Salmi 72

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 - Salmo di Asaf. Quant' è buono Iddio con Israele, con quei che sono di cuore retto!	1 A Psalm of Asaph. How good is God to Israel, to those who are upright in heart.
2 Eppure, per poco non han vacillato i miei piedi, per poco non son sdrucciolati i miei passi!	2 But my feet were nearly moved; my steps had nearly slipped.
3 Perchè ho invidiato gl'iniqui, vedendo la prosperità de' malvagi.	3 For I was zealous over the iniquitous, seeing the peacefulness of sinners.
4 Giacchè non c'è di che pensare alla lor morte, nè v'è stabilità nella loro sciagura.	4 For they have no respect for their death, nor do they have support in their wounds.
5 A' travagli degli uomini non han parte, nè con gli [altri] uomini son flagellati.	5 They are not with the hardships of men, nor will they be scourged with men.
6 Perciò li possiede l'orgoglio, son ammantati della loro iniquità ed empietà!	6 Therefore, arrogance has held on to them. They have been covered with their iniquity and impiety.
7 Spunta quasi dal grasso la loro iniquità, s'abbandonano alla passione del cuore.	7 Their iniquity has proceeded, as if from fat. They have parted from the affection of the heart.
8 Pensano e parlano malvagità, iniquità parlan dall'alto.	8 They have thought and spoken wickedness. They have spoken iniquity in high places.
9 Drizzano contro il cielo la lor bocca, e la lingua loro percorre la terra.	9 They have set their mouth against heaven, and their tongue has traversed the earth.
10 Perciò si volge il mio popolo dalla lor parte, poichè lunghi [e prosperi] giorni trovano in essi.	10 Therefore, my people will be converted here, and fullness of days will be found in them.
11 E dicono: «Come [può esser vero] che Dio sa? e v'ha egli conoscenza nell'Altissimo?	11 And they said, “How would God know?” and, “Isn’t there knowledge in high places?”
12 Eccoli lì gli empi!e [son tuttavia] i fortunati del secolo, ammassan ricchezze».	12 Behold, these are sinners, and, abounding in this age, they have obtained riches.
13 E dissi: «Invano adunque ho purificato il mio cuore, e ho lavato nell'innocenza le mie mani;	13 And I said: So then, it is without purpose that I have justified my heart and washed my hands among the innocent.
14 [giacchè] son flagellato tutto il dì, e il mio castigo [comincia sin] dal mattino!».	14 And I have been scourged all day long, and I have received my chastisement in the mornings.
15 Se avessi detto: «[Sì], parlerò così», ecco avrei tradito la stirpe de' tuoi figliuoli.	15 If I were to say that I would explain this: Behold, I would condemn this nation of your sons.
16 [Perciò] andavo riflettendo per intender questo [mistero];[ma] un incubo era davanti agli occhi miei.	16 I considered, so that I might know this. It is a hardship before me,
17 Finchè penetrai nel sacrario di Dio, e compresi la [triste] loro fine.	17 until I may enter into the Sanctuary of God, and understand it to its last part.
18 Davvero, per ingannarli hai [così] disposto [le cose] per loro: tu gli abbatti nel mentre s'esaltano!	18 So, because of deceitfulness, truly, you have placed it before them. While they were being lifted up, you were casting them down.
19 Come vanno in malora a un tratto!si dileguano, periscono per la loro iniquità.	19 How have they been brought to desolation? They have suddenly failed. They have perished because of their iniquity.
20 Come un sogno di chi si sveglia, o Signore, [così] annienti nella tua città, l'immagine loro!	20 As a dream is to those who awaken, O Lord, so will you reduce their image to nothing in your city.
21 Quando acceso era il mio cuore, e perturbati i miei reni,	21 For my heart has been inflamed, and my temperament has been changed.
22 io diventavo un nulla e non capivo niente,	22 And so, I have been reduced to nothing, and I did not know it.
23 ero come un bruto davanti a te! Ma [ora] io son sempre con te:	23 I have become like a beast of burden to you, and I am always with you.
24 tu mi tieni per la mia destrae secondo il tuo volere mi guidi, e [poi] m'accoglierai con gloria.	24 You have held my right hand. And in your will, you have conducted me, and with your glory, you have taken me up.
25 Cos'[altro], infatti, c'è per me nel cielo? e fuori di te che cosa io voglio sulla terra?	25 For what is there for me in heaven? And what do I wish for on earth before you?
26 Vien meno la mia carne e il mio cuore; Dio del mio cuore e mia porzione è Iddio in eterno!	26 My body has failed, and my heart: O God of my heart, and God my portion, into eternity.
27 Perchè ecco, quei che si allontanan da te periranno, in perdizione tu mandi quanti fan divorzio da te.	27 For behold, those who put themselves far from you will perish. You have perished all those who fornicate away from you.
28 Ma buon per me lo stare unito a Dio, porre nel Signore Iddio la mia speranza! per celebrar le tue lodialle porte della città di Sion.	28 But it is good for me to adhere to God, to put my hope in the Lord God, so that I may announce all your prophecies, at the gates of the daughter of Zion.
