Salmi 53

1 In fine, nelli versi dell' intelletto di David,	1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
2 quando vennero li Zifei, e dissero a Saul: non è ascoso David appo di noi?	2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.
3 Iddio, nel tuo nome fammi salvo; e nella tua virtù giudica me.	3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4 Iddio, esaudi la mia orazione; colle orecchie ricevi le parole della mia bocca.	4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.
5 Imperò [che] gli estranei levoronsi contra di me, e li forti cercorono l'anima mia; e non proposero Iddio avanti il conspetto suo.	5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.
6 Ecco, certo che Iddio mi aiuta; e il Signore è ricevitor dell' anima mia.	6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
7 Rimuovi li mali dalli miei nemici; e nella tua verità distruggera?li.
8 Volontariamente a te sacrificherò, e al tuo nome, Signore, confesserò; per ch' egli è buono.
9 Imperò [che] mi hai liberato da ogni tribulazione; e sopra li miei nemici levai l'occhio mio.
