Ezequiel 22

SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 A palavra do Senhor foi-me dirigida nestes termos:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 E tu, filho do homem, não julgarás, não julgarás esta cidade sanguinária? Faze-lhe conhecer todas as suas abominações.	2 'Son of man, are you ready to judge? Are you ready to judge the blood-stained city? Confront her withal her loathsome practices!
3 Dize-lhe: eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: ah! cidade que espalhas o sangue em tuas ruas para que chegue a tua hora, que eriges ídolos para te sujares,	3 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: City shedding blood inside yourself to hasten your doom, makingfoul idols on your soil to defile yourself,
4 pelo sangue que tens derramado tu te tornaste culpada e te poluíste pelos teus ídolos que talhaste; precipitaste a tua hora, adiantaste o termo de teus anos. Por isso vou abandonar-te aos ultrajes das nações, e ao escárnio de todos os países.	4 you have incurred guilt by the blood you have shed, you have defiled yourself with the foul idols youhave made, you have shortened your days, you have come to the end of your years. This is why I have madeyou an object of scorn to the nations and a laughing-stock to every country.
5 Próximos ou distantes, eles zombarão de ti, cidade cujo nome é odioso, cidade cheia de desordens.	5 From far and near they will taunt you with your infamous disorders.
6 Vê: os príncipes de Israel estão em ti ocupados, cada um por si, a derramar sangue.	6 "Look! In you the princes of Israel, one and all, have furthered their own interests at the cost ofbloodshed;
7 Em ti, desprezam-se pai e mãe, violenta-se o hóspede estrangeiro, maltratam-se o órfão e a viúva.	7 in you people have despised their fathers and mothers; in you they have il -treated the settler; in youthey have oppressed the widow and orphan.
8 Tens aviltado meus santuários e profanado os meus sábados.	8 You have treated my sanctuary with contempt, you have profaned my Sabbaths.
9 Há em ti delatores que fazem derramar sangue; gente de tua casa que vai comer na montanha. Cometem-se infâmias no meio de ti:	9 In you informers incite to bloodshed; in you people eat on the mountains and act licentiously;
10 descobre-se a nudez de seu pai, faz-se violência à mulher durante o período da menstruação;	10 in you they have sexual intercourse with their fathers; in you they force themselves on women in theirperiods;
11 um comete horrores com a mulher do próximo, outro desonra incestuosamente sua nora, outro viola sua irmã, filha de seu pai.	11 in you one man engages in loathsome practices with his neighbour's wife, another lewdly defiles hisdaughter-in-law, another violates his sister, his own father's daughter.
12 Em ti aceitam-se presentes para derramar sangue, tu recebes a usura e os juros, fazes violência ao próximo para despojá-lo; e a mim tu me esqueces - oráculo do Senhor Javé.	12 In you people take bribes for shedding blood; you lend for profit and charge interest, you profit fromyour fel ow by extortion and have forgotten about me -- declares the Lord Yahweh.
13 Muito em breve, porém, vou bater palmas devido às pilhagens que tens feito e ao sangue em ti derramado.	13 "Now I shal clap my hands at your acts of banditry and the blood that flows in you.
14 Poderá resistir teu coração, tuas mãos poderão agüentar, ao chegarem os dias em que eu me levantar contra ti? Sou eu, o Senhor, que o digo, e que o executarei.	14 Wil your heart be able to resist, will your hands be steady, the day when I cal you to account? I,Yahweh, have spoken and shall act.
15 Eu te disseminarei entre as nações, te dispersarei através dos povos. Limparei totalmente a tua mancha,	15 I shal scatter you among the nations and disperse you in foreign countries, and so put an end to thefilthiness now inside you;
16 serás aviltada, por tua culpa, aos olhos das nações, e reconhecerás assim que sou eu o Senhor.	16 through your own fault, you wil be profaned in the eyes of the nations, and you wil know that I amYahweh!" '
17 A palavra do Senhor foi-me dirigida nestes termos:	17 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
18 Filho do homem, a casa de Israel tornou-se para mim escória. São todos {como} cobre, estanho e ferro e chumbo no cadinho: são escória da prata.	18 'Son of man, for me, the House of Israel has become dross: copper, tin, iron, lead, al mixed uptogether in the melting-pot; they are dross.
19 Por isso, eis o que diz o senhor Javé: já que todos vós sois escórias, vou reunir-vos em Jerusalém.	19 And so, Lord Yahweh says this, "Since you have al become dross, right! I shall collect you insideJerusalem.
20 Do mesmo modo como se ajunta no meio do forno a prata, o cobre, o ferro, o chumbo e o estanho, e como se atiça o fogo sobre eles para fundi-los, do mesmo modo, no furor da minha cólera, eu vos amontoarei todos juntos lá para vos fazer fundir.	20 As silver, copper, iron, lead and tin are col ected in the melting-pot, and the fire is blown underneathto melt them down, so I shal collect you in my furious anger and have you melted down;
21 Eu vos reunirei e atiçarei sobre vós o fogo do meu furor, para vos fazer fundir em Jerusalém.	21 I shal collect you and blow up the fire of my rage for you and have you melted down inside the city.
22 Semelhantes à prata, que se funde no cadinho, sereis fundidos no meio da cidade e assim reconhecereis que sou eu, o Senhor, que desencadeei sobre vós o meu furor.	22 As silver is melted in the melting-pot, so you will be melted down inside the city, and you wil knowthat I, Yahweh, have vented my fury on you." '
23 A palavra do Senhor foi-me dirigida nestes termos:	23 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
24 filho do homem, dize a Jerusalém: és uma terra que não recebeu nem chuva nem aguaceiro, na estação da cólera.	24 'Son of man, say to her, "You are a land that has not received rain or shower on the day of anger.
25 Há em teu seio uma conspiração de príncipes. Como o leão que ruge, que arrebata a presa, eles devoram as pessoas, tomam-lhes os bens e as riquezas, e multiplicam as viúvas.	25 In you, the princes are like a roaring lion tearing its prey. They have eaten the people, seized wealthand jewels and widowed many inside her.
26 Seus sacerdotes violam a minha lei, profanam o meu santuário, tratam indiferentemente o sagrado e o profano e não ensinam a distinguir o que é puro do que é impuro; fecham os olhos para não ver os meus sábados; no meio deles a minha santidade é profanada.	26 Her priests have violated my law and desecrated my sanctuary; they have made no distinctionbetween sacred and profane, they have not taught people the difference between clean and unclean; they haveturned their eyes away from my Sabbaths and I have been dishonoured by them.
27 Seus chefes lá estão como lobos que despedaçam a presa, derramando sangue, perdendo vidas para tirar proveitos.	27 In her the leaders are wolves tearing their prey, shedding blood and killing people to steal theirpossessions.
28 Seus profetas cobrem tudo com uma argamassa: têm visões de mentira e oráculos enganadores. Dizem: eis o que diz o Senhor, quando o Senhor nada disse.	28 Her prophets have plastered these things over with their empty visions and lying prophecies, saying:Yahweh says this, although Yahweh has not spoken.
29 A população da terra se entrega à violência e à rapina, à opressão do pobre e do indigente, e às vexações injustificáveis contra o estrangeiro.	29 The people of the country have taken to extortion and banditry; they have oppressed the poor andneedy and il -treated the settler in a way that is unjustifiable.
30 Tenho procurado entre eles alguém que construísse o muro e se detivesse sobre a brecha diante de mim, em favor da terra, a fim de prevenir a sua destruição, mas não encontrei ninguém.	30 I have been looking for someone among them to build a barricade and oppose me in the breach, todefend the country and prevent me from destroying it; but I have found no one.
31 Por isso vou desencadear sobre eles o meu furor e exterminá-los no fogo da minha exasperação; farei cair sobre eles o peso de sua conduta - oráculo do Senhor Javé.	31 Hence I have vented my fury on them; I have put an end to them in the fire of my rage. I have madetheir conduct recoil on their own heads -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '
