Proverbs 8

DOUAI-RHEIMS	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Doth not wisdom cry aloud, and prudence put forth her voice ?	1 Non è forse la sapienza che chiama? L'intelligenza non fa sentir la voce?
2 Standing in the top of the highest places by the way, in the midst of the paths.	2 In cima alle alture, lungo la strada, agli incroci delle vie ella si pone;
3 Beside the gates of the city, in the very doors she speaketh, saying:	3 accanto alle porte, all'ingresso dei villaggi, sulle vie di scorrimento grida:
4 O ye men, to you I call, and my voice is to the sons of men.	4 "Voi, uomini, io chiamo, grido ai figli dell'uomo.
5 O little ones, understand subtilty, and ye unwise, take notice.	5 Imparate, ingenui, la prudenza, voi, insensati, diventate giudiziosi!
6 Hear, for I will speak of great things: and my lips shall be opened to preach right things.	6 Ascoltate, perché cose importanti io dirò, ciò che le mie labbra proferiscono è retto.
7 My mouth shall meditate truth, and my lips shall hate wickedness.	7 Cose vere pronunzia il mio palato, abominio delle mie labbra è l'empietà.
8 All my words are just, there is nothing wicked nor perverse in them.	8 Giuste sono tutte le parole della mia bocca, niente c'è in esse di tortuoso e perverso.
9 They are right to them that understand, and just to them that find knowledge.	9 Tutte sono sincere per chi le sa comprendere, rette per chi ha trovato la scienza.
10 Receive my instruction, and not money: choose knowledge rather than gold.	10 Accogliete la mia istruzione, non l'argento, la scienza invece dell'oro fino.
11 ,11For wisdom is better than all the most precious things: and whatsoever may be desired cannot be compared to	11 Sì, la sapienza è migliore delle perle, quanto può desiderarsi non l'eguaglia.
12 I wisdom dwell in counsel, and am present in learned thoughts.	12 Io, sapienza, abito insieme alla prudenza, ho trovato la scienza dei consigli.
13 The fear of the Lord hateth evil: I hate arrogance, and pride, and every wicked way, and a mouth with a double tongue.	13 Il timore del Signore è l'odio del male. Superbia, orgoglio, cattiva condotta e bocca perversa io li odio.
14 Counsel and equity is mine, prudence is mine, strength is mine.	14 A me il consiglio e l'abilità, io sono l'intelligenza, a me la forza.
15 By me kings reign, and lawgivers decree just things,	15 Per me i re regnano, i capi amministrano la giustizia;
16 By me princes rule, and the mighty decree justice.	16 per me i prìncipi governano, i nobili giudicano la terra.
17 I love them that love me: and they that in the morning early watch for me, shall find me.	17 Io amo coloro che mi amano; coloro che mi cercano, mi trovano.
18 With me are riches and glory, glorious riches and justice.	18 Ricchezza e gloria sono con me, i beni che perdurano e la giustizia.
19 For my fruit is better than gold and the precious stone, and my blossoms than choice silver.	19 Il mio frutto è migliore dell'oro, quello fino, i miei prodotti preferibili all'argento puro.
20 I walk in the way of justice, in the midst of the paths of judgment,	20 Nella via della giustizia io cammino, nei sentieri del diritto,
21 That I may enrich them that love me, and may fill their treasures.	21 per provvedere a chi mi ama il bene, riempire i suoi tesori.
22 The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his ways, before he made any thing from the beginning.	22 Il Signore mi ha creata all'inizio del suo operare, prima delle sue opere più antiche.
23 I was set up from eternity, and of old before the earth was made.	23 Dall'eternità sono stata costituita, dall'inizio, prima dei primordi della terra.
24 The depths were not as yet, and I was already conceived. neither had the fountains of waters as yet sprung out:	24 Quando non c'erano gli abissi io fui partorita, quando non c'erano le sorgenti delle acque profonde.
25 The mountains with their huge bulk had not as yet been established: before the hills I was brought forth:	25 Prima che le montagne fossero piantate, prima delle colline io fui partorita;
26 He had not yet made the earth, nor the rivers, nor the poles of the world.	26 ancora non aveva fatto la terra e le campagne e i primi elementi della terra.
27 When he prepared the heavens, I was present: when with a certain law and compass he enclosed the depths:	27 Quando fissò il cielo, io ero là, quando stabilì il firmamento sopra la faccia dell'abisso.
28 When he established the sky above, and poised the fountains of waters:	28 Quando condensò le nuvole del cielo, quando chiuse le sorgenti dell'abisso.
29 When he compassed the sea with its bounds, and set a law to the waters that they should not pass their limits: when be balanced the foundations of the earth;	29 Quando impose al mare la sua legge, che le acque non trasgredissero la sua parola; quando fissò i fondamenti della terra,
30 I was with him forming all things: and was delighted every day, playing before him at all times;	30 io ero al suo fianco, come ordinatrice, io ero la sua delizia giorno per giorno, godendo alla sua presenza sempre,
31 Playing in the world: and my delights were to be with the children of men.	31 godendo sul suolo della terra e mia delizia erano i figli dell'uomo.
32 Now therefore, ye children, hear me: Blessed are they that keep my ways.	32 E ora, figli, ascoltatemi! Felici quelli che osservano le mie vie.
33 Hear instruction and be wise, and refuse it not.	33 Ascoltate l'ammonimento e siate saggi, non lo trascurate!
34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, and that watcheth daily at my gates, and waiteth at the posts of my doors.	34 Felice l'uomo che mi ascolta, vegliando alle mie porte ogni giorno, custodendone i battenti!
35 He that shall find me, shall find life, and shall have salvation from the Lord:	35 Sì! Chi trova me, trova la vita, e incontrerà la benevolenza del Signore.
36 But he that shall sin against me, shall hurt his own soul. All that hate me love death.	36 Ma chi mi offende, distrugge se stesso: tutti coloro che mi odiano, amano la morte!
