BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Tenía Jotam veinticinco años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dieciséis años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Yerusá, hija de Sadoq.	1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne and he reigned for sixteen years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Jerushah daughter of Zadok.
2 Hizo lo recto a los ojos de Yahveh, enteramente como lo hizo su padre Ozías, salvo que no penetró en el Templo de Yahveh. El pueblo, sin embargo, seguía corrompiéndose.	2 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his father Uzziah had done. Only he did not enterYahweh's sanctuary. But the people continued to do wrong.
3 Construyó la Puerta Superior de la Casa de Yahveh, e hizo muchas obras en los muros de Ofel.	3 It was he who built the Upper Gate of the Temple of Yahweh and carried out considerable work on thewal of the Ophel.
4 Edificó también ciudades en la montaña de Judá, y edificó castillos y torres en las tierras de labor.	4 He also built towns in the highlands of Judah and built forts and towers in the wooded areas.
5 Hizo guerra contra el rey de los ammonitas, a los que venció. Los ammonitas le dieron aquel año cien talentos de plata, 10.000 cargas de trigo y 10.000 de cebada. Los ammonitas le trajeron lo mismo el año segundo y el tercero.	5 He also went to war against the king of the Ammonites and defeated them; and the Ammonites had togive him a hundred talents of silver, ten thousand kor of wheat and ten thousand of barley that year. And theAmmonites paid him the same amount, the second and third years afterwards.
6 Jotam llegó a ser poderoso, porque se afirmó en los caminos de Yahveh su Dios.	6 Jotham became powerful because he kept an unswerving course before Yahweh his God.
7 El resto de los hechos de Jotam, todas sus guerras y sus obras, están escritos en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá.	7 The rest of the history of Jotham, al his wars and his policy, are recorded in the Book of the Kings ofIsrael and Judah.

9 Acostóse Jotam con sus padres, y le sepultaron en la Ciudad de David. En su lugar reinó su hijo Ajaz.	9 Then Jotham fel asleep with his ancestors, and was buried in the City of David; his son Ahazsucceeded him.
