BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 A Moab questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d' Israel: guai sopra Nabo! poi ch' è guasta e confusa (e morrà); presa è Cariataim; confusa è la forte e si spaurì.	1 On Moab. Yahweh, God of Israel, says this: Wretched Nebo, for it has been ravaged, Kiriathaim hasbeen shamed and taken, shame and distraction on the citadel,
2 Non ci è più allegrezza in Moab; e pensarono male contro a Esebon. Venite, e scacciatela dalla gente. Adunque istando cheta tacerai, e lo coltello ti seguiterà.	2 the pride of Moab is no more! At Heshbon they plotted her downfal , 'Come, let us put an end to her asa nation!' And you too, inhabitants of Madmen, wil be silenced, the sword wil be after you.
3 La voce di romore di Oronaim: guastamento, e grande tritamento.	3 A cry of agony goes up from Horonaim, 'Devastation! Dire calamity.
4 È trita Moab; annunziate lo romore alli suoi piccolini.	4 Moab has been shattered,' the agonised cries of her little ones ring out.
5 Luit salio piagnendo per lo salimento nel pianto; però che nella descensione di Oronaim li nimici udirono urlo di contrizione:	5 Up the slope of Luhith, weeping they go. On the road down to Horonaim is heard the shriek of disaster,
6 Fuggite, salvate le vostre anime; e sarete quasi come [miriche] nel deserto.	6 'Away! Flee for your lives like the wild donkey into the desert!'
7 Però che avesti fidanza nelle tue armature e ne' tuoi tesori, tu in verità sarai presa; e Camos anderà in transmigrazione, e li suoi sacerdoti e' suoi principi insieme.	7 Yes, since you relied on your deeds and your wealth, you wil be captured too. Chemosh wil go intoexile, with al his priests and princes.
8 E verrà lo predatore ad ogni terra, e nulla terra sarà salvata; e le valli periranno, e li campi saranno (dipartiti e) sconciati; però che Iddio disse:	8 The despoiler wil descend on every town, not one will escape; the Valley wil be ravaged, the Plain beplundered as Yahweh has said.
9 Date lo fiore di Moab, per che di fuori uscirà; le sue cittadi saranno deserte e sanza abitazione.	9 Give Moab wings so that she can fly away, for her towns wil be laid in ruins where no one wil ever liveagain.
10 Maledetto lo uomo che fa l' opera del Signore Iddio fraudolentemente; e maledetto colui che vieta lo suo coltello del sangue.	10 (Accursed be he who does Yahweh's work negligently! Accursed be he who deprives his sword ofblood!)
11 Moab fu abbondante dalla sua fanciullezza, e riposossi nelle sue feci, e non è stato transmesso di vaso in vaso, e non andoe in transmigrazione; però rimase lo suo gusto in lui, e lo suo odore non è immutato.	11 From his youth Moab lived at ease, he settled on his lees, never having been decanted, never havinggone into exile: and so he kept his own flavour, his aroma was unchanged.
12 Però, ecco, li dì vegnono, dice Iddio, e manderò loro ordinatori e facitori di barili, e lo faranno stare a basso, e attigneranno li suoi vasi, e li suoi barili si romperanno.	12 And so the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shal send him decanters to decant him; theywil empty his pitchers and break his wine jars to bits.
13 E sarà confuso Moab da Camos, come è confusa la casa (sua) d' Israel da Betel, nella quale avea fidanza.	13 Moab wil be shamed by Chemosh then, as the House of Israel was shamed by Bethel in which theyput their trust.
14 O come dite voi: noi siamo forti uomini, e robusti a combattere?	14 How can you say, 'We are heroes, sturdy fighting men'?
15 Moab è guastata; e le sue cittadi assalirono, e li suoi eletti giovani discesero in occisione, disse lo re; lo Signore delli esèrciti è lo suo nome.	15 Moab has been ravaged, his cities scaled, the flower of his youth goes down to the slaughter,declares the King, whose name is Yahweh Sabaoth.
16 Presso è la morte di Moab per venire; lo suo male velocemente corre troppo.	16 Moab's ruin is coming soon, his downfal comes at top speed.
17 Consolate lui, voi tutti che siete nel suo circuito; e voi che sapete lo suo nome, sì dite: come è rotta la verga forte, e la mazza gloriosa?	17 Grieve for him, all you living near him, all you who knew his name. Say, 'How shattered it is, thatmighty rod, that splendid sceptre!'
18 Discendi (della forza) della gloria, e siedi nella sete, abitazione della figliuola di Dibon; però che lo guastatore di Moab verrà a te, e dissiperà le tue armadure.	18 Come down from your glory, sit on the parched ground, daughter of Dibon, for the despoiler of Moabhas advanced on you, he has destroyed your strongholds.
19 Istà nella via, e agguarda, abitazione di Aroer; addomanda quello che fugge, e a quello che è iscampato, die: che t'è avvenuto?	19 Stand by the roadside, keep watch, daughter of Aroer. Question fugitive and runaway, ask, 'What hashappened?'
20 Moab è confuso, però ch' egli è vinto; urlate e gridate, e annunziate in Arnon, però che guastato è Moab.	20 'Moab has been shattered and shamed. Wail and shriek! Shout along the Arnon, Moab has been laidwaste!'
21 E lo giudicio è venuto alla terra de' campi; sopra Elon e sopra Iasa e sopra Mefat,	21 Judgement has also come on the Plain, on Holon, Jahzah, Mephaath,
22 e sopra Dibon e sopra Nabo [e sopra] la casa del Deblataim,	22 Dibon, Nebo, Beth-Diblathaim,
23 e sopra Cariataim e sopra Beltgamul e sopra Betmaon,	23 Kiriathaim, Beth-Gamul, Beth-Meon,
24 e sopra Cariot e sopra Bosra e sopra tutte le cittadi della terra di Moab, le quali sono da lungi e appresso; (tutti questi sono nomi di terre).	24 Kerioth, Bozrah, and al the towns of Moab, far and near.
25 Lo corno di Moab sì è tagliato, e lo braccio suo confratto, dice Iddio.	25 Moab's horn has been cut off, his arm is broken, Yahweh declares.
26 Inebriatelo (del calice dell' ira di Dio), però che s'è levato contro Iddio; e percoterà la mano di Moab nel suo vomito (cioè nel suo rigettare), e anco sarà dato lui in derisione.	26 Make him drunk! He has set himself up against Yahweh; let Moab wal ow in his vomit and become alaughing-stock in his turn.
27 Fu anco iscorno a te, Israel, quasi come tu l'avessi trovato tra li latroni; adunque per le tue parole, le quali tu hai parlato contro a lui, sarai menato per prigione.	27 Was Israel not a laughing-stock to you? Was he caught red-handed with the thieves, for you to shakeyour head whenever you mention him?
28 Abbandonate le cittadi, e abitate nelle pietre. voi abitatori di Moab; siate quasi come la colomba, che istà nel nido in sommo alla bocca del forame.	28 Leave the towns, make the rocks your home, inhabitants of Moab. Learn from the dove that makes itsnest in the wal s of the gaping gorge.
29 Noi aviamo udito la superbia di Moab; egli è molto superbo; la sublimità sua e la arroganza e la superbia e l'altezza del suo cuore.	29 We have heard about Moab's pride, so very proud! What arrogance! What pride! What conceit! Whata haughty heart!
30 Dice Iddio: io so lo suo vanto e l' arroganza; non fia appo lei la sua virtude, appresso a quello che potea fare la fortezza.	30 -I know al about his presumption, Yahweh declares, his empty boasting, those empty deeds of his!
31 Però io mi lagnerò sopra Moab, e gridando dirò a tutto Moab, e alli uomini del muro fatto che si lamentavano.	31 -and so I lament for Moab, for al Moab I raise my cry and mourn for the people of Kir-Heres.
32 Del pianto di lazer io piagnerò a te, vigna Sabama; li tuoi rami passorono il mare, pervennero infino al mare di Iazer; il predatore venne (in rovina) sopra la tua ricolta e la vendemmia.	32 More than for Jazer I weep for you, vineyard of Sibmah: your shoots stretched beyond the sea, they reached al the way to Jazer. On your harvest and vintage the despoiler has descended.
33 La letizia e l'allegrezza è tolta di Carmelo e della terra di Moab; e ho tolto lo vino de' canali, e lo follatore dell' uva non canterà più la sua usata canzone.	33 Gladness and joy have vanished from the orchards of Moab. I have dried up the wine in the presses,the treader of grapes treads no more, the joyful shouting has ceased.
34 Dello romore d' Esebon insino ad Eleale e Iasa diedono la loro voce; di Segor insino ad Oronaim, come vitella che si gitta in terra; e l'acque di Nemrim seranno pessime.	34 The cries of Heshbon and Elealeh can be heard as far as Jahaz. The shrieks resound from Zoar toHoronaim and Eglath-Shelishiyah, for even the Waters of Nimrim have become a wasteland.
35 E torrò di Moab, dice Iddio, quello che offera nelle altezze, e quelli che sacrificano alli iddii suoi.	35 And in Moab I shal make an end, Yahweh declares, of anyone offering sacrifice on the high placesand anyone offering incense to his gods.
36 Però lo mio cuore suonerà a Moab quasi casa di metallo; e lo mio cuore alli uomini del muro malvagio darà suono delle gambe; per che feciono più che non poterono; però perirono.	36 That is why my heart sobs like a flute for Moab, sobs like a flute for the people of Kir-Heres, since thewealth he had acquired is lost.
37 Ogni capo sarà calvo, e ogni barba sarà rasa; in ogni mano sarà allegatura, e sopra ogni dorso sarà cilicio.	37 Yes, every head is shaved, every beard cut off, gashes are on every hand, sackcloth round everywaist.
38 Sopra tutti li tetti di Moab e nelle sue piazze sarà tutto pianto; però che è trito Moab sì come vaso disutile, dice Iddio.	38 On al the housetops of Moab and in al its squares there is nothing but lamenting, for I have brokenMoab like an unwanted pot, Yahweh declares.
39 Com'è allegata, e urlano? come gittò Moab lo collo, e confuso è? E sarà Moab posto per ischerno, e in esempio a tutte le genti del suo circuito.	39 How shattered he is! Wail! Moab so shameful y in retreat! Moab has become a laughing-stock, a thingof horror to al his neighbours.
40 Questo dice Iddio: ecco, volerà a modo d' aquila, e distese l'ali sue a Moab.	40 For Yahweh says this: (Look, like an eagle, he wil hover, spreading his wings over Moab.)
41 Cariot sì è presa, e tutte le sue armature sono comprese; e sarà lo cuore de' forti di Moab in quello dì, come lo cuore della femina che partorisce.	41 The towns have been captured, the strongholds seized. (And the heart of Moab's warriors, that day,wil be like that of a woman in labour pains.)
42 E lo populo sì cesserà d'essere di Moab; però che s'è gloriato incontro a Dio.	42 Moab wil be destroyed, no longer a people, for setting itself up against Yahweh.
43 Timore e fossa e lacciuolo sopra te, o abitatore di Moab, dice Iddio.	43 Terror, the pit and the snare for you, inhabitant of Moab, Yahweh declares.
44 Chi fuggirà dalla faccia del timore (di Dio) cadrà nella fossa; e chi (sarà e) salirà della fossa sarà preso dal lacciuolo; io adducerò sopra Moab l'anno della loro visitazione, dice Iddio.	44 And anyone who escapes from terror wil fal into the pit, and anyone who climbs out of the pit wil becaught in the snare. Yes, I shall bring all this on Moab when the year comes for punishing them, Yahwehdeclares.
45 Egli stettono nell' ombra di Esebon fuggenti dello lacciuolo; però che lo fuoco è uscito di Esebon, e la fiamma del mezzo di Seon, e divorerà la parte di Moab e la sommità de' figliuoli di tumulto. (Lo tumulto si è vocabolo in grammatica', che in volgare si dice quando una gente viene con grande furore).	45 In the shelter of Heshbon the fugitives have paused, exhausted. But fire wil burst from Heshbon, aflame from the palace of Sihon, consuming the brows of Moab, the head of a turbulent brood.
46 Guai a te, Moab! se' tu, popolo di Camos, perito; però che li tuoi figliuoli sono presi, e le tue figliuole sono poste in prigione.	46 Disaster for you, Moab! The people of Chemosh are lost! For your sons have been taken into exileand your daughters into captivity.
47 E convertirò la cattivitade di Moab nelli novissimi dì, dice Iddio. Infino a qui si è trattato dei giudicii di Moab.	47 But I shal bring back Moab's captives in the final days, Yahweh declares. Thus far the judgement onMoab.
