Esodo 15

LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Allora Mosè e i figli d'Israele intonarono questo canto al Signore e dissero: Canto al Signore, perché si è mostrato grande: cavallo e cavaliere ha gettato in mare.	1 It was then that Moses and the Israelites sang this song in Yahweh's honour: I shall sing to Yahweh,for he has covered himself in glory, horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.
2 Mia forza e mio canto è il Signore: è stato la mia salvezza. Questo è il mio Dio lo voglio onorare; il Dio di mio padre, lo voglio esaltare.	2 Yah is my strength and my song, to him I owe my deliverance. He is my God and I shal praise him,my father's God and I shal extol him.
3 Il Signore è un guerriero, si chiama Signore.	3 Yahweh is a warrior; Yahweh is his name.
4 I carri del faraone, con il suo esercito, ha gettato in mare; i suoi capi scelti sono stati inghiottiti nel Mar Rosso.	4 Pharaoh's chariots and army he has hurled into the sea the pick of his officers have been drowned inthe Sea of Reeds.
5 Gli abissi li ricoprono, sono scesi nelle profondità come una pietra.	5 The ocean has closed over them; they have sunk to the bottom like a stone.
6 La tua destra, Signore, si illustra di forza, la tua destra, Signore, fa a pezzi il nemico.	6 Your right hand, Yahweh, wins glory by its strength, your right hand, Yahweh, shatters your foes,
7 Con la tua sublime grandezza rovesci chi ti sta di fronte: mandi la tua collera, li divori come paglia.	7 and by your great majesty you fell your assailants; you unleash your fury, it consumes them like chaff.
8 Con l'alito delle tue narici l'acqua si è accumulata, le onde si sono erette come un argine, gli abissi si sono rappresi nel cuore del mare.	8 A blast from your nostrils and the waters piled high; the waves stood firm as a dyke; the bed of the seabecame firm ground.
9 Il nemico aveva detto: "Lo inseguo, lo raggiungo, ne riempio la mia anima: sguaino la mia spada, la mia mano li conquista".	9 The enemy said, 'I shal give chase and overtake, 'I shal share out the spoil and glut myself on them, 'Ishall draw my sword, my hand wil destroy them.'
10 Con il tuo alito hai soffiato, il mare li ricopre, sono sprofondati come piombo nell'acqua possente.	10 You blew with your breath, the sea closed over them; they sank like lead in the terrible waters.
11 Chi è come te, tra gli dèi, Signore, chi come te, magnifico in santità, terribile in imprese, che fa meraviglie?	11 Yahweh, who is like you, majestic in sanctity, who like you among the holy ones, fearsome of deed,worker of wonders?
12 Hai steso la tua destra, la terra l'ha inghiottito.	12 You stretched your right hand out, the earth swallowed them!
13 Con il tuo favore hai guidato questo popolo che hai riscattato. Con la tua forza l'hai condotto verso il tuo pascolo santo.	13 In your faithful love you led out the people you had redeemed, in your strength you have guided themto your holy dwel ing.
14 I popoli hanno udito e tremato, spasimo ha afferrato gli abitanti della Filistea.	14 Hearing of this, the peoples tremble; pangs seize on the people of Philistia;
15 Già sono sconvolti i capi di Edom, i potenti di Moab sono presi da fremito, si squagliano tutti gli abitanti di Canaan.	15 the chieftains of Edom are dismayed, Moab's princes -- panic has seized them, all the inhabitants ofCanaan have melted away.
16 Su di loro cade paura e spavento, per la grandezza del tuo braccio restano immobili come pietra, finché passi il tuo popolo, Signore, finché passi questo popolo che tu hai acquistato.	16 On them fall terror and dread; through the power of your arm they are stil as stone while your peopleare passing, Yahweh, while the people you have purchased are passing.
17 Lo condurrai e pianterai nel monte della tua eredità, luogo che hai fatto tua dimora, Signore, santuario, Signore, che le tue mani hanno preparato.	17 You wil bring them in and plant them on the mountain which is your heritage, the place which you,Yahweh, have made your dwel ing, the sanctuary, Yahweh, prepared by your own hands.
18 Il Signore regnerà in perpetuo e per sempre.	18 Yahweh will be king for ever and ever.
19 Quando, infatti, il cavallo del faraone con il suo carro e i suoi cavalieri entrarono nel mare, il Signore fece tornare su di loro l'acqua del mare, mentre i figli d'Israele avevano camminato all'asciutto in mezzo al mare.	19 For when Pharaoh's cavalry, with his chariots and horsemen, had gone into the sea, Yahweh broughtthe waters of the sea back over them, though the Israelites went on dry ground right through the sea.
20 Maria, la profetessa, sorella di Aronne, prese in mano un tamburello, e dietro di lei uscirono tutte le donne con tamburelli e in cortei danzanti.	20 The prophetess Miriam, Aaron's sister, took up a tambourine, and all the women fol owed her withtambourines, dancing,
21 Maria intonò per loro: "Cantate al Signore, poiché si è fatto grande: cavallo e cavaliere ha gettato in mare".	21 while Miriam took up from them the refrain: Sing to Yahweh, for he has covered himself in glory,horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.
22 Mosè fece partire Israele dal Mar Rosso e s'incamminarono verso il deserto di Sur: andarono per tre giorni nel deserto e non trovarono acqua.	22 Moses led Israel away from the Sea of Reeds, and they entered the desert of Shur. They thentravel ed through the desert for three days without finding water.
23 Giunsero a Mara e non poterono bere l'acqua di Mara, perché amara: perciò fu chiamata Mara.	23 When they reached Marah, they could not drink the Marah water because it was bitter; this is why theplace was named Marah.
24 Il popolo mormorò contro Mosè: "Che cosa beviamo?".	24 The people complained to Moses saying, 'What are we to drink?'
25 Egli gridò al Signore, che gli mostrò un legno: lo gettò nell'acqua e l'acqua diventò dolce. Là il Signore gli impose un decreto e un giudizio, là lo mise alla prova	25 Moses appealed to Yahweh for help, and Yahweh showed him a piece of wood. When Moses threwit into the water, the water became sweet. There he laid down a statute and law for them and there he put themto the test. Then he said,
26 e disse: "Se ascolterai la voce del Signore, tuo Dio, e agirai rettamente ai suoi occhi, se presterai orecchio ai suoi ordini e osserverai tutti i suoi decreti, non ti infliggerò nessuno dei flagelli che ho inflitto all'Egitto, perché io sono il Signore che ti cura".	26 'If you listen careful y to the voice of Yahweh your God and do what he regards as right, if you payattention to his commandments and keep al his laws, I shal never inflict on you any of the diseases that Iinflicted on the Egyptians, for I am Yahweh your Healer.'
27 Giunsero a Elim, dove ci sono dodici sorgenti d'acqua e settanta palme: vi si accamparono presso l'acqua.	27 So they came to Elim where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees; and there theypitched camp beside the water.
