LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Il Signore disse a Mosè e ad Aronne:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said:
2 "Questa è una prescrizione della legge che il Signore ha ordinato. Di' ai figli d'Israele che ti procurino una vacca rossa, integra, senza tara, sulla quale non è salito il giogo.	2 'This is a decree of the Law which Yahweh has prescribed. Tel the Israelites, they are to bring you ared heifer without fault or blemish that has never borne the yoke.
3 La darete al sacerdote Eleazaro: la farà uscire fuori dell'accampamento e la immolerà davanti a sé.	3 You will give it to the priest Eleazar. It wil then be taken outside the camp and slaughtered in hispresence.
4 Il sacerdote Eleazaro prenderà poi del suo sangue con il proprio dito e con il suo sangue spruzzerà la parte anteriore della tenda del convegno, per sette volte.	4 The priest Eleazar wil then take some of the victim's blood on his finger, and sprinkle this bloodseven times towards the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
5 Brucerà quindi la vacca davanti ai suoi occhi: la sua pelle, la sua carne, il suo sangue col suo magone saranno bruciati.	5 The heifer wil then be burnt while he looks on; its hide, flesh, blood and offal wil be burnt.
6 Il sacerdote prenderà allora del legno di cedro, dell'issopo e dello scarlatto e li getterà in mezzo al fuoco della vacca.	6 The priest wil then take some cedar wood, hyssop and scarlet material and throw them on the firewhere the heifer is burning.
7 Poi il sacerdote laverà i suoi vestiti, laverà il suo corpo con l'acqua e dopo rientrerà nell'accampamento: il sacerdote sarà impuro fino a sera.	7 He will then wash his clothes and bathe himself; after which he wil go back to the camp, though hewil remain unclean until evening.
8 Chi l'ha bruciata, laverà i propri vestiti con l'acqua, laverà il proprio corpo con l'acqua e sarà impuro fino a sera.	8 The man who has burnt the heifer wil wash his clothes and bathe himself and will remain uncleanuntil evening.
9 Un uomo puro raccoglierà la cenere della vacca e la porrà fuori dell'accampamento, in un luogo puro: per la comunità dei figli d'Israele sarà conservata come acqua lustrale. E' per il peccato.	9 The man who gathers up the ashes of the heifer must be ritually clean; he will deposit them outsidethe camp, in a clean place. They wil be kept for the ritual use of the Israelite community for making water forpurification; it is a sacrifice for sin.
10 Chi avrà raccolto la cenere della vacca laverà i propri vestiti e sarà impuro fino a sera: sarà una prescrizione perenne per i figli d'Israele e per chi dimora in mezzo a voi.	10 The man who has gathered up the ashes of the heifer wil wash his clothes and remain unclean untilevening. For the Israelites as for the resident alien, this wil be a perpetual decree.
11 Chi tocca un cadavere umano sarà impuro per sette giorni.	11 'Anyone who touches the corpse of anyone whatever wil be unclean for seven days.
12 Si purificherà il terzo giorno, e il settimo giorno sarà puro: ma se non si purificherà nel terzo giorno, nel settimo giorno non sarà puro.	12 Such a person must be purified with these waters on the third and seventh day and will then beclean; otherwise he wil not be clean.
13 Chiunque tocchi un cadavere umano e non si purifichi, contamina la dimora del Signore: quell'individuo sia eliminato da Israele; poiché non si è sparsa su di lui l'acqua lustrale, è impuro, in lui resta la sua impurità.	13 Anyone who touches the corpse of anyone who has died and is not purified, defiles Yahweh'sDwelling; such a person wil be outlawed from Israel, since the water for purification has not been sprinkled overhim; he is unclean, and his uncleanness remains in him.
14 Questa è la legge per quando un umano muore nella tenda: chiunque entra nella tenda e chiunque è nella tenda è impuro per sette giorni;	14 'This is the law when someone dies in a tent. Anyone who goes into the tent, or anyone who isalready in it, wil be unclean for seven days,
15 ogni vaso aperto, su cui non è fissato un coperchio, è impuro.	15 and every open vessel with no cover tied over it wil also be unclean.
16 Chiunque ha toccato in aperta campagna un colpito di spada o un morto per morte naturale, ossa d'uomo o un sepolcro, sarà impuro per sette giorni.	16 'Anyone in the open country who touches a murder victim, a corpse, human bones or a grave wil beunclean for seven days.
17 Per l'impuro prenderanno la cenere della vittima bruciata per il peccato, e vi si verserà sopra acqua viva in un vaso;	17 'For someone thus unclean, some of the ashes of the victim burnt as a sacrifice for sin wil be takenand spring water must be poured over them, in a vessel.
18 un uomo puro prenderà dell'issopo, lo immergerà nell'acqua e l'aspergerà sulla tenda, su tutti i vasi, sulle persone che ci sono, su chi ha toccato ossa o ucciso o morto o sepolcro.	18 Someone who is ritual y clean wil then take some hyssop and dip it in the water. This person wilthen sprinkle the tent, all the vessels and people who were there, and similarly anyone who has touched humanbones, a murder victim, a corpse or a grave.
19 Il puro aspergerà l'impuro nel terzo e nel settimo giorno; lo purificherà nel settimo giorno: laverà i propri vestiti, si laverà con acqua e alla sera sarà puro.	19 On the third and the seventh day the clean one wil sprinkle the unclean, who on the seventh day wilbe clean. The latter wil then wash his clothes and bathe in water, and in the evening he wil be clean.
20 L'uomo impuro che non si purificherà sarà eliminato dal mezzo dell'assemblea, perché ha contaminato il santuario del Signore: non ha sparso l'acqua lustrale su di sé, è impuro.	20 Anyone who fails to be purified in this way wil be outlawed from the community, and would defileYahweh's sanctuary. Such a person is unclean, not having been sprinkled with the water for purification.
21 Sarà per loro una prescrizione perenne. Chi farà l'aspersione dell'acqua lustrale laverà le proprie vesti e chi toccherà l'acqua lustrale sarà impuro fino a sera.	21 'This wil be a perpetual decree for them. The person who sprinkles the water for purification wilwash his clothes, and anyone who touches the water for purification wil be unclean until evening.
22 Tutto ciò che l'impuro toccherà sarà impuro e l'individuo che lo toccherà sarà impuro fino a sera".	22 Anything that an unclean person touches wil be unclean, and anyone who touches it wil be uncleanuntil evening.'
