1 Magistro chori. Psalmus. David.	1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] Rescue me, Yahweh, from evil men, protect me from violentmen,
2 Eripe me, Domine, ab homine malo, a viro violentiae serva me.	2 whose heart is bent on malice, day after day they harbour strife;
3 Qui cogitaverunt mala in corde, tota die constituebant proelia.	3 their tongues as barbed as a serpent's, viper's venom behind their lips.Pause
4 Acuerunt linguas suas sicut serpentis, venenum aspidum sub labiis eorum.	4 Keep me, Yahweh, from the clutches of the wicked, protect me from violent men, who are bent onmaking me stumble,laying out snares where I walk,
5 Custodi me, Domine, de manu peccatoris et a viro violentiae serva me, qui cogitaverunt supplantare gressus meos.	5 in their arrogance hiding pitfal and nooseto trap me as I pass.Pause
6 Absconderunt superbi laqueum mihi et funes extenderunt in rete, iuxta iter offendicula posuerunt mihi.	6 I said to Yahweh, 'You are my God.' Listen, Yahweh, to the sound of my prayer.
7 Dixi Domino: “ Deus meus es tu; auribus percipe, Domine, vocem deprecationis meae ”.	7 Yahweh my Lord, my saving strength, you shield my head when battle comes.
8 Domine, Domine, virtus salutis meae, obumbrasti caput meum in die belli.	8 Yahweh, do not grant the wicked their wishes, do not let their plots succeed.Pause Do not let myattackers
9 Ne concedas, Domine, desideria impii; consilia eius ne perficias. Exaltant	9 prevail, but let them be overwhelmed by their own malice.
10 caput, qui circumdant me; malitia labiorum ipsorum operiat eos.	10 May red-hot embers rain down on them, may they be flung into the mire once and for all.
11 Cadant super eos carbones ignis, in foveas deicias eos, et non exsurgant.	11 May the slanderer find no rest anywhere, may evil hunt down violent men implacably.
12 Vir linguosus non firmabitur in terra, virum violentiae mala capient in interitu.	12 I know that Yahweh wil give judgement for the wretched, justice for the needy.
13 Cognovi quia faciet Dominus iudicium inopis et vindictam pauperum.	13 The upright shal praise your name, the honest dwel in your presence.
14 Verumtamen iusti confitebuntur nomini tuo, et habitabunt recti in conspectu tuo.
