1 Tutto quello che avea portato il padre suo David, auro ed ariento e tutte le vasa, puose Salomone nel tesoro della casa del Signore (Iddio d' Israel).	1 When all the work undertaken by Solomon for the temple of the LORD had been completed, he brought in the dedicated offerings of his father David, putting the silver, the gold and all the other articles in the treasuries of the house of God.
2 Dopo questo, Salomone congregoe tutti quelli d' Israel i quali erano maggiori per nascimento, tutti i principi della tribù e capi delle famiglie de' figliuoli d'Israel in Ierusalem, per portare l'arca del patto del Signore della città di David, la quale è in Sion.	2 At Solomon's order the elders of Israel and all the leaders of the tribes, the princes of the Israelite ancestral houses, came to Jerusalem to bring up the ark of the LORD'S covenant from the City of David (which is Zion).
3 E vennero al re tutti gli uomini d' Israel (in Ierusalem) il dì solenne del settimo mese.	3 All the men of Israel assembled before the king during the festival of the seventh month.
4 E venuti tutti gli antichi d' Israel, i Leviti portarono l'arca,	4 When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the Levites took up the ark,
5 e tutti gli apparecchiamenti del tabernacolo; e le vasa del santuario, le quali erano nel tabernacolo, portarono i sacerdoti con esso i Leviti.	5 and they carried the ark and the meeting tent with all the sacred vessels that were in the tent; it was the levitical priests who carried them.
6 E il re Salomone e tutto il popolo d' Israel e tutti quelli ch' erano raunati davanti l'arca sacrifica vano i montoni e' buoi senza numero; ed era tanta la moltitudine delle vittime.	6 King Solomon and the entire community of Israel gathered about him before the ark were sacrificing sheep and oxen so numerous that they could not be counted or numbered.
7 E i sacerdoti puosero l'arca del patto del Signore nel luogo suo, cioè nell' oracolo del tempio in SANCTA SANCTORUM sotto l' ali de' cherubini;	7 The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place beneath the wings of the cherubim in the sanctuary, the holy of holies of the temple.
8 sì che spandeano le ali sopra il luogo nel quale era posta l' arca, e copriano l'arca con le sue stanghe.	8 The cherubim had their wings spread out over the place of the ark, sheltering the ark and its poles from above.
9 Ma le capita delle stanghe con le quali si portava l'arca, ch' erano uno poco più lunghe, sì pareano dinanzi all' oracolo; ma se alcuno fosse stato uno poco di fuori, non le potea vedere. E istette ivi l'arca insino al dì presente.	9 The poles were long enough so that their ends could be seen from that part of the holy place nearest the sanctuary; however, they could not be seen beyond. The ark has remained there to this day.
10 E nell' arca non era, se non due tavole, le quali v’avea poste Moisè in Oreb, quando il Signore diede la legge alli figliuoli d' Israel uscendo d' Egitto.	10 There was nothing in it but the two tablets which Moses put there on Horeb, the tablets of the covenant which the LORD made with the Israelites at their departure from Egypt.
11 E usciti i sacerdoti del santuario; però che tutti i sacerdoti che ivi s'erano potuti ritrovare erano santificati; e ancora in quello tempo l'ordine del ministerio dei Leviti non era partito tra loro;	11 When the priests came out of the holy place (all the priests who were present had purified themselves without reference to the rotation of their various classes),
12 così i Leviti come i cantori, cioè quelli che erano sotto Asaf, e ch' erano sotto Eman e sotto Iditun, e i figliuoli e fratelli loro, vestiti di bisso, suonavano con cimbali, salteri e chitarre, istando dalla parte d'oriente dello altare, e con esso loro CXX sacerdoti, cantanti con trombe.	12 the Levites who were singers, all who belonged to Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and brothers, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps and lyres, stood east of the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets.
13 E così tutti egualmente, cantando con voce e con trombe e con cembali e con organi e diversi istrumenti di musica, e mandando la voce molto, il suono s'udia da lungi; sì che cominciando a laudare Iddio, e a dire: confessatevi al Signore, però ch' egli sè buono, e la sua misericordia si è in eterno, la casa del Signore si empieo di nuvoli.	13 When the trumpeters and singers were heard as a single voice praising and giving thanks to the LORD, and when they raised the sound of the trumpets, cymbals and other musical instruments to "give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever," the building of the LORD'S temple was filled with a cloud.
14 E non poteano i sacerdoti stare e ministrare per la caligine; però che la gloria di Dio avea empiuta la casa del Signore.	14 The priests could not continue to minister because of the cloud, since the LORD'S glory filled the house of God.
