1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called as an Apostle, separated for the Gospel of God,	1 Paul, serviteur du Christ Jésus, apôtre par vocation, mis à part pour annoncer l'Evangile de Dieu,
2 which he had promised beforehand, through his Prophets, in the Holy Scriptures,	2 que d'avance il avait promis par ses prophètes dans les saintes Ecritures,
3 about his Son, who was made for him from the offspring of David according to the flesh,	3 concernant son Fils, issu de la lignée de David selon la chair,
4 the Son of God, who was predestined in virtue according to the Spirit of sanctification from the resurrection of the dead, our Lord Jesus Christ,	4 établi Fils de Dieu avec puissance selon l'Esprit de sainteté, par sa résurrection des morts, JésusChrist notre Seigneur,
5 through whom we have received grace and Apostleship, for the sake of his name, for the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles,	5 par qui nous avons reçu grâce et apostolat pour prêcher, à l'honneur de son nom, l'obéissance de lafoi parmi tous les païens,
6 from whom you also have been called by Jesus Christ:	6 dont vous faites partie, vous aussi, appelés de Jésus Christ,
7 To all who are at Rome, the beloved of God, called as saints. Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.	7 à tous les bien-aimés de Dieu qui sont à Rome, aux saints par vocation, à vous grâce et paix de parDieu notre Père et le Seigneur Jésus Christ.
8 Certainly, I give thanks to my God, through Jesus Christ, first for all of you, because your faith is being announced throughout the entire world.	8 Et d'abord je remercie mon Dieu par Jésus Christ à votre sujet à tous, de ce qu'on publie votre foidans le monde entier.
9 For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit by the Gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I have kept a remembrance of you	9 Car Dieu m'est témoin, à qui je rends un culte spirituel en annonçant l'Evangile de son Fils, avecquelle continuité je fais mémoire de vous
10 always in my prayers, pleading that in some way, at some time, I may have a prosperous journey, within the will of God, to come to you.	10 et demande constamment dans mes prières d'avoir enfin une occasion favorable, si Dieu le veut,d'aller jusqu'à vous.
11 For I long to see you, so that I may impart to you a certain spiritual grace to strengthen you,	11 Car j'ai un vif désir de vous voir, afin de vous communiquer quelque don spirituel, pour vousaffermir,
12 specifically, to be consoled together with you through that which is mutual: your faith and mine.	12 ou plutôt éprouver le réconfort parmi vous de notre foi commune à vous et à moi.
13 But I want you to know, brothers, that I have often intended to come to you, (though I have been hindered even to the present time) so that I might obtain some fruit among you also, just as also among the other Gentiles.	13 Je ne veux pas vous laisser ignorer, frères, que j'ai souvent projeté de me rendre chez vous -- maisj'en fus empêché jusqu'ici -- afin de recueillir aussi quelque fruit parmi vous comme parmi les autres païens.
14 To the Greeks and to the uncivilized, to the wise and to the foolish, I am in debt.	14 Je me dois aux Grecs comme aux barbares, aux savants comme aux ignorants:
15 So within me there is a prompting to evangelize to you also who are at Rome.	15 de là mon empressement à vous porter l'Evangile à vous aussi, habitants de Rome.
16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel. For it is the power of God unto salvation for all believers, the Jew first, and the Greek.	16 Car je ne rougis pas de l'Evangile: il est une force de Dieu pour le salut de tout homme qui croit,du Juif d'abord, puis du Grec.
17 For the justice of God is revealed within it, by faith unto faith, just as it was written: “For the just one lives by faith.”	17 Car en lui la justice de Dieu se révèle de la foi à la foi, comme il est écrit: Le juste vivra de la foi.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven over every impiety and injustice among those men who fend off the truth of God with injustice.	18 En effet, la colère de Dieu se révèle du haut du ciel contre toute impiété et toute injustice deshommes, qui tiennent la vérité captive dans l'injustice;
19 For what is known about God is manifest in them. For God has manifested it to them.	19 car ce qu'on peut connaître de Dieu est pour eux manifeste: Dieu en effet le leur a manifesté.
20 For unseen things about him have been made conspicuous, since the creation of the world, being understood by the things that were made; likewise his everlasting virtue and divinity, so much so that they have no excuse.	20 Ce qu'il a d'invisible depuis la création du monde se laisse voir à l'intelligence à travers sesoeuvres, son éternelle puissance et sa divinité, en sorte qu'ils sont inexcusables;
21 For although they had known God, they did not glorify God, nor give thanks. Instead, they became weakened in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was obscured.	21 puisque, ayant connu Dieu, ils ne lui ont pas rendu comme à un Dieu gloire ou actions de grâces,mais ils ont perdu le sens dans leurs raisonnements et leur coeur inintelligent s'est enténébré:
22 For, while proclaiming themselves to be wise, they became foolish.	22 dans leur prétention à la sagesse, ils sont devenus fous
23 And they exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of flying things, and of four-legged beasts, and of serpents.	23 et ils ont changé la gloire du Dieu incorruptible contre une représentation, simple imaged'hommes corruptibles, d'oiseaux, de quadrupèdes, de reptiles.
24 For this reason, God handed them over to the desires of their own heart for impurity, so that they afflicted their own bodies with indignities among themselves.	24 Aussi Dieu les a-t-il livrés selon les convoitises de leur coeur à une impureté où ils avilissent eux-mêmes leurs propres corps;
25 And they exchanged the truth of God for a lie. And they worshipped and served the creature, rather than the Creator, who is blessed for all eternity. Amen.	25 eux qui ont échangé la vérité de Dieu contre le mensonge, adoré et servi la créature de préférenceau Créateur, qui est béni éternellement! Amen.
26 Because of this, God handed them over to shameful passions. For example, their females have exchanged the natural use of the body for a use which is against nature.	26 Aussi Dieu les a-t-il livrés à des passions avilissantes: car leurs femmes ont échangé les rapportsnaturels pour des rapports contre nature;
27 And similarly, the males also, abandoning the natural use of females, have burned in their desires for one another: males doing with males what is disgraceful, and receiving within themselves the recompense that necessarily results from their error.	27 pareillement les hommes, délaissant l'usage naturel de la femme, ont brûlé de désir les uns pourles autres, perpétrant l'infamie d'homme à homme et recevant en leurs personnes l'inévitable salaire de leurégarement.
28 And since they did not prove to have God by knowledge, God handed them over to a morally depraved way of thinking, so that they might do those things which are not fitting:	28 Et comme ils n'ont pas jugé bon de garder la vraie connaissance de Dieu, Dieu les a livrés à leuresprit sans jugement, pour faire ce qui ne convient pas:
29 having been completely filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness; full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malice, gossiping;	29 remplis de toute injustice, de perversité, de cupidité, de malice; ne respirant qu'envie, meurtre,dispute, fourberie, malignité; diffamateurs,
30 slanderous, hateful toward God, abusive, arrogant, self-exalting, devisers of evil, disobedient to parents,	30 détracteurs, ennemis de Dieu, insulteurs, orgueilleux, fanfarons, ingénieux au mal, rebelles à leursparents,
31 foolish, disorderly; without affection, without fidelity, without mercy.	31 insensés, déloyaux, sans coeur, sans pitié;
32 And these, though they had known the justice of God, did not understand that those who act in such a manner are deserving of death, and not only those who do these things, but also those who consent to what is done.	32 connaissant bien pourtant le verdict de Dieu qui déclare dignes de mort les auteurs de pareillesactions, non seulement ils les font, mais ils approuvent encore ceux qui les commettent.
