NEW JERUSALEM	Biblia Tysiąclecia
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 Pan przemówił do Mojżesza tymi słowami:
2 'Tel the Israelites to turn back and pitch camp in front of Pi-Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea,facing Baal-Zephon. You must pitch your camp opposite this place, beside the sea,	2 Rozkaż Izraelitom, niech zawrócą i niech rozbiją obóz pod Pi-Hachirot pomiędzy Migdol a morzem, naprzeciw Baal-Sefon. Rozbijcie namioty naprzeciw tego miejsca nad morzem.
3 and then Pharaoh wil think, "The Israelites are wandering to and fro in the countryside; the desert hasclosed in on them."	3 Faraon powie wtedy: Izraelici zabłądzili w kraju, a pustynia zamknęła im drogę.
4 I shal then make Pharaoh stubborn and he wil set out in pursuit of them; and I shall win glory formyself at the expense of Pharaoh and his whole army, and then the Egyptians wil know that I am Yahweh.' Andthe Israelites did this.	4 Uczynię upartym serce faraona, i urządzi pościg za wami. Wtedy okażę potęgę moją nad faraonem i nad całym jego wojskiem. Poznają wówczas Egipcjanie, że Ja jestem Pan. I uczynili w ten sposób.
5 When Pharaoh king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, he and his officials changed theirattitude towards the people. 'What have we done,' they said, 'allowing Israel to leave our service?'	5 Gdy doniesiono królowi egipskiemu o ucieczce ludu, zmieniło się usposobienie faraona i jego sług względem niego i rzekli: Cóżeśmy uczynili pozwalając Izraelowi opuścić naszą służbę?
6 So Pharaoh had his chariot harnessed and set out with his troops,	6 Rozkazał wówczas faraon zaprzęgać swoje rydwany i zabrał ludzi swoich ze sobą.
7 taking six hundred of the best chariots and al the other chariots in Egypt, with officers in each.	7 Wziął sześćset rydwanów wyborowych oraz wszystkie inne rydwany egipskie, a na każdym z nich byli dzielni wojownicy.
8 Yahweh made Pharaoh king of Egypt stubborn, and he gave chase to the Israelites. The Israelitesmarched confidently away,	8 Pan uczynił upartym serce faraona, króla egipskiego, który urządził pościg za Izraelitami. Ci jednak wyszli z podniesioną ręką.
9 but the Egyptians, al Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, his horsemen and his army, gave chase andcaught up with them where they lay encamped beside the sea near Pi-Hahiroth, facing Baal-Zephon.	9 Egipcjanie więc ścigali ich i dopędzili obozujących nad morzem - wszystkie konie i rydwany faraona, jeźdźcy i całe wojsko jego - pod Pi-Hachirot naprzeciw Baal-Sefon.
10 As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up -- and there were the Egyptians in pursuit of them!The Israelites were terrified and cried out to Yahweh for help.	10 A gdy się zbliżył faraon, Izraelici podnieśli oczy, a ujrzawszy, że Egipcjanie ciągną za nimi, ogromnie się przerazili. Izraelici podnieśli głośne wołanie do Pana.
11 To Moses they said, 'Was it for lack of graves in Egypt, that you had to lead us out to die in thedesert? What was the point of bringing us out of Egypt?	11 Rzekli do Mojżesza: Czyż brakowało grobów w Egipcie, że nas tu przyprowadziłeś, abyśmy pomarli na pustyni? Cóż za usługę wyświadczyłeś nam przez to, że wyprowadziłeś nas z Egiptu?
12 Did we not tell you as much in Egypt? Leave us alone, we said, we would rather work for theEgyptians! We prefer to work for the Egyptians than to die in the desert!'	12 Czyż nie mówiliśmy ci wyraźnie w Egipcie: Zostaw nas w spokoju, chcemy służyć Egipcjanom. Lepiej bowiem nam było służyć im, niż umierać na tej pustyni.
13 Moses said to the people, 'Do not be afraid! Stand firm, and you wil see what Yahweh wil do torescue you today: the Egyptians you see today you wil never see again.	13 Mojżesz odpowiedział ludowi: Nie bójcie się! Pozostańcie na swoim miejscu, a zobaczycie zbawienie od Pana, jakie zgotuje nam dzisiaj. Egipcjan, których widzicie teraz, nie będziecie już nigdy oglądać.
14 Yahweh will do the fighting for you; al you need to do is to keep calm.'	14 Pan będzie walczył za was, a wy będziecie spokojni.
15 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Why cry out to me? Tel the Israelites to march on.	15 Pan rzekł do Mojżesza: Czemu głośno wołasz do Mnie? Powiedz Izraelitom, niech ruszają w drogę.
16 Your part is to raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, so that theIsraelites can walk through the sea on dry ground,	16 Ty zaś podnieś swą laskę i wyciągnij rękę nad morze i rozdziel je na dwoje, a wejdą Izraelici w środek na suchą ziemię.
17 while I, for my part, shal make the Egyptians so stubborn that they wil follow them, and I shall winglory for myself at the expense of Pharaoh and al his army, chariots and horsemen.	17 Ja natomiast uczynię upartymi serca Egipcjan, że pójdą za nimi. Wtedy okażę moją potęgę wobec faraona, całego wojska jego, rydwanów i wszystkich jego jeźdźców.
18 And when I have won glory for myself at the expense of Pharaoh and his chariots and horsemen, theEgyptians wil know that I am Yahweh.'	18 A gdy okażę moją potęgę wobec faraona, jego rydwanów i jeźdźców, wtedy poznają Egipcjanie, że ja jestem Pan.
19 Then the angel of God, who preceded the army of Israel, changed station and fol owed behind them.The pil ar of cloud moved from their front and took position behind them.	19 Anioł Boży, który szedł na przedzie wojsk izraelskich, zmienił miejsce i szedł na ich tyłach. Słup obłoku również przeszedł z przodu i zajął ich tyły,
20 It came between the army of the Egyptians and the army of Israel. The cloud was dark, and the nightpassed without the one drawing any closer to the other the whole night long.	20 stając między wojskiem egipskim a wojskiem izraelskim. I tam był obłok ciemnością, tu zaś oświecał noc. I nie zbliżyli się jedni do drugich przez całą noc.
21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and Yahweh drove the sea back with a strongeasterly wind al night and made the sea into dry land. The waters were divided	21 Mojżesz wyciągnął rękę nad morze, a Pan cofnął wody gwałtownym wiatrem wschodnim, który wiał przez całą noc, i uczynił morze suchą ziemią. Wody się rozstąpiły,
22 and the Israelites went on dry ground right through the sea, with wal s of water to right and left ofthem.	22 a Izraelici szli przez środek morza po suchej ziemi, mając mur z wód po prawej i po lewej stronie.
23 The Egyptians gave chase, and all Pharaoh's horses, chariots and horsemen went into the sea afterthem.	23 Egipcjanie ścigali ich. Wszystkie konie faraona, jego rydwany i jeźdźcy weszli za nimi w środek morza.
24 In the morning watch, Yahweh looked down on the army of the Egyptians from the pil ar of fire andcloud and threw the Egyptian army into confusion.	24 O świcie spojrzał Pan ze słupa ognia i ze słupa obłoku na wojsko egipskie i zmusił je do ucieczki.
25 He so clogged their chariot wheels that they drove on only with difficulty, which made the Egyptianssay, 'Let us flee from Israel, for Yahweh is fighting on their side against the Egyptians!'	25 I zatrzymał koła ich rydwanów, tak że z wielką trudnością mogli się naprzód posuwać. Egipcjanie krzyknęli: Uciekajmy przed Izraelem, bo w jego obronie Pan walczy z Egipcjanami.
26 Then Yahweh said to Moses, 'Stretch out your hand over the sea and let the waters flow back on theEgyptians and on their chariots and their horsemen.'	26 A Pan rzekł do Mojżesza: Wyciągnij rękę nad moze, aby wody zalały Egipcjan, ich rydwany i jeźdźców.
27 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea and, as day broke, the sea returned to its bed. The fleeingEgyptians ran straight into it, and Yahweh overthrew the Egyptians in the middle of the sea.	27 Wyciągnął Mojżesz rękę nad morze, które o brzasku dnia wróciło na swoje miejsce. Egipcjanie uciekając biegli naprzeciw falom, i pogrążył ich Pan w środku morza.
28 The returning waters washed right over the chariots and horsemen of Pharaoh's entire army, whichhad fol owed the Israelites into the sea; not a single one of them was left.	28 Powracające fale zatopiły rydwany i jeźdźców całego wojska faraona, którzy weszli w morze, ścigając tamtych, nie ocalał z nich ani jeden.
29 The Israelites, however, had marched through the sea on dry ground, with wal s of water to right andleft of them.	29 Izraelici zaś szli po suchym dnie morskim, mając mur wodny po prawej i po lewej stronie.
30 That day, Yahweh rescued Israel from the clutches of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptianslying dead on the sea-shore.	30 W tym to dniu wybawił Pan Izraela z rąk Egipcjan. I widzieli Izraelici martwych Egipcjan na brzegu morza.
31 When Israel saw the mighty deed that Yahweh had performed against the Egyptians, the peoplerevered Yahweh and put their faith in Yahweh and in Moses, his servant.	31 Gdy Izraelici widzieli wielkie dzieło, którego dokonał Pan wobec Egipcjan, ulękli się Pana i uwierzyli Jemu oraz Jego słudze Mojżeszowi.
