Lettera ai Filippesi 2

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Se dunque è possibile qualche consolazione in Cristo, se v'è qualche conforto dell'amore, se v'è qualche comunanza di spirito, se avete viscere di compassione,	1 So if in Christ there is anything that will move you, any incentive in love, any fel owship in the Spirit, anywarmth or sympathy -- I appeal to you,
2 rendete compiuto il mio gaudio della concordia vostra, avendo uno stesso amore, una stessa anima, uno stesso sentire;	2 make my joy complete by being of a single mind, one in love, one in heart and one in mind.
3 nulla si faccia per spirito di rivalità o per vanagloria, ma per umiltà, ritenendo ciascuno gli altri superiori a se stesso;	3 Nothing is to be done out of jealousy or vanity; instead, out of humility of mind everyone should givepreference to others,
4 non guardi ciascuno solo alle cose proprie ma anche a quelle degli altri.	4 everyone pursuing not selfish interests but those of others.
5 Abbiate in voi quel sentire che era anche in Gesù Cristo,	5 Make your own the mind of Christ Jesus:
6 il quale, sussistendo in natura di Dio, non considerò questa sua eguaglianza con Dio come una rapina,	6 Who, being in the form of God, did not count equality with God something to be grasped.
7 ma svuotò se stesso, assumendo la natura di schiavo, e facendosi simile all'uomo; e in tutto il suo esteriore atteggiamento riconosciuto come un uomo,	7 But he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, becoming as human beings are; and being in everyway like a human being,
8 umiliò se stesso, fattosi obbediente sino alla morte, e alla morte di croce.	8 he was humbler yet, even to accepting death, death on a cross.
9 Perciò Iddio lo esaltò, e gli diede il nome che è sopra ogni nome,	9 And for this God raised him high, and gave him the name which is above al other names;
10 affinchè nel nome di Gesù ogni ginocchio si pieghi, e degli esseri celesti e dei terrestri, e di quei sotto terra,	10 so that al beings in the heavens, on earth and in the underworld, should bend the knee at the name ofJesus
11 e ogni lingua confessi che Signore è Gesù Cristo nella gloria di Dio Padre.	11 and that every tongue should acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Conseguentemente, o carissimi, come sempre siete stati obbedienti, non solo come se fossi presente, ma tanto più nella mia assenza, col timore e tremore procacciate la vostra salvezza;	12 So, my dear friends, you have always been obedient; your obedience must not be limited to timeswhen I am present. Now that I am absent it must be more in evidence, so work out your salvation in fear andtrembling.
13 poichè Dio è che produce in voi e il volere e l'agire con buona volontà.	13 It is God who, for his own generous purpose, gives you the intention and the powers to act.
14 Fate ogni cosa senza mormorazioni e senza dispute,	14 Let your behaviour be free of murmuring and complaining
15 affinchè siate irreprensibili e schietti figli di Dio, senza biasimo in mezzo a una generazione prava e perversa, fra cui voi risplendete come luminari nel mondo,	15 so that you remain faultless and pure, unspoilt children of God surrounded by a deceitful andunderhand brood, shining out among them like bright stars in the world,
16 conservando la parola della vita, affinchè io possa menar vanto, nel giorno di Cristo, di non aver corso invano e invano faticato.	16 proffering to it the Word of life. Then I shall have reason to be proud on the Day of Christ, for it wil notbe for nothing that I have run the race and toiled so hard.
17 Ma se anche io fossi immolato, godo del sacrifizio e dell'offerta della vostra fede, ne godo e me ne rallegro con tutti voi;	17 Indeed, even if my blood has to be poured as a libation over your sacrifice and the offering of yourfaith, then I shal be glad and join in your rejoicing-
18 godete anche voialtri di questo e rallegratevene con me.	18 and in the same way, you must be glad and join in my rejoicing.
19 E io spero nel Signore Gesù di mandarvi questo Timoteo, affinchè anch'io stia di buon animo venendo a notizia delle cose vostre.	19 I hope, in the Lord Jesus, to send Timothy to you soon, so that my mind may be set at rest when I hearhow you are.
20 Giacchè non ho nessuno che sia così d'accordo con me, e che con sincera affezione s'interessi di voi;	20 There is nobody else that I can send who is like him and cares as sincerely for your well-being;
21 tutti cercano le cose proprie, non quelle di Cristo Gesù.	21 they al want to work for themselves, not for Jesus Christ.
22 E voi dovete riconoscere il saggio che Timoteo ha dato di sè, in quanto come figlio rispetto al padre ha servito con me a pro del Vangelo.	22 But you know what sort of person he has proved himself, working with me for the sake of the gospellike a son with his father.
23 Lui dunque spero di mandarvi non appena avrò visto che piega prendano le cose mie;	23 That is the man, then, that I am hoping to send to you immediately I can make out what is going tohappen to me;
24 e confido nel Signore che verrò presto anch'io.	24 but I am confident in the Lord that I shal come myself, too, before long.
25 Ma intanto ho stimato necessario mandarvi Epafrodito, fratello e cooperatore e commilitone mio, vostro messaggero e ministro delle mie necessità,	25 Nevertheless I thought it essential to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fel ow-worker andcompanion-in-arms since he came as your representative to look after my needs;
26 poichè egli aveva gran desiderio di tutti voi, ed era tutto triste perchè voi avevate sentito parlare della sua malattia;	26 because he was missing you al and was worrying because you had heard that he was il .
27 difatti si ammalò a morte; ma Dio ebbe compassione di lui; e non solo di lui, ma anche di me, perchè io non avessi dolore sopra dolore.	27 Indeed he was seriously il and nearly died; but God took pity on him -- and not only on him but also onme, to spare me one grief on top of another.
28 Perciò mi sono affrettato a inviarlo, perchè, vedendolo, vi rallegriate di nuovo, e anch'io sia meno in pensiero.	28 So I am sending him back as promptly as I can so that you wil have the joy of seeing him again, andthat wil be some comfort to me in my distress.
29 Accoglietelo dunque nel Signore con tutta gioia, e abbiate in onore siffatti uomini, perchè per l'opera di Cristo s'avvicinò fino alla morte, mettendo al rischio la propria vita, per supplire a quel che non potevate far voi in mio servigio.	29 Welcome him in the Lord, then, with al joy; hold people like him in honour,
	30 because it was for Christ's work that he came so near to dying, risking his life to do the duty to mewhich you could not do yourselves.
