Joshua 13

1 Joshua was old and advanced in age, and the Lord said to him: “You have grown old, and are aged, and a very wide land remains, which has not yet been divided by lot,	1 Giosuè era vecchio e avanzato in età, e il Signore gli disse: « Tu sei di ventato vecchio e attempato, ed è rima sta molta terra non ancor divisa a sorte:
2 specifically, all of Galilee, Philistia, and all of Geshur;	2 tutta la Galilea, il paese dei Filistei, tutto quello di Gessuri,
3 from the muddy river, which irrigates Egypt, as far as the border of Ekron toward the north, the land of Canaan, which is divided among the rulers of Philistia: the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gathites, and the Ekronites;	3 dal torbido fiume che bagna l'Egitto sino ai confini di Accaron, verso settentrione; la terra di Canaan che è divisa tra i cinque re Filistei, quel di Gaza, quel di Azoto, quel di Ascalon, quel di Get, e quello di Accaron;
4 truly, to the south are the Hivites, all the land of Canaan, and Mearah of the Sidonians, as far as Aphek and the borders of the Amorite	4 il mezzodì, ove sono gli Evei; tutta la terra di Canaan e Maara dei Sidoni, sino ad Afeca e ai confini degli Amorrei

6 all who live in the mountains from Lebanon, as far as the waters of Misrephoth, and all the Sidonians. I am the One who will wipe them out, before the face of the sons of Israel. Therefore, let their land become a part of the inheritance of Israel, just as I have instructed you.	6 la terra di quelli che abitano le montagne, dal Libano sino alle acque di Maserefot, e tutti i Sidoni. Ci penserò io a sterminarli dal cospetto dei figli d'Israele; ma intanto deve entrare tutto nella parte dell'eredità d'Israele, come ti ho comandato.
7 And now, divide the land as a possession to the nine tribes, and to the one half tribe of Manasseh.”	7 Or dunque distribuisca la terra da possedersi dalle nove tribù e dalla mezza tribù di Manasse,
8 With them, Reuben and Gad have possessed the land, which Moses, the servant of the Lord, delivered to them beyond the river Jordan, on the eastern side:	8 che l'altra mezza tribù e Ruben e Gad presero già possesso della terra che diede loro Mosè, servo del Signore, di là dal Giordano, ad oriente,
9 from Aroer, which is situated on the bank of the torrent Arnon and in the midst of the valley, and all the plains of Medeba, as far as Dibon;	9 da Aroer, situata sulla riva del torrente Arnon, la metà della valle e tutta la campagna di Medaba, sino a Dibon,
10 and all the cities of Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, even to the borders of the sons of Ammon;	10 e tutte le città di Sehon re degli Amorrei, che regnò in sebon, sino ai confini dei figli di Ammon,
11 and Gilead, as well as the borders of Geshur and Maacati, and all of mount Hermon, and all of Bashan, as far as Salecah;	11 e Galaad e la frontiera di Gessuri e di bacati, e tutto il monte Ermon, e tutto il Basan fino a Saleca,
12 the entire kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned at Ashtaroth and Edrei, (he was among the last of the Rephaim). And Moses struck and destroyed them.	12 tutto il regno di Og in Basan, il quale regnò in Astarot e in Drai e fu l'ultimo dei Refaim. Mosè percosse e distrusse costoro;
13 And the sons of Israel were not willing to destroy Geshur and Maacati, and so they have lived in the midst of Israel, even to the present day.	13 ma i figli d'Israele non vollero disperdere quei di Gessuri e di Macati, i quali dimorano in mezzo ad Israele fino al presente.
14 But to the tribe of Levi, he did not give a possession. Instead, the sacrifices and victims of the Lord, the God of Israel, these are his inheritance, just as he spoke to him.	14 In quanto alla tribù di Levi, Mosè non le diede al cun possesso; perchè i sacrifizi e le vittime del Signore Dio d'Israele sono la sua eredità, come le ha detto il Signore.
15 Therefore, Moses gave a possession to the tribe of the sons of Reuben, according to their families.	15 Mosè diede la sua porzione alla tribù dei figli di Ruben, secondo le loro famiglie.
16 And their border was from Aroer, which is situated on the bank of the torrent Arnon, and in the midst of the valley of the same torrent, with all the flatlands that lead to Medeba;	16 I loro confini furono da Aroer, si tuata sulla riva del torrente Arnon, il mezzo della valle dello stesso torrente, tutta la pianura che va fino a Medaba,

18 and Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,	18 Gassa, Cedimot, Mefaat,

20 Bethpeor, and the descending slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth;	20 Betfogor, Asedot, Fasga, Betiesimot;
21 and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdoms of Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon, whom Moses struck down with the leaders of Midian: Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the commanders of Sihon, inhabitants of the land.	21 tutte le città della pianura; tutti i regni di Sehon re degli Amorrei, che regnò in Esebon e da Mosè fu percosso coi principi di Madian, Evi, Recem, Sur, Hur, Rebe, capitani di Sehon, abitanti di quel paese.
22 And the sons of Israel killed Balaam, the son of Beor, the seer, with the sword, along with the others who were slain.	22 I figli d'Israele fecero morire di spada con tuttu gli altri uccisi, anche l'indovino Balaari figlio di Beor.
23 And the river Jordan was made the border of the sons of Reuben; this is the possession of the Reubenites, by their families, in cities and villages.	23 Il Giordano fu il confine dei figli di Ruben. Queste sono le città e i villaggi dati in possesso ai Rubeniti, secondo le loro famiglie.
24 And Moses gave to the tribe of Gad and his sons, by their families, a possession, of which this is the division:	24 Mosè diede anche alla tribù di Gad e ai di lei figli un territorio di cui ecco le parti:
25 the border of Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and one half part of the land of the sons of Ammon, as far as Aroer, which is opposite Rabbah;	25 Iaser, tutte le città di Galaad, la metà del paese dei figli d'Ammon, sino ad Aroer che è di faccia a Rabba;

29 He also gave, to the one half tribe of Manasseh and to his sons, a possession according to their families,	29 Diede un territorio anche alla mezza tribù di Manasse e ai figli di lei secondo ie loro famiglie;
30 the beginning of which is this: from Mahanaim, all of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Og, the king of Bashan, and all the villages of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty towns;	30 eccone i confini: da Manaim, tutto Basan e tutti i regni di Og re di Basan, tutti i villaggi di Iair nel Basan, sessanta città;

33 But to the tribe of Levi he did not give a possession. For the Lord, the God of Israel, is himself their possession, just as he spoke to him.	33 Ma alla tribù di Levi non diede alcun possesso; perchè il Signore Dio d'Israele è egli stesso il suo possesso, come le disse.
