Osea 2

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Dite a' vostri fratelli: popolo mio; e alla vostra sorella: tu se' misericordia consecuta; (cioè a dire, come Iddio chiamò lo tuo figliuolo Non popolo mio, quando nacque, così dice ora lo contrario, che Iddio lo chiamò Popolo mio; così dice di quella sua figliuola ch' ebbe nome Sanza misericordia; e disse così, che si chiamasse e dicessesi che avesse misericordia).	1 But the Israelites wil become as numerous as the sands of the sea, which cannot be measured orcounted. In the very place where they were told, 'You are not my people,' they wil be told they are 'Children ofthe living God'.
2 Giudicate la vostra madre, giudicatela; però che non è mia moglie, e io non sono lo suo marito; lievi le sue fornicazioni dalla sua faccia, e li suoi adulterii del mezzo delle sue poppe;	2 The Judaeans and Israelites will be reunited and wil choose themselves a single head, and will spreadfar beyond their country, for great will be the Day of Jezreel!
3 acciò che forse non la spogli ignuda, e òrdinila (e compongala) secondo lo dì della sua natività; e pongala per isbandita, e òrdinila come terra sanza sentieri, e ch' io la uccida di sete.	3 Then call your brothers, 'My people', and your sisters, 'You have been pitied'.
4 E non averò misericordia de' suoi figliuoli, però che sono figliuoli di fornicazioni.	4 To court, take your mother to court! For she is no longer my wife nor am I her husband. She must eitherremove her whoring ways from her face and her adulteries from between her breasts,
5 Però che la loro madre commise fornicazione, e ora hae ricevuto confusione colei la quale li concepette; però che disse: (seguiterò e) anderò dirietro alli miei amatori, li quali danno a me lo pane e l'acqua e la lana e lo lino e l'olio e lo mio beveraggio.	5 or I shal strip her and expose her naked as the day she was born; I shall make her as bare as thedesert, I shall make her as dry as arid country, and let her die of thirst.
6 E però io farò la siepe delle spine nella tua via; e chiuderò con siepe le sue vie, e non le ritroverae.	6 And I shal feel no pity for her children since they are the children of her whorings.
7 E seguiterà li amatori suoi, e non li piglierà; e cercheralli, e non li troverae, e dirae: io voglio andare e ritornare al mio primo marito, però ch' io avea allora bene più ch' io non hoe ora.	7 Yes, their mother has played the whore, she who conceived them has disgraced herself by saying, 'Ishall chase after my lovers; they will assure me my keep, my wool, my flax, my oil and my drinks.'
8 Ella non seppe queste cose, però ch' io le diedi lo grano e lo vino e l' olio, e multiplicai l'argento e l'oro, lo quale fecero per Baal (cioè per quello idolo).	8 This is why I shal block her way with thorns, and wal her in to stop her in her tracks;
9 E però io mi convertirò, e piglierò lo grano mio nel suo tempo, e lo mio vino nel tempo suo, e peserò la mia lana e lo mio lino, le quali cose ricoprivano la sua vergogna.	9 then if she chases her lovers she wil not catch them, if she looks for them she wil not find them, andthen she wil say, 'I shal go back to my first husband, I was better off then than I am now;'
10 E ora rivelerò la sua stoltizia innanzi alla faccia de' suoi amatori; e niuno uomo [la] libererà della mia mano.	10 she had never realised before that I was the one who was giving her the grain, new wine and oil,giving her more and more silver and gold which they have spent on Baal!
11 E farò cessare ogni sua allegrezza, e la sua solennitade, ... e lo suo sabbato, e tutte le feste de' suoi tempi.	11 This is why I shal take back my grain when it is due and my new wine, when the season for it comes. Ishall withdraw my wool and my flax which were to cover her naked body,
12 E corromperò la sua vigna e lo suo fico, de' quali disse: queste sono le mie mercedi, le quali diedono a me li miei amatori; e porrolla nel bosco (a uno termine ch' è luogo pubblico), e mangeralla la bestia del campo.	12 and then display her infamy before her lovers' eyes- no one will take her from me then!
13 Visiterò sopra lei li dì (e lo tempo) di Baalim, nel quale tempo accendeva lo incenso, e ornava le sue orecchie e il suo petto, e andava dopo. li suoi amatori, e dimenticavasi di me, dice lo Signore.	13 I shal put an end to al her merrymaking, her festivals, her New Moons and her Sabbaths and al hersolemn feasts.
14 E però io li darò lo latte, e menerolla nello isbandeggiamento, e parlerò al suo cuore.	14 I shal make her vines and fig trees derelict of which she used to say, 'These are the pay my loversgave me.' I shal turn them into a jungle: wild animals wil feed on them.
15 E darolli li suoi lavori delle vigne di quello medesimo luogo, e la valle di Acor per aprirla (e metterla) in isperanza; e canterà ivi secondo i dì della sua gioventù, e secondo lo dì della sua ascensione della terra di Egitto.	15 I mean to make her pay for the feast-days on which she burnt incense to the Baals, when she trickedherself out in her earrings and necklaces to chase after her lovers, and forget me! -declares Yahweh.
16 E in quel dì sarà quello che dice Iddio: lo mio marito chiamerà me; e non mi chiamerà più Baali (cioè quello iddio).	16 But look, I am going to seduce her and lead her into the desert and speak to her heart.
17 E torrò via li nomi di Baali della sua bocca, e non si ricorderà più de' loro nomi.	17 There I shall give her back her vineyards, and make the Vale of Achor a gateway of hope. There shewil respond as when she was young, as on the day when she came up from Egypt.
18 E farò con loro lo patto in quello die, con la bestia del campo e con li uccelli del cielo e con ogni bestia della terra; e spezzerò l'arco e la battaglia e lo coltello della terra; e farolli dormire a fidanza (cioè sicuramente).	18 When that day comes- declares Yahweh- you wil cal me, 'My husband', no more wil you cal me, 'MyBaal'.
19 E sposerò te a me in sempiterno; [e sposerò te a me] per giustizia, e in giudicio e in misericordia.	19 I shal banish the names of the Baals from her lips and their name wil be mentioned no more.
20 E sposerommiti in fede; e saprai ch' io sono lo Signore.	20 When that day comes I shal make a treaty for them with the wild animals, with the birds of heavenand the creeping things of the earth; I shal break the bow and the sword and warfare, and banish them from thecountry, and I wil let them sleep secure.
21 E sarà in quello die, ch' io esaudirò te, dice Iddio; ed esaudirò li cieli, e loro esaudiranno la terra.	21 I shal betroth you to myself for ever, I shall betroth you in uprightness and justice, and faithful loveand tenderness.
22 E la terra esaudirà lo grano e lo vino e l'olio; e queste cose (lo vino e l'olio e il grano) esaudiranno Iezrael.	22 Yes, I shall betroth you to myself in loyalty and in the knowledge of Yahweh.
23 E seminerolla a me per terra; e averò misericordia ...	23 When that day comes, I shal respond -declares Yahweh- I shal respond to the heavens and they willrespond to the earth
24 E dirò a colui ch' ebbe nome Non popolo mio: tu se' lo popolo mio; ed egli dirà: tu se' lo mio Signore Iddio.	24 and the earth wil respond to the grain, the new wine and oil, and they wil respond to Jezreel.
	25 I shal sow her in the country to be mine, I shall take pity on Lo-Ruhamah, I shal tell Lo-Ammi, 'Youare my people,' and he will say, 'You are my God.'
