Galatians 1

1 Paul, an Apostle, not from men and not through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead,	1 Moi, Paul, apôtre, - et pour cela personne ne m’a envoyé ou n’est intervenu, seulement Jésus Christ et Dieu le Père qui l’a ressuscité d’entre les morts;
2 and all the brothers who are with me: to the churches of Galatia.	2 moi et tous les frères qui sont avec moi, nous saluons les Églises de Galatie.
3 Grace and peace to you from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,	3 Recevez grâce et paix de Dieu notre Père et du Seigneur Jésus Christ.
4 who gave himself on behalf of our sins, so that he might deliver us from this present wicked age, according to the will of God our Father.	4 Il a donné sa vie pour nos péchés, pour nous arracher à cette existence misérable, faisant en cela la volonté de Dieu notre Père:
5 To him is glory forever and ever. Amen.	5 Gloire à lui pour les siècles des siècles. Amen!
6 I wonder that you have been so quickly transferred, from him who called you into the grace of Christ, over to another gospel.	6 Je m’étonne que vous passiez si vite de Celui qui vous a appelés par la grâce du Christ, à un autre évangile.
7 For there is no other, except that there are some persons who disturb you and who want to overturn the Gospel of Christ.	7 Mais il n’y en a pas d’autre: il y a seulement des gens qui vous créent des problèmes et qui veulent mettre à l’envers l’évangile du Christ.
8 But if anyone, even we ourselves or an Angel from Heaven, were to preach to you a gospel other than the one that we have preached to you, let him be anathema.	8 Mais je dis: Dehors! Et cela, même si c’était nous ou quelque ange de Dieu qui venait vous donner un autre évangile que celui qui vous a été annoncé.
9 Just as we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone has preached a gospel to you, other than that which you have received, let him be anathema.	9 Et je redis: Dehors! Anathème! pour celui qui vous présente l’Évangile autrement que vous ne l’avez reçu.
10 For am I now persuading men, or God? Or, am I seeking to please men? If I still were pleasing men, then I would not be a servant of Christ.	10 Faut-il être bien vu des hommes, ou de Dieu? Dois-je chercher à plaire aux hommes? Si je cherchais à plaire aux hommes, je ne serais pas serviteur du Christ.
11 For I would have you understand, brothers, that the Gospel which has been preached by me is not according to man.	11 Je vous le rappelle, frères, l’évangile avec lequel je vous ai évangélisés n’est pas d’origine humaine.
12 And I did not receive it from man, nor did I learn it, except through the revelation of Jesus Christ.	12 Je ne l’ai pas reçu d’un homme; on ne me l’a pas enseigné, mais je l’ai par une révélation du Christ Jésus.
13 For you have heard of my former behavior within Judaism: that, beyond measure, I persecuted the Church of God and fought against Her.	13 Vous savez ce qu’a été mon attitude autrefois dans le Judaïsme: j’ai persécuté au maximum l’Église de Dieu et j’ai voulu la déraciner.
14 And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my equals among my own kind, having proven to be more abundant in zeal toward the traditions of my fathers.	14 J’étais plus avancé dans le Judaïsme que la plupart de ceux de mon âge et j’étais farouchement attaché aux traditions de mes pères.
15 But, when it pleased him who, from my mother’s womb, had set me apart, and who has called me by his grace,	15 Mais un jour, il a plu à celui qui m’avait mis à part dès le ventre de ma mère de m’appeler par pure bonté
16 to reveal his Son within me, so that I might evangelize him among the Gentiles, I did not next seek the consent of flesh and blood.	16 et de révéler en moi son Fils pour que je le proclame parmi les nations païennes. Alors, je n’ai consulté personne,
17 Neither did I go to Jerusalem, to those who were Apostles before me. Instead, I went into Arabia, and next I returned to Damascus.	17 et je ne suis pas monté à Jérusalem pour y rencontrer ceux qui étaient apôtres avant moi, mais je suis parti pour l’Arabie et de là je suis revenu à Damas.
18 And then, after three years, I went to Jerusalem to see Peter; and I stayed with him for fifteen days.	18 Plus tard, au bout de trois ans, je suis monté à Jérusalem pour y rencontrer Képhas et je suis resté quinze jours avec lui.
19 But I saw none of the other Apostles, except James, the brother of the Lord.	19 Mais je n’ai vu aucun autre apôtre, seulement Jacques, le frère du Seigneur.
20 Now what I am writing to you: behold, before God, I am not lying.	20 Et quand je vous écris cela, je vous affirme devant Dieu que je ne mens pas.
21 Next, I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.	21 Après cela je suis parti vers la Syrie et la Cilicie.
22 But I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea, which were in Christ.	22 Les Églises chrétiennes de Judée ne me connaissaient pas de visage;
23 For they had only heard that: “He, who formerly persecuted us, now evangelizes the faith which he once fought.”	23 on y disait seulement: "Celui qui nous persécutait et voulait déraciner la foi est maintenant en train de la prêcher.”
24 And they glorified God in me.	24 Et ils rendaient grâces à Dieu à mon sujet.
