1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be among you lying teachers, who will introduce divisions of perdition, and they will deny him who bought them, the Lord, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.	1 Hubo también en el pueblo falsos profetas, como habrá entre vosotros falsos maestros que introducirán herejías perniciosas y que, negando al Dueño que los adquirió, atraerán sobre sí una rápida destrucción.
2 And many persons will follow their indulgences; through such persons, the way of truth will be blasphemed.	2 Muchos seguirán su libertinaje y, por causa de ellos, el Camino de la verdad será difamado.
3 And in avarice, they will negotiate about you with false words. Their judgment, in the near future, is not delayed, and their perdition does not sleep.	3 Traficarán con vosotros por codicia, con palabras artificiosas; desde hace tiempo su condenación no está ociosa, ni su perdición dormida.
4 For God did not spare those Angels who sinned, but instead delivered them, as if dragged down by infernal ropes, into the torments of the underworld, to be reserved unto judgment.	4 Pues si Dios no perdonó a los Angeles que pecaron, sino que, precipitándolos en los abismos tenebrosos del Tártaro, los entregó para ser custodiados hasta el Juicio;
5 And he did not spare the original world, but he preserved the eighth one, Noah, the herald of justice, bringing the flood upon the world of the impious.	5 si no perdonó al antiguo mundo, aunque preservó a Noé, heraldo de la justicia, y a otros siete, cuando hizo venir el diluvio sobre un mundo de impíos;
6 And he reduced the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes, condemning them to be overthrown, setting them as an example to anyone who might act impiously.	6 si condenó a la destrucción las ciudades de Sodoma y Gomorra, reduciéndolas a cenizas, poniéndolas como ejemplo para los que en el futuro vivirían impíamente;
7 And he rescued a just man, Lot, who was oppressed by the unjust and lewd behavior of the wicked.	7 y si libró a Lot, el justo, oprimido por la conducta licenciosa de aquellos hombres disolutos
8 For in seeing and in hearing, he was just, though he lived with those who, from day to day, crucified the just soul with works of iniquity.	8 - pues este justo, que vivía en medio de ellos, torturaba día tras día su alma justa por las obras inicuas que veía y oía -
9 Thus, the Lord knows how to rescue the pious from trials, and how to reserve the iniquitous for torments on the day of judgment;	9 es porque el Señor sabe librar de las pruebas a los piadosos y guardar a los impíos para castigarles en el día del Juicio,
10 even more so, those who walk after the flesh in unclean desires, and who despise proper authority. Boldly pleasing themselves, they do not dread to introduce divisions by blaspheming;	10 sobre todo a los que andan tras la carne con apetencias impuras y desprecian al Señorío. Atrevidos y arrogantes, no temen insultar a las Glorias,
11 whereas the Angels, who are greater in strength and virtue, did not bring against themselves such a deplorable judgment.	11 cuando los Angeles, que son superiores en fuerza y en poder, no pronuncian juicio injurioso contra ellas en presencia del Señor.
12 Yet truly, these others, like irrational beasts, naturally fall into traps and into ruin by blaspheming whatever they do not understand, and so they shall perish in their corruption,	12 Pero éstos, como animales irracionales, destinados por naturaleza a ser cazados y muertos, que injurian lo que ignoran, con muerte de animales morirán,
13 receiving the reward of injustice, the fruition of valuing the delights of the day: defilements and stains, overflowing with self-indulgences, taking pleasure in their feasts with you,	13 sufriendo daño en pago del daño que hicieron. Tienen por felicidad el placer de un día; hombres manchados e infames, que se entregan de lleno a los placeres mientras banquetean con vosotros.
14 having eyes full of adultery and of incessant offenses, luring unstable souls, having a heart well-trained in avarice, sons of curses!	14 Tienen los ojos llenos de adulterio, que no se sacian de pecado, seducen a las almas débiles, tienen el corazón ejercitado en la codicia, ¡hijos de maldición!
15 Abandoning the straight path, they wandered astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of iniquity.	15 Abandonando el camino recto, se desviaron y siguieron el camino de Balaam, hijo de Bosor, que amó un salario de iniquidad,
16 Yet truly, he had a correction of his madness: the mute animal under the yoke, which, by speaking with a human voice, forbid the folly of the prophet.	16 pero fue reprendido por su mala acción. Un mudo jumento, hablando con voz humana, impidió la insensatez del profeta.
17 These ones are like fountains without water, and like clouds stirred up by whirlwinds. For them, the mist of darkness is reserved.	17 Estos son fuentes secas y nubes llevadas por el huracán, a quienes está reservada la oscuridad de las tinieblas.
18 For, speaking with the arrogance of vanity, they lure, by the desires of fleshly pleasures, those who are fleeing to some extent, who are being turned from error,	18 Hablando palabras altisonantes, pero vacías, seducen con las pasiones de la carne y el libertinaje a los que acaban de alejarse de los que viven en el error.
19 promising them freedoms, while they themselves are the servants of corruption. For by whatever a man is overcome, of this also is he the servant.	19 Les prometen libertad, mientras que ellos son esclavos de la corrupción, pues uno queda esclavo de aquel que le vence.
20 For if, after taking refuge from the defilements of the world in the understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they again become entangled and overcome by these things, then the latter state becomes worse than the former.	20 Porque si, después de haberse alejado de la impureza del mundo por el conocimiento de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo, se enredan nuevamente en ella y son vencidos, su postrera situación resulta peor que la primera.
21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of justice than, after acknowledging it, to turn away from that holy commandment which was handed on to them.	21 Pues más les hubiera valido no haber conocido el camino de la justicia que, una vez conocido, volverse atrás del santo precepto que le fue transmitido.
22 For the truth of the proverb has happened to them: The dog has returned to his own vomit, and the washed sow has returned to her wallowing in the mud.	22 Les ha sucedido lo de aquel proverbio tan cierto: «el perro vuelve a su vómito» y «la puerca lavada, a revolcarse en el cieno».
