Ioel 3

1 Perciò ecco che in quello dì, e in quello tempo, quando io averò convertita (e rivolta) la cattività (cioè la prigionia) di Giuda e di Ierusalem,	1 For, behold, in those days and in that time, when I will have converted the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 io radunerò ogni gente, e menerolle nella valle di Iosafat; e con loro ivi disputerò sopra lo mio popolo e sopra la mia ereditade d' Israel, la quale loro feciono dispersa tra le nazioni, e divisono la terra mia.	2 I will gather all the Gentiles, and will lead them into the valley of Jehoshaphat. And there I will dispute with them over my people, and over Israel, my inheritance, for they have scattered them among the nations and have divided my land.
3 E gittarono le sorti sopra lo popolo mio, e misono lo fanciullo nel bordello, e venderono la fanciulla per lo vino, acciò che loro bevessino.	3 And they have cast lots over my people; and the boy they have placed in the brothel, and the girl they have sold for wine, so that they might drink.
4 Ma non pertanto, che mi fa a me, o tu, Tiro e Sidone, e tutti li termini de' Palestini? E renderetene voi vendetta a me? E se voi vi vendicherete contro a me, tosto velocemente io ve ne renderò la retribuzione sopra lo vostro capo.	4 Truly, what is there between you and me, Tyre and Sidon and all the distant places of the Philistines? How will you take vengeance on me? And if you were to revenge yourselves against me, I would deliver a repayment to you, quickly and soon, upon your head.
5 Portàstivene lo mio oro e lo mio argento; e le mie cose desiderabili e le mie belle cose facestivi vostre cose (truffatrice).	5 For you have carried away my silver and gold. And my desirable and most beautiful, you have taken into your shrines.
6 E li figliuoli di Giuda e di Ierusalem vendeste a' figliuoli de' Greci, per farli dilungare dalli loro confini.	6 And you, sons of Judah and sons of Jerusalem, you have sold the sons of the Greeks, so that you might drive them far from their own territory.
7 Ecco io li risusciterò di quello luogo, dove voi li vendesti; e farò venire la vostra retribuzione sopra lo vostro capo.	7 Behold, I will raise them up from the place into which you have sold them, and I will turn back your retribution on your own head.
8 E venderò li vostri figliuoli e vostre figliuole nelle mani de' figliuoli di Giuda, e venderannosi da loro alla gente de' Sabei dalla lunga, però che lo Signore hae parlato.	8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hands of the sons of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, a distant nation, for the Lord has spoken.
9 Gridate questo tra le genti, e santificate la battaglia, e risuscitate li robusti; e accendansi, e salgano suso tutti li uomini combattitori.	9 Proclaim this among the Gentiles: “Sanctify a war, raise up the strong. Approach, ascend, all men of war.
10 E spezzate li vostri aratri, e fatene coltelli; e le vostre zappe fate lance., E lo infermo dica: io sono forte.	10 Cut your ploughs into swords and your hoes into spears. Let the weak say, ‘For I am strong.’
11 Sforzatevi, e venite, voi tutte le genti de circuito, e radunatevi; ivi farà lo Signore giacere tutti li robusti tuoi.	11 Break out and advance, all nations of the world, and gather together. There the Lord will cause all your strong ones to meet death.”
12 Levinsi suso le genti, e iscendano nella valle di Iosafat; però ch' io sederò ivi per giudicare tutte le genti nel circuito.	12 Let them arise and ascend to the valley of Jehoshaphat. For there I will sit, so as to judge all the nations of the world.
13 Mettete fuori le falci, però che la ricolta è matura; venite ed empiete, però che lo canale è pieno, e li canali traboccano; però che la malizia loro sì è moltiplicata,	13 Send forth the sickles, because the harvest has matured. Advance and descend, for the press is full, the pressing room is overflowing. For their malice has been increasing.
14 cioè del popolo, però che presso è il dì del Signore nella valle della uccisione.	14 Nations, nations in the valley of being cut to pieces: for the day of the Lord fittingly takes place in the valley of being cut to pieces.
15 Lo sole e la luna sono oscurati, e le stelle ritrassono a sè lo suo splendore.	15 The sun and the moon have been darkened, and the stars have withdrawn their splendor.
16 E lo Signore ruggirà di Sion, e darà la voce sua di Ierusalem; e moverannosi li cieli e la terra; e lo Signore è speranza del popolo suo, e sarà fortezza de' figliuoli d' Israel.	16 And the Lord will roar from Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem. And the heavens and the earth will be moved. And the Lord will be the hope of his people and the strength of the sons of Israel.
17 E saprete ch' io sono lo vostro Signore Iddio, che abito nel mio santo monte [di Sion]; e Ierusalem sarà santa, e li stranieri non passeranno [per] quella più.	17 And you will know that I am the Lord your God, dwelling on Zion, my holy mountain. And Jerusalem will be holy, and strangers will not cross through it anymore.
18 In quello di li monti manderanno fuori la bellezza, e li colli abbonderanno di latte, e le acque andranno sopra tutti li rivi di Giuda; e della casa del Signore uscirà una fonte, e adacquerà lo torrente delle spine (cioè dello rosaio).	18 And it will happen, in that day, that the mountains will drip sweetness, and the hills will flow with milk. And the waters will pass through all the rivers of Judah. And a fountain will go forth from the house of the Lord, and it will irrigate the desert of thorns.
19 Ed Egitto sarà desolata, e Idumea (cioè quella contrada) sarà in deserto di perdizione; però che feciono (e adoperarono) cose inique nelli figliuoli di Giuda, e isparsono il sangue innocente nella loro terra.	19 Egypt will be in desolation, and Edom will be a wilderness destroyed, because of what they have unfairly done to the sons of Judah, and because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
20 E la Giudea (abiterà e) sarà abitata in eterno, e Ierusalem in sempiterno.	20 And Judea will be inhabited forever, and Jerusalem for generation upon generation.
21 E netterò lo sangue loro, lo quale non avea mondato; e lo Signore si abiterà in Sion.	21 And I will cleanse their blood, which I had not cleansed. And the Lord will remain in Zion.
