BIBLIA	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Bildad de Súaj tomó la palabra y dijo:	1 Bildad the Shuhite spoke out and said:
2 ¿Hasta cuándo estarás hablando de ese modo, y un gran viento serán las razones de tu boca?	2 How long will you utter such things? The words from your mouth are like a mighty wind!
3 ¿Acaso Dios tuerce el derecho, Sadday pervierte la justicia?	3 Does God pervert judgment, and does the Almighty distort justice?
4 Si tus hijos pecaron contra él, ya los dejó a merced de sus delitos.	4 If your children have sinned against him and he has left them in the grip of their guilt,
5 Mas si tú a Dios recurres e imploras a Sadday,	5 Still, if you yourself have recourse to God and make supplication to the Almighty,
6 si eres irreprochable y recto, desde ahora él velará sobre ti y restaurará tu morada de justicia.	6 Should you be blameless and upright, surely now he will awake for you and restore your rightful domain;
7 Tu pasado parecerá insignificante el lado de tu espléndido futuro.	7 Your former state will be of little moment, for in time to come you will flourish indeed.
8 Pregunta, si no, a la generación pasada, medita en la experiencia de sus padres.	8 If you inquire of the former generations, and give heed to the experience of the fathers
9 Nosotros de ayer somos y no sabemos nada, como una sombra nuestros días en la tierra.	9 (As we are but of yesterday and have no knowledge, because our days on earth are but a shadow),
10 Pero ellos te instruirán y te hablarán, y de su corazón sacarán estas máximas:	10 Will they not teach you and tell you and utter their words of understanding?
11 «¿Brota acaso el papiro sin marismas? ¿Crece sin agua el junco?	11 Can the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the reed grass flourish without water?
12 Aún en su verdor, sin ser cortado, antes que toda otra hierba se marchita.	12 While it is yet green and uncut, it withers quicker than any grass.
13 Tal es el fin de los que a Dios olvidan, así fenece la esperanza del impío.	13 So is the end of everyone who forgets God, and so shall the hope of the godless man perish.
14 Su confianza es un hilo solamente, su seguridad una tela de araña.	14 His confidence is but a gossamer thread and his trust is a spider's web.
15 Se apoya en su morada, y no le aguanta, se agarra a ella y no resiste.	15 He shall rely upon his family, but it shall not last; he shall cling to it, but it shall not endure.
16 Bien regado ante la faz del sol, por encima de su huerto salían sus renuevos.	16 He is full of sap before sunrise, and beyond his garden his shoots go forth;
17 Sobre un majano entrelazadas sus raíces, vivía en una casa de piedra.	17 About a heap of stones are his roots entwined; among the rocks he takes hold.
18 Mas cuando se le arranca de su sitio, éste le niega: “¡No te he visto jamás!”	18 Yet if one tears him from his place, it will disown him: "I have never seen you!"
19 Y vedle ya cómo se pudre en el camino, mientras que del suelo brotan otros.»	19 There he lies rotting beside the road, and out of the soil another sprouts.
20 No, Dios no rechaza al íntegro, ni da la mano a los malvados.	20 Behold, God will not cast away the upright; neither will he take the hand of the wicked.
21 La risa ha de llenar aún tu boca y tus labios el clamor de júbilo.	21 Once more will he fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with rejoicing.
22 Tus enemigos serán cubiertos de vergüenza, y desaparecerá la tienda de los malos.	22 They that hate you shall be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked shall be no more.
