Gálatas 1

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Pablo, apóstol, no de parte de los hombres ni por mediación de hombre alguno, sino por Jesucristo y Dios Padre, que le resucitó de entre los muertos,	1 From Paul, an apostle appointed not by human beings nor through any human being but by JesusChrist and God the Father who raised him from the dead,
2 y todos los hermanos que conmigo están, a las Iglesias de Galacia.	2 and al the brothers who are with me, to the churches of Galatia.
3 Gracia a vosotros y paz de parte de Dios, nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo,	3 Grace and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ
4 que se entregó a sí mismo por nuestros pecados, para librarnos de este mundo perverso, según la voluntad de nuestro Dios y Padre,	4 who gave himself for our sins to liberate us from this present wicked world, in accordance with the wil ofour God and Father,
5 a quien sea la gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.	5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
6 Me maravillo de que abandonando al que os llamó por la gracia de Cristo, os paséis tan pronto a otro evangelio	6 I am astonished that you are so promptly turning away from the one who cal ed you in the grace ofChrist and are going over to a different gospel-
7 - no que haya otro, sino que hay algunos que os perturban y quieren deformar el Evangelio de Cristo -.	7 not that it is another gospel; except that there are trouble-makers among you who are seeking to pervertthe gospel of Christ.
8 Pero aun cuando nosotros mismos o un ángel del cielo os anunciara un evangelio distinto del que os hemos anunciado, ¡sea anatema!	8 But even if we ourselves or an angel from heaven preaches to you a gospel other than the one wepreached to you, let God's curse be on him.
9 Como lo tenemos dicho, también ahora lo repito: Si alguno os anuncia un evangelio distinto del que habéis recibido, ¡sea anatema!	9 I repeat again what we declared before: anyone who preaches to you a gospel other than the one youwere first given is to be under God's curse.
10 Porque ¿busco yo ahora el favor de los hombres o el de Dios? ¿O es que intento agradar a los hombres? Si todavía tratara de agradar a los hombres, ya no sería siervo de Cristo.	10 Whom am I trying to convince now, human beings or God? Am I trying to please human beings? If Iwere stil doing that I should not be a servant of Christ.
11 Porque os hago saber, hermanos, que el Evangelio anunciado por mí, no es de orden humano,	11 Now I want to make it quite clear to you, brothers, about the gospel that was preached by me, that itwas no human message.
12 pues yo no lo recibí ni aprendí de hombre alguno, sino por revelación de Jesucristo.	12 It was not from any human being that I received it, and I was not taught it, but it came to me through arevelation of Jesus Christ.
13 Pues ya estáis enterados de mi conducta anterior en el Judaísmo, cuán encarnizadamente perseguía a la Iglesia de Dios y la devastaba,	13 You have surely heard how I lived in the past, within Judaism, and how there was simply no limit to the way I persecuted the Church of God in my attempts to destroy it;
14 y cómo sobrepasaba en el Judaísmo a muchos de mis compatriotas contemporáneos, superándoles en el celo por las tradiciones de mis padres.	14 and how, in Judaism, I outstripped most of my Jewish contemporaries in my limitless enthusiasm forthe traditions of my ancestors.
15 Mas, cuando Aquel que me separó desde el seno de mi madre y me llamó por su gracia, tuvo a bien	15 But when God, who had set me apart from the time when I was in my mother's womb, cal ed methrough his grace and chose
16 revelar en mí a su Hijo, para que le anunciase entre los gentiles, al punto, sin pedir consejo ni a la carne ni a la sangre,	16 to reveal his Son in me, so that I should preach him to the gentiles, I was in no hurry to confer with anyhuman being,
17 sin subir a Jerusalén donde los apóstoles anteriores a mí, me fui a Arabia, de donde nuevamente volví a Damasco.	17 or to go up to Jerusalem to see those who were already apostles before me. Instead, I went off toArabia, and later I came back to Damascus.
18 Luego, de allí a tres años, subí a Jerusalén para conocer a Cefas y permanecí quince días en su compañía.	18 Only after three years did I go up to Jerusalem to meet Cephas. I stayed fifteen days with him
19 Y no vi a ningún otro apóstol, y sí a Santiago, el hermano del Señor.	19 but did not set eyes on any of the rest of the apostles, only James, the Lord's brother.
20 Y en lo que os escribo, Dios me es testigo de que no miento.	20 I swear before God that what I have written is the truth.
21 Luego me fui a las regiones de Siria y Cilicia;	21 After that I went to places in Syria and Cilicia;
22 pero personalmente no me conocían las Iglesias de Judea que están en Cristo.	22 and was stil unknown by sight to the churches of Judaea which are in Christ,
23 Solamente habían oído decir: «El que antes nos perseguía ahora anuncia la buena nueva de la fe que entonces quería destruir».	23 they simply kept hearing it said, 'The man once so eager to persecute us is now preaching the faiththat he used to try to destroy,'
24 Y glorificaban a Dios a causa de mí.	24 and they gave glory to God for me.
