BIBBIA VOLGARE	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Rispose Iob, e disse:	1 Then Job answered and said,
2 Perchè tormentate voi ancora l'anima mia, e attritate me colle parole?	2 How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
3 E certo dieci volte confondete me, e opprimendomi non vi vergognate.	3 These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.
4 E certo, se io non seppi, meco sarà la mia ignoranza.	4 And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
5 Ma voi contro a me vi dirizzate, e riprendete me colli miei vituperii.	5 If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
6 Ma ora almeno m' intendete, perciò che Iddio non con uguale giudicio hae tormentato me, e colli suoi flagelli ha cinto me.	6 Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.
7 Ecco io chiameroe, sostenente forza, e niuno udirae; griderò, e non è chi giudichi.	7 Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
8 La mia via intorniò di siepe, e passare non posso, e nel mio sentiero pose le tenebre.	8 He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
9 Spogliommi della mia gloria, e tolse la corona del mio capo.	9 He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
10 Distrusse me da ogni parte, e perisco; sì come è stravolto l'albero, così tolse la mia speranza.	10 He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.
11 Adirato è contro a me lo suo furore, e così hae avuto me quasi come suo nemico.	11 He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.
12 Insieme vennero li suoi ladri, e fecero la via a loro per me, e assediarono intorno lo mio tabernacolo.	12 His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.
13 Li miei fratelli fecero dalla lunga da me; e li amici miei, sì come alieni, si partirono da me.	13 He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.
14 Abbandonarono me li miei più prossimani; e coloro che mi conoscevano hannomi dimenticato.	14 My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
15 Li servi della casa, e le ancille mie, sì come uno altro uomo mi tengono; e sì come peregrino sono negli occhii loro.	15 They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
16 Lo mio servo chiamai, e non mi rispose; con la mia bocca propria lo pregava.	16 I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.
17 L'alito mio impaurio la mia moglie, e pregava li figliuoli del mio ventre.	17 My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children's sake of mine own body.
18 In verità gli sciocchi dispregiavano me; e quando da loro mi era partito, m' ingiuriavano.	18 Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.
19 Quelli che furono miei consiglieri hanno abbominato me; e colui che massimamente io amava, fatto è contro a me.	19 All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
20 E alla mia pelle, consumata la mia carne, s' accostò la bocca mia; e lasciate sono solamente le mie labbra intorno a' miei denti.	20 My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
21 Abbiate misericordia di me, abbiate misericordia di me, almeno voi, miei amici; perciò che la mano del Signore toccò me.	21 Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
22 Perchè perseguitate me, sì come Iddio, e delle mie carni vi saturate?	22 Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23 Chi mi darà, acciò che si scrivano le mie parole? Chi mi dà, ch' elle sieno messe in libro	23 Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
24 con istilo di ferro, ovvero collo piombino di piombo, ovvero (certo) ch' elle sieno intagliate collo scarpello nella pietra?	24 That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
25 Io so veramente, che lo mio Ricomperatore vive, e nell' ultimo dì della terra mi leveroe.	25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
26 E da capo sarò intorniato colla mia pelle, e nella carne mia vederò Iddio.	26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27 Il quale io medesimo vedrò, e gli occhii miei lo riguarderanno, e non altro; riposta è nel mio seno questa speranza.	27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
28 Adunque perchè dite: perseguitiamo lui, e la radice delle parole ritroviamo contro a lui?	28 But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
29 Fuggite dunque dalla faccia del coltello, perciò che il vendicatore delle iniquitadi è lo coltello; e sappiate ch' egli è giudicio.	29 Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
