Jeremiah 20

1 Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the LORD, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things.	1 E Fassur figliuolo d' (uno il quale ebbe nome) Emmer, sacerdote, il quale era constituito (e ordinato) principe nella casa di Dio, udie Ieremia (profeta) profetante questi detti.
2 Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the LORD.	2 E percosse Fassur, Ieremia profeta, e miselo in legamento, il qual è nella porta di sopra di Beniamin, nella casa di Dio.
3 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magor-missabib.	3 E come fu fatto l' altro dì, Fassur trasse Ieremia da quello legame; e Ieremia disse a lui: lo Signore non chiama lo tuo nome Fassur, ma Paura in ogni luogo.
4 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.	4 Però [che] questo dice lo Signore: ecco io ti darò nel timore; e tutti li amici tuoi caderanno nel · coltello delli loro nimici, e li tuoi occhi lo vederanno; e tutto Giuda darò in mano dello re di Babilonia; e meneralli in Babilonia, e uccideralli di coltello.
5 Moreover I will deliver all the strength of this city, and all the labours thereof, and all the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, which shall spoil them, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.	5 E darò tutta l'universa sostanza di questa cittade, e tutta la fatica e tutto lo prezzo e tutti li tesori delli re di Giuda darò in mano alli inimici loro; e diromperannoli e torrannoli e menerannoli in Babilonia.
6 And thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buried there, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied lies.	6 Ma tu, Fassur, e tutti li abitatori della casa tua anderete in prigione; e anderai in Babilonia, e ivi morrai, e sarai seppellito tu e tutti li tuoi amici, ai quali tu hai profetato bugia.
7 O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.	7 O Signore, tu mi provasti, e sono provato; e fusti più forte di me, e assalisti me; io sono fatto ischernito tutti i dì; tutti digrignano li denti.
8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.	8 Però che già da quindi adietro parlo (con grande boce) e chiamo con grande boce dirittura e giustizia; e lo detto [del] Signore m' è fatto in disonore e in schernimento tutti li dì.
9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.	9 E io dissi: non mi ricorderò di lui, e non parlerò più nel suo nome; e fatto è nel mio cuore quasi come fuoco avvampante (rinchiuso nel fuoco) rinchiuso nelle mie ossa; e venni in tanto difetto, che quasi non mi sostenea.
10 For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.	10 E io udi' vergogna e vituperio di molti e spaventamento nel circuito: perseguitatelo, e noi il perseguitaremo lui; da tutti li uomini, li quali erano miei pacifichi, e guardanti lo lato mio; e se in alcuno modo sia ingannato, avanziamo inverso lui, e pigliamo vendetta di lui.
11 But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.	11 Ma lo Signore è meco quasi come forte combattitore; però (che) quelli che persèguitano me caderanno e saranno infermi; e saranno fortemente confusi, però che non intesero lo vituperio sempiterno, lo quale non si spegnerà.
12 But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.	12 E tu, Signore delli esèrciti, provatore del giusto, lo quale vedi le reni e li cuori, fa ch' io veggia, prègotene, la vendetta tua di loro; a te ho rivelata la mia cagione (e lo mio fatto).
13 Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.	13 Date canto a Dio, e laudate lui; però ch' egli ha liberato l'anima del povero della mano delli rei.
14 Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.	14 Maledetto lo dì nello quale io fui nato, e nello quale mi partorì mia madre; e non sia benedetto.
15 Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man child is born unto thee; making him very glad.	15 Maledetto l' uomo (per) che annunciò al mio padre, dicente: uno fanciullo t' è nato, e allegrollo quasi di grande letizia (e allegrezza).
16 And let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noontide;	16 Così sia quello uomo, come le cittadi le quali volse sotto sopra il Signore, e non se ne pentì: oda lo grido la mattina, e l' urlo nel meriggio,
17 Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.	17 [colui] il quale non uccise me, quando io usciva fuori del ventre della mia madre, acciò che la mia madre fusse stata mia sepoltura, e la sua natura eterno concepimento.
18 Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?	18 Or per che uscii del corpo della mia madre, acciò ch' io vedessi fatica e dolore, e li miei dì consumassono per confusione?
