1 Ricòrdati, Signore, quello che c'è avvenuto; considera e guarda l' obbrobrio nostro.	1 Remember, O Lord, what is come upon us: consider and behold our reproach.
2 Ridutta è la nostra eredità alli alieni; le case nostre alli estranei.	2 Our inheritance is turned to aliens: our houses to strangers.
3 Siamo fatti pupilli senza padre; le nostre madri sono quasi vidue.	3 We are become orphans without a father: our mothers are as widows.
4 Abbiamo bevuta la nostra acqua per la pecunia; abbiamo comprate le nostre legna per prezzo.	4 We have drunk our water for money: we have bought our wood.
5 Eravamo minacciando con li capi; alli afflitti non si dava riposo.	5 We were dragged by the necks, we were weary and no rest was given us.
6 Noi dessimo mano all' Egitto e alli Assirii, acciò si satollassimo di pane.	6 We have given our hand to Egypt, and to the Assyrians, that we might be satisfied with bread.
7 Peccorono li padri nostri, e già non sono; e noi abbiamo portate le loro iniquità.	7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not: and we have borne their iniquities.
8 Ci sono signoreggiati li servi; non vi fu cui ci ricomprasse della loro mano.	8 Servants have ruled over us: there was none to redeem us out of their hand.
9 Nel deserto, in presenza del coltello, a noi portavamo il pane nelle nostre anime.	9 We fetched our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword in the desert.
10 Abbruciata è la nostra pelle a modo di fornace, dalla faccia della tempesta della fame.	10 Our skin was burnt as an oven, by reason of the violence of the famine.
11 Per forza hanno conosciuto le femine in Sion, e le vergini nelle città di Giuda.	11 They oppressed the women in Sion, and the virgins in the cities of Juda.
12 Si sono sospesi li principi con la mano; non si vergognorono le faccie de' vecchi.	12 The princes were hanged up by their hand: they did not respect the persons of the ancient.
13 Hanno impudica e disonestamente usato con li giovencioli; e hanno sospesi li fanciulli nel legno.	13 They abused the young men indecently: and the children fell under the wood.
14 Vennero a meno li vecchi dalle porte, li giovani dal coro de' cantanti.	14 The ancients have ceased from the gates: the young men from the choir of the singers.
15 Venuto è a meno il gaudio del cuore nostro; il nostro ordine del canto è rivoltato in lamentevole pianto.	15 The joy of our heart is ceased, our dancing is turned into mourning.
16 Caduta è la corona del capo nostro; guai a noi, imperò che abbiamo peccato!	16 The crown is fallen from our head woe to us, because we have sinned.
17 E però egli è fatto (tristo e) mesto il cuore nostro (nel dolore); e però si sono oscurati li nostri occhi,	17 Therefore is our heart sorrowful, therefore are our eyes become dim,
18 per il monte di Sion, imperò ch' egli è dissipato; si sono andate le volpi in quello.	18 For mount Sion, because it is destroyed, foxes have walked upon it.
19 Ma tu, Signore, permanerai in eterno; la tua sedia regale permanerà dalla generazione in generazione.	19 But thou, O Lord, shalt remain for ever, thy throne from generation to generation.
20 I perchè in perpetuo ti sei dismenticato di noi? ci abbandoni nella longhezza de' giorni?	20 Why wilt thou forget us for ever? why wilt thou forsake us for a long time?
21 Convertici, Signore, a te, e convertiremoci; rinnova li nostri giorni, come dal principio.	21 Convert us, O Lord, to thee, and we shall be converted: renew our days, as from the beginning.
22 Ma da te gittando ne hai scacciati; grandemente sei adirato contra di noi.	22 But thou hast utterly rejected us, thou art exceedingly angry against us.
