Proverbios 4

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Escuchen, hijos, la instrucción de un padre, presten atención, para poder comprender:	1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
2 lo que yo les doy es una sana doctrina, no abandonen mi esperanza.	2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
3 Yo también fui un hijo para mi padre, tierno y muy querido a los ojos de mi madre.	3 For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
4 El me decía para instruirme: Que tu corazón retenga mis palabras, observa mis mandamientos y vivirás.	4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
5 Adquiere la sabiduría, adquiere la inteligencia, no olvides las palabras de mi boca ni te desvíes de ellas.	5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6 No la abandones, y ella te protegerá, ámala, y ella te cuidará.	6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7 El comienzo de la sabiduría es tratar de adquirirla; con todo lo que poseas, adquiere la inteligencia.	7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
8 Apréciala al máximo, y ella te encumbrará; te glorificará, si tú la abrazas.	8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
9 Pondrá en tu cabeza una diadema de gracia, te obsequiará una corona de gloria.	9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
10 Escucha, hijo mío, y recibe mis palabras. y tus años de vida se multiplicarán.	10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
11 Yo te instruyo sobre el camino de la sabiduría, te encamino por senderos rectos.	11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
12 Cuando camines, no se acortará tu paso, y si corres, no tropezarás.	12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
13 Aférrate a la instrucción, no la sueltes; guárdala bien, porque ella es tu vida.	13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
14 No entres en la senda de los malvados ni avances por el camino de los malos.	14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
15 Evítalo, no pases por allí, desvíate de él, y pasa de largo.	15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
16 Porque ellos no duermen, si no hacen el mal; pierden el sueño, si no hacen caer a alguien,	16 For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
17 ya que se alimentan con el pan de la maldad y beben el vino de la violencia.	17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
18 La senda de los justos es como la luz del alba, que va en aumento hasta que es pleno día.	18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
19 Pero el camino de los malos es como una densa oscuridad: ellos no saben dónde van a tropezar.	19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
20 Hijo mío, presta atención a lo que te digo, inclina tu oído a mis palabras.	20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Que ellas no se aparten de tus ojos, guárdalas bien dentro de tu corazón,	21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 porque son vida para los que las encuentran y salud para todo ser viviente.	22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Con todo cuidado vigila tu corazón, porque de él brotan las fuentes de la vida.	23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Aparta de ti las palabras perversas y aleja de tus labios la malicia.	24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25 Que tus ojos miren de frente y tu mirada vaya derecho hacia adelante.	25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26 Fíjate bien dónde pones los pies y que sean firmes todos tus caminos.	26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27 No te desvíes ni a derecha ni a izquierda, aparta tus pies lejos del mal.	27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
