Zaccaria 4

BIBBIA VOLGARE	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 E tornò l'angelo lo quale parlava a me, e isvegliommi, quasi come l' uomo che si sveglia del suo sonno.	1 And the angel who had been speaking with me returned, and he awakened me, like a man who is awakened from his sleep.
2 E disse a me: or che vedi tu? E io dissi : veggio uno candeliere, tutto d' oro, e la sua lampada sopra lo suo capo, e sette lucerne sue sopra quello, e sette vasi dentro delle lucerne le quali erano sopra il capo suo.	2 And he said to me, “What do you see?” And I said, “I looked, and behold, a candlestick entirely in gold, and its lamp was at its top, and seven oil lamps of it were upon it, and there were seven funnels for the oil lamps that were at its top.
3 E sopra quello erano due ulive, l' una dalla parte diritta della lampada, e l'altra dalla parte manca.	3 And there were two olive trees upon it: one to the right of the lamp, and one to its left.”
4 E rispuosi, e dissi all' angelo il quale parlava a me, e dissi: che cosa è questa, signor mio?	4 And I answered and spoke to the angel who was speaking with me, saying, “What are these, my lord?”
5 E l'angelo, che mi parlava, rispose e dissemi: or non sai tu, che sono queste cose? E io dissi: non, signor mio.	5 And the angel who was speaking with me answered, and he said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.”
6 Ed egli rispuose, e disse a me: questa è la parola di Dio, ch' egli dice a Zorobabel: non collo esercito, nè con fortezza, ma collo mio spirito, dice lo Signore delli esèrciti.	6 And he answered and spoke to me, saying: This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying: Not by an army, nor by might, but in my spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
7 E chi se' tu, monte grande, (e se') inanzi a Zorobabel? in piano; e menerà la prima pietra, e agguaglierà la grazia alla sua grazia.	7 What are you, great mountain, in the sight of Zerubbabel? You are among the plains. And he will lead out the primary stone, and he will give equal grace to its grace.
8 E fu fatta la parola di Dio a me, e disse:	8 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
9 Le mani di Zorobabel fondarono questa casa, e le sue mani la compieranno; e saprete che lo Signore delli esèrciti sì mandò me a voi.	9 The hand of Zerubbabel has founded this house, and his hands will complete it. And you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.
10 E chi fu quello che dispregiò li piccoli dì? E rallegraransi, e vedranno la pietra dello stagno in mano a Zorobabel. Questi sono li VII occhi del Signore, i quali discorrono nella universa terra.	10 For who has despised the little days? And they will rejoice and will see the silver and lead stone in the hand of Zerubbabel. These are the seven eyes of the Lord, which roam quickly through all the earth.
11 E io rispaosi, e dissi: che sono queste due ulive, che stanno l' una dalla parte ritta del candeliere, e l'altra dalla parte manca?	11 And I responded and said to him, “What are these two olive trees to the right of the candlestick, and to its left?”
12 E io rispuosi, e dissi la seconda volta a lui: che sono queste due spighe d' ulive, che istanno a lato due becchi d' oro, ne' quali sono due vasi d'oro?	12 And I responded a second time and said to him, “What are the two olive branches, which are next to the two golden ridges, in which are the pouring spouts of gold?”
13 E disse a me: or non sai tu, che sono queste cose? E io dissi: non, signore mio.	13 And he spoke to me, saying, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.”
14 Ed egli disse: questi sono due figliuoli (dello splendore) dell' olio, i quali istanno presenti inanzi al signoreggiatore di tutta la universa terra.	14 And he said, “These are the two sons of oil, who attend before the Sovereign of all the earth.”
