Ieremia 16

1 E disse Iddio a me:	1 This message came to me from the LORD:
2 Non torrai moglie, e non saranno figliuoli nè figliuole a te in questo luogo.	2 Do not marry any woman; you shall not have sons or daughters in this place,
3 Però che questo dice lo Signore sopra li figliuoli e le figliuole, che sono generati in questo luogo, e sopra le loro madri le quali generarono loro, e sopra li loro padri, della schiatta delli quali sono nati in questa terra:	3 for thus says the LORD concerning the sons and daughters who will be born in this place, the mothers who will give them birth, the fathers who will beget them in this land:
4 morranno di morte d' infirmitadi, e non saranno pianti, nè seppelliti; saranno nella feccia sopra la faccia della terra; saranno consumati di coltello e di fame, e saranno li loro corpi in esca alli uccelli del cielo e alle bestie della terra.	4 Of deadly disease they shall die. Unlamented and unburied they will lie like dung on the ground. Sword and famine will make an end of them, and their corpses will become food for the birds of the sky and the beasts of the field.
5 Questo dice Iddio: non entrare nella casa del convito, e non andare a piagnere, e non li consolare; per ciò che io ho tolta la mia pace da questo popolo, dice Iddio, misericordia e misericordie.	5 Go not into a house of mourning, the LORD continued: go not there to lament or offer sympathy. For I have withdrawn my friendship from this people, says the LORD, my kindness and my pity.
6 E morranno grandi e piccoli in questa terra; e non saranno pianti, e non saranno seppelliti; e non si raderanno, e niuno se ne scapeglierà.	6 They shall die, the great and the lowly, in this land, and shall go unburied and unlamented. No one will gash himself or shave his head for them.
7 E non romperanno tra loro il pane a colui che piagne a consolarli sopra lo suo morto; e non li daranno beveraggio di calice a consolarsi sopra lo suo padre e sopra la sua madre.	7 They will not break bread with the bereaved to console them in their bereavement; they will not give them the cup of consolation to drink over the death of father or mother.
8 E casa di convito non entrerai, acciò che tu segga con loro, e che tu mangi e che tu bea.	8 Enter not a house where people are celebrating, to sit with them eating and drinking.
9 Però che questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d'Israel: ecco, io torrò di questo luogo, ne' vostri occhi e nelli vostri dì, la voce d'allegrezza e la voce di letizia, e la voce di sposo e di sposa.	9 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Before your very eyes and during your lifetime I will silence from this place the cry of joy and the cry of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.
10 E quando tu averai annunciato a questo populo tutte queste cose, e loro abbino detto a te: 0 per che hae parlato il Signore sopra a noi tutto questo grande male? quale è la iniquità nostra? o quale è lo peccato nostro lo quale noi abbiamo commesso allo nostro Signore Iddio?	10 When you proclaim all these words to this people and they ask you: "Why has the LORD pronounced all these great evils against us? What is our crime? What sin have we committed against the LORD, our God?"--
11 dirai a loro: per che li vostri padri hanno abbandonato me, dice Iddio, e andarono dietro alli iddii stranieri, e servirono loro, e adorarono loro, e me lasciarono, e non guardarono la mia legge.	11 you shall answer them: It is because your fathers have forsaken me, says the LORD, and followed strange gods, which they served and worshiped; but me they have forsaken, and my law they have not observed.
12 Ma voi avete adoperato peggio che i vostri padri; ecco, ciascuno va dirieto alla pravitade del suo mal cuore, acciò che non m' intenda.	12 And you have done worse than your fathers. Here you are, every one of you, walking in the hardness of his evil heart instead of listening to me.
13 E io vi caccerò di questa terra, e manderovvi in terra la quale voi non sapete, nè voi nè i vostri padri; e servirete ivi alli altri iddii di dì e di notte, i quali non vi daranno riposo (e non vi lasceranno istare).	13 I will cast you out of this land into a land that neither you nor your fathers have known; there you can serve strange gods day and night, because I will not grant you my mercy.
14 Per ciò ecco li dì vegnono, dice Iddio, e non si dirà più: vive Iddio, il quale menò i figliuoli d' Israel della terra d' Egitto (e da tutto l'universo);	14 However, days will surely come, says the LORD, when it will no longer be said, "As the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites out of Egypt";
15 ma: vive Iddio, il quale menò i figliuoli d' Israel della terra d' aquilone, e di tutte l' universe terre alle quali io li cacciai; e riducerolli nella terra loro, la quale io diedi alli loro padri	15 but rather, "As the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites out of the land of the north and out of all the countries to which he had banished them." I will bring them back to the land which I gave their fathers.
16 Ecco, dice Iddio, io manderò molti pescatori, e pescheranno loro; e dopo questo manderò loro molti cacciatori, e cacceranno loro d' ogni monte e d'ogni colle, e delle caverne delle pietre.	16 Look! I will send many fishermen, says the LORD, to catch them. After that, I will send many hunters to hunt them out from every mountain and hill and from the clefts of the rocks.
17 Però che li miei occhii sono sopra tutte le vie sue; non sono nascoste (le loro vie) dalla faccia mia, e la loro malvagitade non è occulta (a me nè) alli miei occhii.	17 For my eyes are upon all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor does their guilt escape my view.
18 E renderò prima in doppio le loro iniquitadi e li loro peccati; però che hanno contaminata (e corrotta) la terra mia colla uccisione delli animali de' suoi idoli, ed empierono la mia ereditade colle loro abominazioni.	18 I will at once repay them double for their crime and their sin of profaning my land with their detestable corpses of idols, and filling my heritage with their abominations.
19 O Signore, fortezza mia e mio rifugio nel dì della tribulazione, a te verranno le genti dalle estreme parti della terra, e diranno: veramente li nostri padri possederono bugia, e vanitade la quale non giovò loro.	19 O LORD, my strength, my fortress, my refuge in the day of distress! To you will the nations come from the ends of the earth, and say, "Mere frauds are the heritage of our fathers, empty idols of no use."
20 Or farà l' uomo li iddii a sè, e non saranno iddii?	20 Can man make for himself gods? These are not gods.
21 Però, ecco, io mostrerò loro, per questa volta, la mia mano e la mia virtù; e sapranno che lo mio nome sì si chiama Signore.	21 Look, then: I will give them knowledge; this time I will leave them in no doubt Of my strength and my power: they shall know that my name is LORD.
