujer?	16 For how knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband ? Or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife ?
17 Por lo demás, que cada cual viva conforme le ha asignado el Señor, cada cual como le ha llamado Dios. Es lo que ordeno en todas las Iglesias.	17 But as the Lord hath distributed to every one, as God hath called every one, so let him walk: and so in all churches I teach.
18 ¿Que fue uno llamado siendo circunciso? No rehaga su prepucio. ¿Que fue llamado siendo incircunciso? No se circuncide.	18 Is any man called, being circumcised ? let him not procure uncircumcision. Is any man called in uncircumcision ? let him not be circumcised.
19 La circuncisión es nada, y nada la incircuncisión; lo que importa es el cumplimiento de los mandamientos de Dios.	19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing: but the observance of the commandments of God.
20 Que permanezca cada cual tal como le halló la llamada de Dios.	20 Let every man abide in the same calling in which he was called.
21 ¿Eras esclavo cuando fuiste llamado? No te preocupes. Y aunque puedas hacerte libre, aprovecha más bien tu condición de esclavo.	21 Wast thou called, being a bondman ? care not for it; but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.
22 Pues el que recibió la llamada del Señor siendo esclavo, es un liberto del Señor; igualmente, el que era libre cuando recibió la llamada, es un esclavo de Cristo.	22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a bondman, is the freeman of the Lord. Likewise he that is called, being free, is the bondman of Christ.
23 ¡Habéis sido bien comprados! No os hagáis esclavos de los hombres.	23 You are bought with a price; be not made the bondslaves of men.
24 Hermanos, permanezca cada cual ante Dios en el estado en que fue llamado.	24 Brethren, let every man, wherein he was called, therein abide with God.
25 Acerca de la virginidad no tengo precepto del Señor. Doy, no obstante, un consejo, como quien, por la misericordia de Dios, es digno de credito.	25 Now concerning virgins, I have no commandment of the Lord; but I give counsel, as having obtained mercy of the Lord, to be faithful.
26 Por tanto, pienso que es cosa buena, a causa de la necesidad presente, quedarse el hombre así.	26 I think therefore that this is good for the present necessity, that it is good for a man so to be.
27 ¿Estás unido a una mujer? No busques la separación. ¿No estás unido a mujer? No la busques.	27 Art thou bound to a wife ? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife ? seek not a wife.
28 Mas, si te casas, no pecas. Y, si la joven se casa, no peca. Pero todos ellos trendrán su tribulación en la carne, que yo quisiera evitaros.	28 But if thou take a wife, thou hast not sinned. And if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned: nevertheless, such shall have tribulation of the flesh. But I spare you.
29 Os digo, pues, hermanos: El tiempo es corto. Por tanto, los que tienen mujer, vivan como si no la tuviesen.	29 This therefore I say, brethren; the time is short; it remaineth, that they also who have wives, be as if they had none;
30 Los que lloran, como si no llorasen. Los que están alegres, como si no lo estuviesen. Los que compran, como si no poseyesen.	30 And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as if they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;
31 Los que disfrutan del mundo, como si no disfrutasen. Porque la apariencia de este mundo pasa.	31 And they that use this world, as if they used it not: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
32 Yo os quisiera libres de preocupaciones. El no casado se preocupa de las cosas del Señor, de cómo agradar al Señor.	32 But I would have you to be without solicitude. He that is without a wife, is solicitous for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please God.
33 El casado se preocupa de las cosas del mundo, de cómo agradar a su mujer;	33 But he that is with a wife, is solicitous for the things of the world, how he may please his wife: and he is divided.
34 está por tanto dividido. La mujer no casada, lo mismo que la doncella, se preocupa de las cosas del Señor, de ser santa en el cuerpo y en el esp1ritu. Mas la casada se preocupa de las cosas del mundo, de cómo agradar a su marido.	34 And the unmarried woman and the virgin thinketh on the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she that is married thinketh on the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
35 Os digo esto para vuestro provecho, no para tenderos un lazo, sino para moveros a lo más digno y al trato asiduo con el Señor, sin división.	35 And this I speak for your profit: not to cast a snare upon you; but for that which is decent, and which may give you power to attend upon the Lord, without impediment.
36 Pero si alguno teme faltar a la conveniencia respecto de su novia, por estar en la flor de la edad, y conviene actuar en consecuencia, haga lo que quiera: no peca, cásense.	36 But if any man think that he seemeth dishonoured, with regard to his virgin, for that she is above the age, and it must so be: let him do what he will; he sinneth not, if she marry.
37 Mas el que ha tomado una firme decisión en su corazón, y sin presión alguna, y en pleno uso de su libertad está resuelto en su interior a respetar a su novia, hará bien.	37 For he that hath determined being steadfast in his heart, having no necessity, but having power of his own will; and hath judged this in his heart, to keep his virgin, doth well.
38 Por tanto, el que se casa con su novia, obra bien. Y el que no se casa, obra mejor.	38 Therefore, both he that giveth his virgin in marriage, doth well; and he that giveth her not, doth better.
39 La mujer está ligada a su marido mientras él viva; mas una vez muerto el marido, queda libre para casarse con quien quiera, pero sólo en el Señor.	39 A woman is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband die, she is at liberty: let her marry to whom she will; only in the Lord.
40 Sin embargo, será feliz si permanece así según mi consejo; que también yo creo tener el Espíritu de Dios.	40 But more blessed shall she be, if she so remain, according to my counsel; and I think that I also have the spirit of God.
