1 Nabucodonosor fece una statua d'oro di altezza di cubiti LX, e di larghezza di sei cubiti; e collocolla nel campo, chiamato Dura, della provincia di Babilonia.	1 King Nebuchadnezzar had a golden statue made, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, which he set up in the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.
2 E dopo questo mandò Nabucodonosor a congregare li satrapi e li magistrati e li giudici, duchi e tiranni, e li prefetti e tutti li principi delle regioni, acciò che convenissero alla consecrazione della statua, la qual avea dirizzata Nabucodonosor re.	2 He then ordered the satraps, prefects, and governors, the counselors, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the officials of the provinces to be summoned to the dedication of the statue which he had set up.
3 In quel tempo si congregorono i savii, li magistrati e li giudici, li duchi e li tiranni e li più onorati, i quali erano nelle dignitadi constituiti, e tutti li principi delle regioni, acciò che convenissero alla dedicazione della statua la qual avea levata Nabucodonosor re; e stavano tutti nel conspetto della statua, la qual avea posta Nabucodonosor re.	3 The satraps, prefects, and governors, the counselors, treasurers, judges, and magistrates and all the officials of the provinces, all these came together for the dedication and stood before the statue which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
4 E il trombetta chiamò valentemente: a voi, popoli, si fa lo comandamento, e a voi, tribù e lingue.	4 A herald cried out: "Nations and peoples of every language, when you hear the sound of the trumpet, flute, lyre, harp, psaltery, bagpipe, and all the other musical instruments,
5 Nell' ora, nella quale udirete il suono della tromba e della pifara e della citara e della sinfonia, del salterio e della lira, e di tutta la generazione de' stromenti, chinati in terra adorate la statua d'oro, la qual ha ordinato Nabucodonosor re.	5 you are ordered to fall down and worship the golden statue which King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.
6 E se alcuno non chinato in terra adorerà, in quella medesima ora fia posto nella fornace del fuoco ardente.	6 Whoever does not fall down and worship shall be instantly cast into a white-hot furnace."
7 Dopo questo adunque, subito quando udirono tutti i popoli il suono della tuba, della pifara, della citara, della sinfonia, del salterio e della lira e di tutta l'altra generazione di stromenti, si gittorono in terra tutti i popoli e le tribù e (tutte le genti di diverse lingue), e adorarono la statua d' oro, la qual avea constituita Nabucodonosor re.	7 Therefore, as soon as they heard the sound of the trumpet, flute, lyre, harp, psaltery, bagpipe, and all the other musical instruments, the nations and peoples of every language all fell down and worshiped the golden statue which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
8 E in quel tempo andarono uomini caldei, e accusorono i giudei.	8 At that point, some of the Chaldeans came and accused the Jews
9 E dissero a Nabucodonosor re: o signor re, vivi in eterno.	9 to King Nebuchadnezzar: "O king, live forever!
10 Tu, re, facesti lo comandamento, che ogni uomo il quale udirà il suono della tuba, della pifara, della sinfonia, della citara, salterio e lira, e di tutta l'altra diversità di stromenti, si chini a terra, e adori la statua d'oro.	10 O king, you issued a decree that everyone who heard the sound of the trumpet, flute, lyre, harp, psaltery, bagpipe, and all the other musical instruments should fall down and worship the golden statue;
11 E se alcuno non chinato adorerà, sia gittato nella fornace del fuoco ardente.	11 whoever did not was to be cast into a white-hot furnace.
12 Sono adunque alcuni uomini giudei, i quali tu hai constituito sopra tutte le opere della regione di Babilonia, Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago; o signor re, questi uomini hanno dispregiato il tuo comandamento; li tuoi dei non adorano, e la statua d' oro, la quale tu hai dirizzata, non adorano.	12 There are certain Jews whom you have made administrators of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego; these men, O king, have paid no attention to you; they will not serve your god or worship the golden statue which you set up."
13 Allora Nabucodonosor nel furore e nell' ira sua comandò che fosseno menati Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago; i quali presto furono menati nel conspetto del re.	13 Nebuchadnezzar flew into a rage and sent for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who were promptly brought before the king.
14 E parlando Nabucodonosor re, disse a loro: è questo vero, o Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago, che voi non adorate li miei dei, e la statua d' oro, la quale io ho constituita, non adorate?	14 King Nebuchadnezzar questioned them: "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you will not serve my god, or worship the golden statue that I set up?
15 Ora dunque se voi siete parati, che ogni ora che voi udirete il suono della tuba, pifara, citara, sinfonia, salterio e lira, e di tutti gli altri stromenti, gittatevi in terra, e adorate la statua la qual io ho fatta; e se in quella ora voi non adorerete, sarete gettati nella fornace del fuoco ardente; e chi è Dio, che vi possi liberare della mano mia?	15 Be ready now to fall down and worship the statue I had made, whenever you hear the sound of the trumpet, flute, lyre, harp, psaltery, bagpipe, and all the other musical instruments; otherwise, you shall be instantly cast into the white-hot furnace; and who is the God that can deliver you out of my hands?"
16 Rispondendo Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago, dissero a Nabucodonosor re: non è bisogno a noi risponder di queste cose a te.	16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered King Nebuchadnezzar, "There is no need for us to defend ourselves before you in this matter.
17 Ecco che lo nostro Iddio, lo quale noi adoriamo, è potente di liberarci della fornace del fuoco ardente, e liberarci delle tue mani, o re.	17 If our God, whom we serve, can save us from the white-hot furnace and from your hands, O king, may he save us!
18 La qual cosa se non la volesse fare, siati manifesto, re, che noi non vogliamo adorare i tuoi dei, e la statua d'oro, la qual tu hai dirizzata, noi non adoriamo.	18 But even if he will not, know, O king, that we will not serve your god or worship the golden statue which you set up."
19 Allora Nabucodonosor si riempio di furore, e lo aspetto della sua faccia si mutoe sopra di Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago; e comandò che la fornace si accendesse sette volte più di quello che la si suole accendere.	19 Nebuchadnezzar's face became livid with utter rage against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He ordered the furnace to be heated seven times more than usual
20 E comandò alli uomini fortissimi dello suo esercito, che legati li piedi di Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago, li gittassero nella fornace del fuoco ardente.	20 and had some of the strongest men in his army bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and cast them into the white-hot furnace.
21 E di tratta quelli uomini legati, con le loro brache e mitre e calze e vesti, furono posti nel mezzo della fornace del fuoco ardente.	21 They were bound and cast into the white-hot furnace with their coats, hats, shoes and other garments,
22 Però che lo comandamento del re costrignea, e la fornace era accesa molto. E dopo questo, quelli uomini i quali aveano posti Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago, furono morti dalla fiamma del fuoco.	22 for the king's order was urgent. So huge a fire was kindled in the furnace that the flames devoured the men who threw Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into it.
23 E questi tre uomini, cioè Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago, cantarono nel mezzo della fornace del fuoco ardente, collegati. Questo che sèguita non si trova nelli libri ebrei.	23 But these three fell, bound, into the midst of the white-hot furnace.
24 E andavano per lo mezzo della fiamma, laudando Iddio, e benedicendo allo Signore.	24 They walked about in the flames, singing to God and blessing the Lord.
25 E stando Azaria orò in questo modo, e aprendo la bocca sua in mezzo del fuoco, disse:	25 In the fire Azariah stood up and prayed aloud:
26 Benedetto sei, Signore Iddio delli padri nostri, e laudabile e glorioso [il nome tuo] nelli secoli.	26 "Blessed are you, and praiseworthy, O Lord, the God of our fathers, and glorious forever is your name.
27 Però che tu (Signore) se' giusto in tutte le cose che tu facesti a noi, e tutte le tue opere sono vere, e le tue vie rette, e tutti li tuoi giudicii veri.	27 For you are just in all you have done; all your deeds are faultless, all your ways right, and all your judgments proper.
28 Però che tu hai fatto veri giudicii, secondo tutte le cose che tu hai indotto sopra di noi, e sopra la città santa Ierusalem de' padri nostri; però che in verità e in giudicio tu hai indotto tutte queste cose per i peccati nostri.	28 You have executed proper judgments in all that you have brought upon us and upon Jerusalem, the holy city of our fathers. By a proper judgment you have done all this because of our sins;
29 Noi abbiamo peccato e abbiamo operato iniquamente, partendoci da te; e abbiamo prevaricato in ogni cosa.	29 For we have sinned and transgressed by departing from you, and we have done every kind of evil.
30 E li comandamenti tuoi non abbiamo udito, nè abbiamo osservato; nè abbiamo fatto come tu ci comandasti, acciò che le cose ci succedessero bene.	30 Your commandments we have not heeded or observed, nor have we done as you ordered us for our good.
31 Tutte le cose dunque, le quali hai indotte sopra di noi, e tutte le cose, che ci hai fatto, per vero giudicio l' hai tu fatto.	31 Therefore all you have brought upon us, all you have done to us,you have done by a proper judgment.
32 E hai dato noi nelle mani delli iniqui inimici, e delli pessimi prevaricatori, e ad uno re ingiusto e pessimo sopra ogni terra.	32 You have handed us over to our enemies, lawless and hateful rebels; to an unjust king, the worst in all the world.
33 E ora non possiamo aprire la bocca; noi siamo fatti confusione e obbrobrio alli servi tuoi, e a tutti quelli che ti amano.	33 Now we cannot open our mouths; we, your servants, who revere you, have become a shame and a reproach.
34 Noi dunque ti preghiamo: non ci lasciar a questo modo sempre per lo nome tuo, e non dissipare lo testamento tuo.	34 For your name's sake, do not deliver us up forever, or make void your covenant.
35 E non rimovere la tua misericordia da noi, per lo amore di Abraam diletto tuo, e di Isaac servo tuo, e di Israel santo tuo.	35 Do not take away your mercy from us, for the sake of Abraham, your beloved, Isaac your servant, and Israel your holy one,
36 Alli quali tu hai parlato, promettendogli che tu multiplicheresti lo seme loro, come le stelle del cielo, e come l'arena ch' è nel lido del mare.	36 To whom you promised to multiply their offspring like the stars of heaven, or the sand on the shore of the sea.
37 Però [che], Signore, noi siamo sminuiti più che tutte le genti, e siamo abbassati (e oppressi) in tutta la terra oggi per li peccati nostri.	37 For we are reduced, O Lord, beyond any other nation, brought low everywhere in the world this day because of our sins.
38 E non è in questo tempo principe nè profeta nè duca nè olocausto nè sacrificio nè oblazione nè incenso nè luogo di primizie dinanzi a te,	38 We have in our day no prince, prophet, or leader, no holocaust, sacrifice, oblation, or incense, no place to offer first fruits, to find favor with you.
39 acciò che noi possiamo trovar la misericordia tua; ma siamo ricevuti nella contrizione dell' anima nostra, e nel spirito della umilità nostra.	39 But with contrite heart and humble spirit let us be received;
40 Così si faccia il sacrificio nostro oggi nel conspetto tuo, acciò che ti piaccia, come lo sacrificio de' montoni e de' tori, e come li sacrificii che si facevano nelle migliaia delli agnelli grassi; però che quelli che si confidano di te non riceveranno confusione.	40 As though it were holocausts of rams and bullocks, or thousands of fat lambs, So let our sacrifice be in your presence today as we follow you unreservedly; for those who trust in you cannot be put to shame.
41 E ora ti seguitiamo in tutto il cuore nostro, e temiamo te, e cerchiamo la faccia tua.	41 And now we follow you with our whole heart, we fear you and we pray to you.
42 Non ci confondere; ma fa nosco secondo la mansuetudine tua, e secondo la moltitudine della tua misericordia.	42 Do not let us be put to shame, but deal with us in your kindness and great mercy.
43 E liberaci nelli tuoi fatti maravigliosi, e dà gloria al nome tuo, Signore;	43 Deliver us by your wonders, and bring glory to your name, O Lord:
44 acciò che si confondano tutti quelli che dimostrano l'opere cattive alli tuoi servi; siano confusi in tutta la potenza tua, e la fortezza loro sia disfatta.	44 Let all those be routed who inflict evils on your servants; Let them be shamed and powerless, and their strength broken;
45 E sapranno che tu sei solo Signore Iddio, e glorioso in tutto il mondo.	45 Let them know that you alone are the Lord God, glorious over the whole world."
46 E non cessavano i ministri del re, i quali erano mandati, di accendere la fornace collo nafta (lo quale è una materia d'accender fuoco, la qual nasce in Caldea) e colla stoppa e pece e fascine.	46 Now the king's men who had thrown them in continued to stoke the furnace with brimstone, pitch, tow, and faggots.
47 E saliva la fiamma sopra la fornace cubiti XLIX.	47 The flames rose forty-nine cubits above the furnace,
48 E uscì, e abbruciò tutti quelli che trovò appo la fornace delli Caldei.	48 and spread out, burning the Chaldeans nearby.
49 E l'angelo del Signore discese con Azaria e li suoi compagni in la fornace, e amosse la fiamma del fuoco della fornace.	49 But the angel of the Lord went down into the furnace with Azariah and his companions, drove the fiery flames out of the furnace,
50 E fece il mezzo della fornace come uno vento fresco sotliante; e il fuoco non li toccò punto, nè li contristoe, e non li fece alcuna offesa.	50 and made the inside of the furnace as though a dew-laden breeze were blowing through it. The fire in no way touched them or caused them pain or harm.
51 Allora questi tre cominciorono a laudare Iddio, come se uscisse la lode da una bocca; e glorificavano e benedicevano Iddio nella fornace, dicendo:	51 Then these three in the furnace with one voice sang, glorifying and blessing God:
52 Benedetto sei tu, Signore Dio de' padri nostri, e laudabile e glorioso e sopra esaltato nelli secoli; e benedetto sia il nome santo della gloria tua, e laudabile e sopra esaltato in tutti i secoli.	52 "Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of our fathers, praiseworthy and exalted above all forever; And blessed is your holy and glorious name, praiseworthy and exalted above all for all ages.
53 Benedetto sei nel tempio santo della gloria tua; e sopra laudabile e sopra esaltato nei secoli.	53 Blessed are you in the temple of your holy glory, praiseworthy and glorious above all forever.
54 Benedetto sei nel trono del regno tuo; e sopra laudabile e sopra esaltato nelli secoli.	54 Blessed are you on the throne of your kingdom, praiseworthy and exalted above all forever.
55 Benedetto sei tu il quale conosci gli abissi, e siedi sopra i cherubini: laudabile e sopra esaltato nelli secoli.	55 Blessed are you who look into the depths from your throne upon the cherubim, praiseworthy and exalted above all forever.
56 Benedetto sei nel firmamento del cielo; e laudabile e glorioso ne' secoli.	56 Blessed are you in the firmament of heaven, praiseworthy and glorious forever.

For he has delivered us from the nether world, and saved us from the power of death; He has freed us from the raging flame and delivered us from the fire.
89 Confessatevi al Signore, peró ch' egli è buono; e per che la sua misericordia è nel secolo.	89 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever.
90 Benedicete, tutti voi religiosi, il Signore Iddio degli Dei; lodatelo e confessatevi a lui, però che la misericordia sua è in tutti i secoli. 91 Allora Nabucodonosor re rimase stupefatto; levossi in fretta, e disse alli suoi principi e savii: or non mettemmo tre uomini nel mezzo del fuoco colli piedi legati? I quali, rispondendo al re, dissero: egli è (così), vero re.	91 King Nebuchadnezzar rose in haste and asked his nobles, "Did we not cast three men bound into the fire?" "Assuredly, O king," they answered.
92 Rispose il re, e disse: ecco che io veggo quattro uomini sciolti, i quali deàmbulano per lo mezzo del fuoco, e non è in loro alcuna lesione, (e non sono tocchi del fuoco), e la similitudine del quarto è simile al figliuolo di Dio.	92 "But," he replied, "I see four men unfettered and unhurt, walking in the fire, and the fourth looks like a son of God."
93 Allora Nabucodonosor se n' andò alla bocca. della fornace del fuoco ardente, e disse: Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago, servi di Dio eccelso (vivente), uscite fuori, e venite. E allora uscirono sùbito fuori Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago di mezzo del fuoco.	93 Then Nebuchadnezzar came to the opening of the white-hot furnace and called to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: "Servants of the most high God, come out." Thereupon Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the fire.
94 E congregati li principi e li magistrati e li giudici e li potenti del re contemplavano quelli uomini, però che il fuoco non ebbe alcuna potestà sopra li corpi loro, e pur uno capello del capo loro non era arso, e le sue brache e vestimenta non erano immutate, e l' ardore del fuoco non le avea tocche.	94 When the satraps, prefects, governors, and nobles of the king came together, they saw that the fire had had no power over the bodies of these men; not a hair of their heads had been singed, nor were their garments altered; there was not even a smell of fire about them.
95 E cominciò a parlare Nabucodonosor, e disse: benedetto sia il Signore di costoro, cioè Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago, lo quale mandò l'angelo suo, e liberò li servi suoi, i quali credèro in lui, e mutorono la parola del re, e diedero i corpi suoi (ad ogni supplicio) per non servire nè adorare alcuno. altro iddio fuori che il suo.	95 Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who sent his angel to deliver the servants that trusted in him; they disobeyed the royal command and yielded their bodies rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.
96 Da me dunque sì è posto questo statuto e legge, che chiunque popolo, tribù e (generazione di) lingua parlerà alcuna blasfemia contro lo Dio di Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago, sia disperso lui, e la casa sua sia distrutta; certo non si truova altro Dio, che possi salvare in questo modo.	96 Therefore I decree for nations and peoples of every language that whoever blasphemes the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be cut to pieces and his house destroyed. For there is no other God who can rescue like this."
97 Allora il re instituì e ordinò Sidrac, Misac e Abdenago sopra la provincia di Babilonia.	97 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.
98 Nabucodonosor re a tutti i popoli, genti e lingue, li quali àbitano in tutta la terra: la pace sia multiplicata in voi.	98 King Nebuchadnezzar to the nations and peoples of every language, wherever they dwell on earth: abundant peace!
99 Grandi segni e maravigliose opere ha fatto appo me Dio eccelso. A me è piaciuto di predicare	99 It has seemed good to me to publish the signs and wonders which the most high God has accomplished in my regard.
100 li segni suoi, però che grandi sono e maravigliosi, però che sono (potenti e) forti; e lo suo reame è reame sempiterno, e la sua potenza si estende di generazione in generazione.	100 How great are his signs, how mighty his wonders; his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion endures through all generations.
