Ezequiel 36

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Y tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza sobre los montes de Israel. Dirás: Montes de Israel, escuchad la palabra de Yahveh.	1 'Son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel. Say, "Mountains of Israel, hear the word of Yahweh.
2 Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Porque el enemigo ha dicho contra vosotros: «¡Ja, ja, estas alturas eternas han pasado a ser posesión nuestra!»,	2 The Lord Yahweh says this: Since the enemy has gloated over you by saying: Aha! These eternalheights are owned by us now,
3 por eso, profetiza. Dirás: Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Porque habéis sido asolados y se os ha codiciado por todas partes hasta pasar a ser posesión de las otras naciones, porque habéis sido el blanco de la habladuría y de la difamación de la gente,	3 very wel , prophesy! Say: The Lord Yahweh says this: Since you have been ravaged and seized onfrom al sides, and have become the property of the rest of the nations, and become the subject of people's talkand gossip,
4 por eso, escuchad, montes de Israel, la palabra del Señor Yahveh. Así dice el Señor Yahveh a los montes, a las colinas, a los barrancos y a los valles, a las ruinas desoladas y a las ciudades abandonadas que han sido entregadas al pillaje y a la irrisión del resto de las naciones circunvecinas.	4 very wel , mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh! The Lord Yahweh says this to themountains and hil s, to the ravines and val eys, to the devastated ruins and abandoned cities which have beenput to the sack and have become a laughing-stock to the rest of the nations al round;
5 Por eso, así dice el Señor Yahveh: Sí, en el ardor de mis celos voy a hablar contra las otras naciones y contra Edom entero, que, con alegría en el corazón y desprecio en el alma, se han atribuido mi tierra en posesión para entregar su pasto al pillaje.	5 very wel , the Lord Yahweh says this: I swear it in the heat of my jealousy; I am speaking to the rest ofthe nations and to the whole of Edom who so exultantly and contemptuously took possession of my country todespoil its pastureland."
6 Por ello, profetiza sobre la tierra de Israel. Dirás a los montes y a las colinas, a los barrancos y a los valles: Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Ved que hablo en mis celos y mi furor: Porque habéis sufrido el ultraje de las naciones,	6 'Because of this, prophesy about the land of Israel. Say to the mountains and hil s, to the ravines andval eys, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I am speaking in my jealousy and rage; because you are enduring theinsults of the nations,
7 por eso, así dice el Señor Yahveh: Juro mano en alto que las naciones que os rodean cargarán con sus propios ultrajes.	7 very wel , the Lord Yahweh says this: I raise my hand and I swear that the nations al around you shallhave their own insults to bear.
8 Y vosotros, montes de Israel, vais a echar vuestras ramas y a producir vuestros frutos para mi pueblo Israel, porque está a punto de volver.	8 "Mountains of Israel, you will grow branches and bear fruit for my people Israel, who wil soon return.
9 Sí, heme aquí por vosotros, a vosotros me vuelvo, vais a ser cultivados y sembrados.	9 Yes, I am coming to you, I shal turn to you; you wil be tilled and sown.
10 Yo multiplicaré sobre vosotros los hombres, la casa de Israel entera. Las ciudades serán habitadas y las ruinas reconstruidas.	10 I shal increase your population, the whole House of Israel, yes, al . The cities wil be inhabited andthe ruins rebuilt.
11 Multiplicaré en vosotros hombres y bestias, y serán numerosos y fecundos. Os repoblaré como antaño, mejoraré vuestra condición precedente, y sabréis que yo soy Yahveh.	11 I shal increase your population, both human and animal; they wil be fertile and reproduce. I shalrepopulate you as you were before; I shal make you more prosperous than you were before, and you wil knowthat I am Yahweh.
12 Haré que circulen por vosotros los hombres, mi pueblo Israel. Tomarán posesión de ti, y tu serás su heredad, y no volverás a privarles de sus hijos.	12 Thanks to me, men wil tread your soil again, my people Israel; they wil own you and you wil be theirheritage, and never again wil you rob them of their children.
13 Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Porque se ha dicho de ti que devoras a los hombres y que has privado a tu nación de hijos,	13 "The Lord Yahweh says this: Since people have said of you: You are a man-eater, you have robbedyour nation of its children,
14 por eso, ya no devorarás más hombres, ni volverás a privar de hijos a tu nación, oráculo del Señor Yahveh.	14 very well, you wil eat no more men, never rob your nation of its children again -- declares the LordYahweh.
15 No consentiré que vuelvas a oír el ultraje de las naciones, no sufrirás más los insultos de los pueblos, y no volverás a privar de hijos a tu nación, oráculo del Señor Yahveh.	15 I shal never again let you hear the insults of the nations, you wil never again have to bear the tauntsof the peoples, you wil never again rob the nation of its children -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '
16 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:	16 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
17 Hijo de hombre, los de la casa de Israel que habitaban en su tierra, la contaminaron con su conducta y sus obras; como la impureza de una menstruante era su conducta ante mí.	17 'Son of man, the members of the House of Israel used to live in their own territory, but they defiled itby their conduct and actions; to me their conduct was as unclean as a woman's menstruation.
18 Entonces yo derramé mi furor sobre ellos, por la sangre que habían vertido en su tierra y por las basuras con las que la habían contaminado.	18 I then vented my fury on them because of the blood they shed in the country and the foul idols withwhich they defiled it.
19 Los dispersé entre las naciones y fueron esparcidos por los países. Los juzgué según su conducta y sus obras.	19 I scattered them among the nations and they were dispersed throughout the countries. I sentencedthem as their conduct and actions deserved.
20 Y en las naciones donde llegaron, profanaron mi santo nombre, haciendo que se dijera a propósito de ellos: «Son el pueblo de Yahveh, y han tenido que salir de su tierra».	20 They have profaned my holy name among the nations where they have gone, so that people say ofthem, "These are the people of Yahweh; they have been exiled from his land."
21 Pero yo he tenido consideración a mi santo nombre que la casa de Israel profanó entre las naciones adonde había ido.	21 But I have been concerned about my holy name, which the House of Israel has profaned among thenations where they have gone.
22 Por eso, di a la casa de Israel: Así dice el Señor Yahveh: No hago esto por consideración a vosotros, casa de Israel, sino por mi santo nombre, que vosotros habéis profanado entre las naciones adonde fuisteis.	22 And so, say to the House of Israel, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I am acting not for your sake, Houseof Israel, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone.
23 Yo santificaré mi gran nombre profanado entre las naciones, profanado allí por vosotros. Y las naciones sabrán que yo soy Yahveh - oráculo del Señor Yahveh - cuando yo, por medio de vosotros, manifieste mi santidad a la vista de ellos.	23 I am going to display the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations,which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am Yahweh -- declares the Lord Yahweh-- when in you I display my holiness before their eyes.
24 Os tomaré de entre las naciones, os recogeré de todos los países y os llevaré a vuestro suelo.	24 For I shall take you from among the nations and gather you back from al the countries, and bring youhome to your own country.
25 Os rociaré con agua pura y quedaréis purificados; de todas vuestras impurezas y de todas vuestras basuras os purificaré.	25 I shal pour clean water over you and you wil be cleansed; I shal cleanse you of all your filth and ofal your foul idols.
26 Y os daré un corazón nuevo, infundiré en vosotros un espíritu nuevo, quitaré de vuestra carne el corazón de piedra y os daré un corazón de carne.	26 I shal give you a new heart, and put a new spirit in you; I shal remove the heart of stone from yourbodies and give you a heart of flesh instead.
27 Infundiré mi espíritu en vosotros y haré que os conduzcáis según mis preceptos y observéis y practiquéis mis normas.	27 I shal put my spirit in you, and make you keep my laws, and respect and practise my judgements.
28 Habitaréis la tierra que yo di a vuestros padres. Vosotros seréis mi pueblo y yo seré vustro Dios.	28 You wil live in the country which I gave your ancestors. You wil be my people and I shal be yourGod.
29 Os salvaré de todas vuestras impurezas, llamaré al trigo y lo multiplicaré y no os someteré más al hambre.	29 I shal save you from everything that defiles you, I shal summon the wheat and make it plentiful andimpose no more famines on you.
30 Multiplicaré los frutos de los árboles y los productos de los campos, para que no sufráis más el oprobio del hambre entre las naciones.	30 I shal increase the yield of tree and field, so that you wil never again bear the ignominy of famineamong the nations.
31 Entonces os acordaréis de vuestra mala conducta y de vuestras acciones que no eran buenas, y sentiréis asco de vosotros mismos por vuestras culpas y vuestras abominaciones.	31 Then you wil remember your evil conduct and actions. You will loathe yourselves for your guilt andyour loathsome practices.
32 No hago esto por vosotros - oráculo del Señor Yahveh - sabedlo bien. Avergonzaos y confundíos de vuestra conducta, casa de Israel.	32 I assure you that I am not doing this for your sake -- declares the Lord Yahweh. Be ashamed andblush for your conduct, House of Israel.
33 Así dice el Señor Yahveh: El día que yo os purifique de todas vuestras culpas, repoblaré las ciudades y las ruinas serán reconstruidas;	33 "The Lord Yahweh says this: On the day I cleanse you from all your guilt, I shall repopulate the citiesand cause the ruins to be rebuilt.
34 la tierra devastada será cultivada, después de haber sido una desolación a los ojos de todos los transeúntes.	34 Waste land, once desolate for every passer-by to see, will now be farmed again.
35 Y se dirá: «Esta tierra, hasta ahora devastada, se ha hecho como jardín de Edén, y las ciudades en ruinas, devastadas y demolidas, están de nuevo fortificadas y habitadas».	35 And people wil say: This land, so recently a waste, is now like a garden of Eden, and the ruinedcities once abandoned and levelled to the ground are now strongholds with people living in them.
36 Y las naciones que quedan a vuestro alrededor sabrán que yo, Yahveh, he reconstruido lo que estaba demolido y he replantado lo que estaba devastado. Yo, Yahveh, lo digo y lo hago.	36 And the nations left round you wil know that I, Yahweh, have rebuilt what was levelled and replantedwhat was ruined. I, Yahweh, have spoken and shall do it.
37 Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Me dejaré todavía buscar por la casa de Israel, para hacer por ellos esto: multiplicarlos como un rebaño humano,	37 "The Lord Yahweh says this: As a further mark of favour, I shal let myself be consulted by the Houseof Israel; I shal increase their numbers like a human flock,
38 como un rebaño de reses consagradas, como el rebaño reunido en Jerusalén, en las fiestas solemnes. Así se llenarán de un rebaño humano vuestras ciudades en ruinas, y se sabrá que yo soy Yahveh.	38 like a flock of sacrificial animals, like the flock in Jerusalem on her solemn feasts. So your ruinedcities will be fil ed with human flocks, and they wil know that I am Yahweh." '
