1 E dopo questo fatto [è], che David percosse i Filistei, e umiliolli; e tolse David il freno del tributo di mano de' Filistei.	1 And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Metheg-ammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 E percosse Moab, e col funicello il misurò, agguagliandolo alla terra; e misurò due funicelli, uno ad uccidere e l'altro a vivificare. E fu fatto Moab servo di David per tributo.	2 And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.
3 E percosse David Adarezer figliuolo di Roob re di Soba, quando egli andò per signoreggiare di sopra al fiume Eufrate.	3 David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.
4 E prese David, dalla parte di Adarezer, millesettecento cavalieri e XX milia pedoni; e tagliò i nerbi delle gambe a tutte bestie che menavano le carra; delle quali carra reservò cento.	4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.
5 E venne Siria di Damasco per aiutare Adarezer re di Soba; e uccise David di Siria XXII milia di uomini.	5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
6 E puose David fortezza in Siria di Damasco; e fu fatta serva di David per tributo e salvò Iddio David in tutte le cose, alle quali egli uscì.	6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
7 E tolse David l' arme dell' acciaio (e gli ornamenti del collo) che avevano i servi di Adarezer, e portolle in Ierusalem.	7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 E di Bet e di Berot, città di Adarezer, tolse David molto metallo (del quale fece Salomone il mare del metallo, e le colonne e lo altare e le vasa nel tempio).	8 And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
9 E intese Tou re di Emat, che David avea percosso tutta la forza di Adarezer.	9 When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,
10 E mandò Tou, Ioram suo figliuolo al re David, a salutarlo (e ad allegrarsi con lui) e ringraziare, però che avea percosso e sconfitto Adarezer; però che Adarezer sì era nemico di Tou, e avea portato Ioram vasi d'oro e d'ariento e di metallo.	10 Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
11 Li quali santificò David a Dio con l'oro e con l'ariento, il quale avea tolto di tutte le genti le quali avea soggiogate a sè	11 Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;
12 di Siria, di Moab e de' figliuoli di Ammon e de' Filistei, di Amalec e delle mani di Adarezer figliuolo di Roob re di Soba.	12 Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13 E fece a sè David nome, tornando di Siria; e avendola presa nella valle salinaria, morti ne sono XVIII milia (di quelli di Idumea, e in Zebilem XXIII milia).	13 And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.
14 E pose guardie in Idumea, e ordinovvi fortezze; e tutta Idumea fu fatta serva di David. E salvò Iddio David in tutte le cose, alle quali egli andava.	14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
15 E regnò David sopra tutto Israel; e faceva David giudizio e giustizia sopra tutto il suo popolo.	15 And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.
16 E Ioab figliuolo di Sarvia era sopra lo esercito; e Iosafat figliuolo di Ailud era scrittore delle cose faceano.	16 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
17 E Sadoc figliuolo di Achitob, e Achimelec figliuolo di Abiatar, erano sacerdoti; e Saraia era scrivano.	17 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;
18 E Banaia figliuolo di Ioiada era sopra gli guardiani della persona di David. E i figliuoli di David erano maggiori dopo il re.	18 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.
