Revelation 21

1 I saw the new heaven and the new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea is no more.	1 Después vi un cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva, porque el primer cielo y la primera tierra desaparecieron, y el mar ya no existe más.
2 And I, John, saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.	2 Vi la Ciudad santa, la nueva Jerusalén, que descendía del cielo y venía de Dios, embellecida como una novia preparada para recibir a su esposo.
3 And I heard a great voice from the throne, saying: “Behold the tabernacle of God with men. And he will dwell with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be their God with them.	3 Y oí una voz potente que decía desde el trono: «Esta es la morada de Dios entre los hombres: él habitará con ellos, ellos serán su pueblo, y el mismo Dios estará con ellos.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And death shall be no more. And neither mourning, nor crying out, nor grief shall be anymore. For the first things have passed away.”	4 El secará todas sus lágrimas, y no habrá más muerte, ni pena, ni queja, ni dolor, porque todo lo de antes pasó».
5 And the One who was sitting upon the throne, said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And he said to me, “Write, for these words are entirely faithful and true.”	5 Y el que estaba sentado en el trono dijo: «Yo hago nuevas todas las cosas». Y agregó: «Escribe que estas palabras son verdaderas y dignas de crédito.
6 And he said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To those who thirst, I will give freely from the fountain of the water of life.	6 ¡Ya está! Yo soy el Alfa y la Omega, el Principio y el Fin. Al que tiene sed, yo le daré de beber gratuitamente de la fuente del agua de la vida.
7 Whoever prevails shall possess these things. And I will be his God, and he shall be my son.	7 El vencedor heredará estas cosas, y yo seré su Dios y él será mi hijo.
8 But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and drug users, and idolaters, and all liars, these shall be a part of the pool burning with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.”	8 Pero los cobardes, los incrédulos, los depravados, los asesinos, los lujuriosos, los hechiceros, los idólatras y todos los falsos, tendrán su herencia en el estanque de azufre ardiente, que es la segunda muerte».
9 And one of the seven Angels, those holding the bowls filled with the seven last afflictions, approached and spoke with me, saying: “Come, and I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”	9 Luego se acercó uno de los siete Angeles que tenían las siete copas llenas de las siete últimas plagas, y me dijo: «Ven que te mostraré a la novia, a la esposa del Cordero».
10 And he took me up in spirit to a great and high mountain. And he showed me the Holy City Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,	10 Me llevó en espíritu a una montaña de enorme altura, y me mostró la Ciudad santa, Jerusalén, que descendía del cielo y venía de Dios.
11 having the glory of God. And its light was like that of a precious stone, even like that of the jasper stone or like crystal.	11 La gloria de Dios estaba en ella y resplandecía como la más preciosa de las perlas, como una piedra de jaspe cristalino.
12 And it had a wall, great and high, having twelve gates. And at the gates were twelve Angels. And names were written upon them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.	12 Estaba rodeada por una muralla de gran altura que tenía doce puertas: sobre ellas había doce ángeles y estaban escritos los nombres de las doce tribus de Israel.
13 On the East were three gates, and on the North were three gates, and on the South were three gates, and on the West were three gates.	13 Tres puertas miraban al este, otras tres al norte, tres al sur, y tres al oeste.
14 And the wall of the City had twelve foundations. And upon them were the twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.	14 La muralla de la Ciudad se asentaba sobre doce cimientos, y cada uno de ellos tenía el nombre de uno de los doce Apóstoles del Cordero.
15 And he who was speaking with me was holding a golden measuring reed, in order to measure the City, and its gates and wall.	15 El que me estaba hablando tenía una vara de oro para medir la Ciudad, sus puertos y su muralla.
16 And the city is laid out as a square, and so its length is as great as the width. And he measured the city with the golden reed for twelve thousand stadia, and its length and height and breadth were equal.	16 La Ciudad era cuadrangular: tenía la misma medida de largo que de ancho. Con la vara midió la Ciudad: tenía dos mil doscientos kilómetros de largo, de ancho y de alto.
17 And he measured its wall as one hundred and forty-four cubits, the measure of a man, which is of an Angel.	17 Luego midió la muralla: tenía setenta y dos metros, según la medida humana que utilizaba el Angel.
18 And the structure of its wall was of jasper stone. Yet truly, the city itself was of pure gold, similar to pure glass.	18 La muralla había sido construida con jaspe, y la Ciudad con oro puro, semejante al cristal purificado.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was of jasper, the second was of sapphire, the third was of chalcedony, the fourth was of emerald,	19 Los cimientos de la muralla estaban adornados con toda clase de piedras preciosas: el primer cimiento era de jaspe, el segundo de zafiro, el tercero de ágata, el cuarto de esmeralda,
20 the fifth was of sardonyx, the sixth was of sardius, the seventh was of chrysolite, the eighth was of beryl, the ninth was of topaz, the tenth was of chrysoprasus, the eleventh was of jacinth, the twelfth was of amethyst.	20 el quinto de ónix, el sexto de cornalina, el séptimo de crisólito, el octavo de berilo, el noveno de topacio, el décimo de crisoprasa, el undécimo de jacinto y el duodécimo de amatista.
21 And the twelve gates are twelve pearls, one for each, so that each gate was made from a single pearl. And the main street of the city was of pure gold, similar to transparent glass.	21 Las doce puertas eran doce perlas y cada puerta estaba hecha con una perla enteriza. La plaza de la Ciudad era de oro puro, transparente como el cristal.
22 And I saw no temple in it. For the Lord God Almighty is its temple, and the Lamb.	22 No vi ningún templo en la Ciudad, porque su Templo es el Señor Dios todopoderoso y el Cordero.
23 And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine in it. For the glory of God has illuminated it, and the Lamb is its lamp.	23 Y la Ciudad no necesita la luz del sol ni de la luna, ya que la gloria de Dios la ilumina, y su lámpara es el Cordero.
24 And the nations shall walk by its light. And the kings of the earth shall bring their glory and honor into it.	24 Las naciones caminarán a su luz y los reyes de la tierra le ofrecerán sus tesoros.
25 And its gates shall not be closed throughout the day, for there shall be no night in that place.	25 Sus puertas no se cerrarán durante el día y no existirá la noche en ella.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.	26 Se le entregará la riqueza y el esplendor de las naciones.
27 There shall not enter into it anything defiled, nor anything causing an abomination, nor anything false, but only those who have been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb.	27 Nada impuro podrá entrar en ella, ni tampoco entrarán los que haya practicado la abominación y el engaño. Unicamente podrán entrar los que estén inscritos en el Libro de la Vida del Cordero.
