13 Questi considererete abominevoli fra gli uccelli e non mangerete perché sono un abominio: l'aquila, l'ossifraga e la strige, | 13 "Of the birds these are the ones that you wil regard as detestable; they may not be eaten, they aredetestable for eating: "The tawny vulture, the griffon, the osprey, |
14 il nibbio e le varie specie di rapaci; | 14 the kite, the various kinds of buzzard, |
15 le varie specie di corvi; | 15 all kinds of raven, |

19 la cicogna, le varie specie di aironi, l'upupa e il pipistrello. | 19 stork, the various kinds of heron, the hoopoe and the bat. |
20 Ogni insetto alato che cammina su quattro zampe è un abominio per voi. | 20 "Al winged insects moving on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating. |
21 Soltanto questi mangerete fra tutti gli insetti alati che camminano su quattro zampe: quelli che hanno due zampe sopra i piedi per saltare sopra la terra; | 21 Of al these winged insects you may eat only the fol owing: those with the sort of legs above their feetwhich enable them to leap over the ground. |
22 fra di essi potrete mangiare: ogni specie di locuste, ogni specie di cavallette, ogni specie di grilli e ogni specie di acridi. | 22 These are the ones you may eat: the various kinds of migratory locust, the various kinds of solhamlocust, hargol locust and hagab locust. |
23 Ogni altro insetto alato che ha quattro zampe è un abominio per voi. | 23 But al other winged insects on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating. |
24 Da questi animali contrarrete impurità; chiunque toccherà i loro cadaveri sarà impuro fino a sera; | 24 "By the fol owing you wil be made unclean. Anyone who touches the carcase of one wil be uncleanuntil evening. |
25 chiunque solleva il loro cadavere lavi le sue vesti; resta impuro fino a sera. | 25 Anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening. |

29 Fra gli animali che strisciano sopra la terra sono impuri per voi: la talpa, il topo e ogni specie di lucertola; | 29 "Of the smal creatures which crawl along the ground, these are the ones which you wil regard asunclean: the mole, the rat, the various kinds of lizard: |

39 Se muore un animale di cui vi potete cibare, chi tocca il cadavere è impuro fino a sera. | 39 "If one of the animals that you use as food dies, anyone who touches the carcase wil be unclean untilevening; |
40 Chi mangia di questo cadavere lavi le sue vesti; resta impuro fino a sera; chi trasporta tale cadavere lavi le sue vesti; resta impuro fino a sera. | 40 anyone who eats any of the carcase must wash his clothing and will remain unclean until evening;anyone who picks up the carcase must wash his clothing and wil remain unclean until evening. |
41 Ogni animale che striscia sopra la terra è un abominio: non mangiatelo. | 41 "Any creature that swarms on the ground is detestable for eating; it must not be eaten. |
42 Tutti gli animali che camminano sul ventre, che camminano su quattro o più zampe o che strisciano sopra la terra non mangiateli, ché sono cosa abominevole. | 42 Anything that moves on its bel y, anything that moves on four legs or more -- in short all the creaturesthat swarm on the ground -- you will not eat, since they are detestable. |
43 Non rendetevi abominevoli con un qualsiasi animale strisciante e non contaminatevi con essi così da diventare impuri. | 43 Do not make yourselves detestable with al these swarming creatures; do not defile yourselves withthem, do not be defiled by them. |
44 Io infatti sono il Signore Dio vostro! Santificatevi e siate santi, perché io sono santo. Non contaminatevi con qualsiasi animale strisciante sopra la terra. | 44 For it is I, Yahweh, who am your God. You have been sanctified and have become holy because I amholy: do not defile yourselves with all these creatures that swarm on the ground. |
