Deuteronomio 15

1 Al termine di sette anni farai il condono.	1 "At the end of every seven-year period you shall have a relaxation of debts,
2 In questo consiste il condono: chiunque detiene un pegno, condonerà ciò per cui ha ottenuto il pegno dal suo prossimo; non avrà pretese sul suo prossimo né sul suo fratello, poiché è stato proclamato il condono davanti al Signore.	2 which shall be observed as follows. Every creditor shall relax his claim on what he has loaned his neighbor; he must not press his neighbor, his kinsman, because a relaxation in honor of the LORD has been proclaimed.
3 Avanzerai pretese sullo straniero, ma al fratello condonerai quanto di suo avrai presso di te.	3 You may press a foreigner, but you shall relax the claim on your kinsman for what is yours.
4 Del resto non ci sarà presso di te alcun povero, poiché il Signore certo ti benedirà nella terra che il Signore tuo Dio ti dona in eredità perché tu la possieda,	4 Nay, more! since the LORD, your God, will bless you abundantly in the land he will give you to occupy as your heritage, there should be no one of you in need.
5 se però ascolterai attentamente la voce del Signore tuo Dio, osservando e praticando tutti gli ordini che oggi ti prescrivo.	5 If you but heed the voice of the LORD, your God, and carefully observe all these commandments which I enjoin on you today,
6 Quando il Signore tuo Dio ti benedirà, come ti ha detto, farai prestito a molte nazioni, ma tu non chiederai prestiti; dominerai molte nazioni, ma su di te esse non domineranno.	6 you will lend to many nations, and borrow from none; you will rule over many nations, and none will rule over you, since the LORD, your God, will bless you as he promised.
7 Se vi sarà presso di te un povero, uno dei tuoi fratelli in una delle tue città, nella terra che il Signore tuo Dio ti dona, non indurirai il tuo cuore e non chiuderai la tua mano al tuo fratello povero,	7 If one of your kinsmen in any community is in need in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor close your hand to him in his need.
8 ma gli aprirai la mano, gli presterai generosamente quanto gli manca, per il bisogno in cui si trova.	8 Instead, you shall open your hand to him and freely lend him enough to meet his need.
9 Bada a te, che non ci sia nel tuo cuore questo cattivo disegno: "E' vicino il settimo anno, l'anno del condono", e il tuo occhio non sia cattivo verso il tuo fratello povero e tu non gli dia nulla; egli griderebbe al Signore contro di te e ci sarebbe su di te peccato.	9 Be on your guard lest, entertaining the mean thought that the seventh year, the year of relaxation, is near, you grudge help to your needy kinsman and give him nothing; else he will cry to the LORD against you and you will be held guilty.
10 Da' generosamente a lui e il tuo cuore non sia cattivo mentre doni; infatti il Signore tuo Dio per questo ti benedirà in ogni tua opera e in ogni impresa delle tue mani.	10 When you give to him, give freely and not with ill will; for the LORD, your God, will bless you for this in all your works and undertakings.
11 Poiché non mancheranno mai i poveri del paese, io ti prescrivo: "Apri generosamente la mano a tuo fratello, all'afflitto e al povero nella tua terra".	11 The needy will never be lacking in the land; that is why I command you to open your hand to your poor and needy kinsman in your country.
12 Se si vende a te un tuo fratello, ebreo o ebrea, ti servirà per sei anni; ma al settimo anno lo manderai via libero da te;	12 "If your kinsman, a Hebrew man or woman, sells himself to you, he is to serve you for six years, but in the seventh year you shall dismiss him from your service, a free man.
13 e quando lo manderai via libero da te, non rimandarlo a mani vuote,	13 When you do so, you shall not send him away empty-handed,
14 ma caricalo di doni del tuo gregge, della tua aia e del tuo torchio; nella misura in cui il Signore tuo Dio ti ha benedetto, darai a lui.	14 but shall weight him down with gifts from your flock and threshing floor and wine press, in proportion to the blessing the LORD, your God, has bestowed on you.
15 Ricordati che tu fosti schiavo nella terra d'Egitto e che il Signore tuo Dio ti ha liberato; perciò oggi ti prescrivo questo.	15 For remember that you too were once slaves in the land of Egypt, and the LORD, your God, ransomed you. That is why I am giving you this command today.
16 Ma se ti dice: "Non andrò via da te", perché ama te, la tua casa e perché si trova bene con te,	16 If, however, he tells you that he does not wish to leave you, because he is devoted to you and your household, since he fares well with you,
17 allora prenderai un punteruolo e gli forerai l'orecchio contro la porta; così ti sarà schiavo per sempre. Anche verso la tua serva farai così.	17 you shall take an awl and thrust it through his ear into the door, and he shall then be your slave forever. Your female slave, also, you shall treat in the same way.
18 Non ti rincresca di mandarlo via libero da te, perché per un valore doppio del salario di uno stipendiato ti ha servito per sei anni. Il Signore ti benedirà in ogni cosa che farai.	18 You must not be reluctant to let your slave go free, since the service he has given you for six years was worth twice a hired man's salary; then also the LORD, your God, will bless you in everything you do.
19 Ogni primogenito maschio che nascerà dal tuo bestiame grosso e dal tuo bestiame minuto lo consacrerai al Signore tuo Dio. Non farai lavorare il primogenito del tuo bestiame grosso né toserai il primogenito del tuo bestiame minuto:	19 "You shall consecrate to the LORD, your God, all the male firstlings of your herd and of your flock. You shall not work the firstlings of your cattle, nor shear the firstlings of your flock.
20 lo mangerai, tu e la tua casa, al cospetto del Signore tuo Dio anno per anno, nel luogo che il Signore sceglierà.	20 Year after year you and your family shall eat them before the LORD, your God, in the place he chooses.
21 Ma se ha qualche difetto, se è zoppo, cieco, o se ha qualche altra imperfezione, non lo sacrificherai al Signore tuo Dio:	21 If, however, a firstling is lame or blind or has any other serious defect, you shall not sacrifice it to the LORD, your God,
22 lo mangerai dentro le tue porte, l'impuro e il puro assieme, come se fosse una gazzella o un cervo;	22 but in your own communities you may eat it, the unclean and the clean eating it alike, as you would a gazelle or a deer.
23 soltanto il sangue non mangerai, lo verserai a terra come l'acqua.	23 Only, you shall not partake of its blood, which must be poured out on the ground like water.
