1 For the leader. A psalm of David.	1 Zborovođi. Psalam. Davidov.
2 The heavens declare the glory of God; the sky proclaims its builder's craft.	2 Nebesa slavu Božju kazuju, naviješta svod nebeski djelo ruku njegovih.
3 One day to the next conveys that message; one night to the next imparts that knowledge.	3 Dan danu to objavljuje, a noć noći glas predaje.
4 There is no word or sound; no voice is heard;	4 Nije to riječ, a ni govor nije, nije ni glas što se može čuti,
5 Yet their report goes forth through all the earth, their message, to the ends of the world. God has pitched there a tent for the sun;	5 al’ po zemlji razliježe se jeka, riječi sve do nakraj svijeta sežu. Ondje suncu razape šator,
6 it comes forth like a bridegroom from his chamber, and like an athlete joyfully runs its course.	6 te ono k’o ženik iz ložnice ide, k’o div kliče kad prelijeće stazu.
7 From one end of the heavens it comes forth; its course runs through to the other; nothing escapes its heat.	7 Izlazi ono od nebeskog kraja, i put mu se opet s krajem spaja, ne skriva se ništa žaru njegovu.
8 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The decree of the LORD is trustworthy, giving wisdom to the simple.	8 Savršen je zakon Jahvin – dušu krijepi; pouzdano je svjedočanstvo Jahvino – neuka uči;
9 The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart. The command of the LORD is clear, enlightening the eye.	9 prava je naredba Jahvina – srce sladi; čista je zapovijed Jahvina – oči prosvjetljuje;
10 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The statutes of the LORD are true, all of them just;	10 neokaljan strah Jahvin – ostaje svagda; istiniti sudovi Jahvini – svi jednako pravedni,
11 More desirable than gold, than a hoard of purest gold, Sweeter also than honey or drippings from the comb.	11 dragocjeniji od zlata, od mnogo zlata čistoga, slađi od meda, meda samotoka.
12 By them your servant is instructed; obeying them brings much reward.	12 Sluga tvoj pomno na njih pazi, vrlo brižno on ih čuva.
13 Who can detect heedless failings? Cleanse me from my unknown faults.	13 Ali tko propuste svoje da zapazi? Od potajnih grijeha očisti me!
14 But from willful sins keep your servant; let them never control me. Then shall I be blameless, innocent of grave sin.	14 Od oholosti čuvaj slugu svoga da mnome ne zavlada. Tad ću biti neokaljan, čist od grijeha velikoga.
15 Let the words of my mouth meet with your favor, keep the thoughts of my heart before you, LORD, my rock and my redeemer.	15 Moje ti riječi omiljele i razmišljanje srca moga pred licem tvojim. Jahve, hridi moja, otkupitelju moj!
