BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 E fermò il re Salomone di edificare la casa al nome del Signore, e a sè uno palagio.	1 And Solomon allocated seventy thousand men to be porters and eighty thousand to quarry in the hillsand three thousand six hundred overseers for them.
2 E numerò LXX milia d' uomini i quali portassero nelle spalle, LXXX milia i quali tagliassero le pietre nel monte, e loro preposti tremilia secento.	2 And Solomon sent this message to Huram king of Tyre, 'Do as you did for my father David when yousent him cedars for him to build himself a palace to live in.
3 E mandò a dire ad Iram re di Tiro: sì come tu facesti col mio padre David, e mandastigli legno di cedro, per fare casa a sè, nella quale egli abitoe;	3 You see, I am building a house for the name of Yahweh my God, to acknowledge his holiness so thatperfumed incense may be burnt before him, the loaves of permanent offering be perpetual y laid out and theburnt offerings be made morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, New Moons and solemn festivals of Yahwehour God, as prescribed to Israel for ever;
4 così fa meco, acciò ch' io edifichi casa al nome del mio Iddio, e ch' io la consacri ad offerire l'incenso nel cospetto suo, e a fare il fumo delle spezie, e a sempiterna proposizione di pani e olocausti, la mattina e al vespro, ne' sabati e neomenie e solennitadi del nostro Signore Iddio in sempiterno, le quali sono comandate ad Israel.	4 and the house which I am building must be large, for our God is greater than al gods;
5 E la casa la quale io desidero di edificare è grande; però che il nostro Iddio sì è grande sopra tutti gli Dii.	5 even so, who would not find it an impossible task to build a house for him, when the heavens and theheavens of the heavens cannot contain him? And who am I to build a house for him except to burn incensebefore him?
6 Onde sarà chi possa bastare ad edificare [a lui] degna casa? Se il cielo e i cieli non possono contenere lui, quanto sono io che a lui possa edificare casa? ma a questo solo, che sia sacrificato lo incenso dinanzi a lui.	6 So now send me a man skil ed at working in gold, silver, bronze, iron, scarlet, crimson and violetmaterials, and who knows the art of engraving too; he is to work with my skil ed men in Judah and Jerusalem,whom my father David has provided.
7 E però mandami uno uomo ammaestrato, il quale sappia adoperare in oro, ariento, metallo e ferro e porpora e coccino e iacinto, e che sappia iscolpire le figure, con quelli artefici i quali io hoe meco in Giudea e in Ierusalem, i quali apparecchioe il mio padre David.	7 Also send me cedar, juniper and algum trunks from the Lebanon, for I know that your servants knowthe art of fel ing timber in the Lebanon. And, my servants will work with your servants
8 E mandami legnami di de' pini del monte Libano. Io sanno tagliare il legname nel servi tuoi coi servi miei, cedro, e legni tini e soe che i servi tuoi Libano; e saranno i servi tuoi coi servi miei,	8 in preparing a vast quantity of timber for me, since the house which I intend to build is to be of a size tomarvel at.
9 acciò che m' apparecchino molto legname; però che la casa, la quale io desidero di edificare, sì (come) è molto grande e nobile.	9 Furthermore, for the upkeep of the woodcutters whom you employ to cut the timber, I shal providetwenty thousand kor of wheat, twenty thousand kor of barley, twenty thousand bat of wine and twenty thousandbat of oil.'
10 E per questo a' servi tuoi operarii, che taglieranno il legname, io gli darò per loro cibo XX milia cori di grano, e altrettanti d' orzo, e XX milia sati d'olio.	10 In a letter sent to King Solomon, Huram king of Tyre replied, 'Because Yahweh loves his people hehas made you their king!'
11 E disse Iram re di Tiro, per lettere le quali mandò a Salomone: però che il Signore hae amato il suo popolo, perciò t' ha fatto regnare sopra esso.	11 Huram went on to say, 'Praised be Yahweh, God of Israel, who made heaven and earth and has givenKing David a wise son, endowed with discretion and discernment, to build a house for Yahweh and a palace inwhich to reign!-
12 E aggiunse dicendo: benedetto il Signore Iddio d'Israel, il quale fece il cielo e la terra, il quale hae dato a David figliuolo savio e ammaestrato, e con senno e prudenza, a edificare casa al Signore e palazzo a sè.	12 I am now sending you a skil ed and intelligent man, Huram-Abi
13 Onde io ti mandai uno uomo prudente e savissimo Iram padre mio,	13 the son of a Danite woman by a Tyrian father. He knows the arts of working in gold, silver, bronze,iron, stone, wood, scarlet, violet, fine linen and crimson materials, and is competent to carry out any kind ofengraving and to execute any design which may be entrusted to him, in col aboration with your skilled men andthose of my lord David, your father.
14 figliuolo d'una femina delle figliuole di Dan, il padre del quale fu di Tiro, il quale sae lavorare in oro e in ariento e metallo e ferro e marmo e legname, in porpora, iacinto e bisso e coccino; il quale sae scolpire ogni scoltura, e trovare prudentemente ciò che fa bisogno in lavorìo, con esso li tuoi artefici, e con esso gli artefici del mio signore David, tuo padre.	14 'So now let my lord send his servants the wheat, barley, oil and wine as promised
15 Il grano, l' orzo, l' olio, il vino, il quale tu, signore mio, hai promesso, mandalo a' servi tuoi.	15 and we wil fel all the wood you need from Lebanon, and bring it you in rafts by sea to Jaffa; and it wilbe your responsibility to transport it to Jerusalem.'
16 Noi taglieremo di Libano tutto il legname che ti farà bisogno, e per mare colle zatte lo arreccheremo in Ioppe; ma a te s'appartenerà farlo portare in Ierusalem.	16 Solomon then took a census of al the aliens resident in Israel similar to the census which his fatherDavid had taken; it was found that there were a hundred and fifty-three thousand six hundred.
17 E Salomone annumeroe tutti gli uomini proseliti, i quali erano nella terra d' Israel, dopo la numerazione la quale avea fatta il suo padre David; e trovaronsi centocinquanta migliaia, e tremilia secento.	17 He impressed seventy thousand of them as porters, eighty thousand as quarrymen in the hil s andthree thousand six hundred as overseers to make sure the people worked.
18 E fece di loro LXX milia, i quali portassero nelle spalle i pesi, e LXXX milia i quali tagliassere le pietre nelle montagne, e fece III milia [secento] de' prepositi al popolo nelle opere.
