Deuteronomy 33

1 This is the blessing, with which Moses, the man of God, blessed the sons of Israel before his death.	1 Questa è la benedizione, nella quale bene disse Moisè, uomo di Dio, i figliuoli d'Israel innanzi ch' egli morisse.
2 And he said: “The Lord went forth from Sinai, and he arose for us from Seir. He appeared from Mount Paran, and thousands of holy ones were with him. The fiery law was in his right hand.	2 E disse: Iddio Signore verrà (del monte) di Sinai, e di Seir sì ci apparì; egli apparì del monte di Faran, e con lui migliaia di santi; nella mano sua ritta sì era legge di fuoco.
3 He loved the people; all the holy ones are in his hand. And those who approach his feet shall receive from his doctrine.	3 Egli amò tutti i popoli; tutti quanti i santi sono nella mano sua; e quegli che s'approssimano a' suoi piedi, sì piglieranno (del suo ammaestramento e) della sua dottrina.
4 Moses instructed us in the law, the inheritance of the multitude of Jacob.	4 Moisè sici (comandò, e diede) la legge, a Iacob la ereditade della moltitudine.
5 The king shall have great righteousness, at the gathering of the princes of the people with the tribes of Israel.	5 Egli sarà dinanzi a rettissimo re, insieme raunati i principi del popolo colle schiatte d'Israel.
6 Let Ruben live, and not die, and may he be small in number.”	6 Viva Ruben, e non muoia; e sia picciolo di numero (di gente).
7 This is the blessing of Judah. “Hear, O Lord, the voice of Judah, and lead him to his people. His hands shall fight for him, and he shall be his helper against his adversaries.”	7 Questa è la benedizione di Giuda: odi, Signore Iddio, la voce di Giuda, e menalo al popolo suo; le sue mani combatteranno per lui, e saranno in aiuto suo contro a' suoi (nemici e) avversarii.
8 Likewise, to Levi he said: “Your perfection and your doctrine are for your holy man, whom you have proven by temptation, and whom you have judged at the Waters of Contradiction.	8 E a Levi si disse: la tua perfezione e la tua dottrina all'uomo santo tuo, il quale provasti nella (sua) tentazione, e all'acque della contraddizione (e della mormorazione) giudicasti.
9 He has said to his father and to his mother, ‘I do not know you,’ and to his brothers, ‘I will disregard you.’ And they have not known their own sons. Such as these have kept your word and have observed your covenant:	9 Il quale (Levi) disse al padre e alla madre sua: non vi conosco (e non so chi voi vi siete), e alli fratelli suoi: io non so chi vi siete; e non sep pono chi si fossono i loro figliuoli. Costoro sì (man darono e) servarono la parola tua, e il tuo patto servarono,
10 your judgments, O Jacob, and your law, O Israel. They shall place incense before your fury and a holocaust upon your altar.	10 i tuoi giudicii, o Iacob, e la tua legge, o Israel; loro porranno l'incenso nel tuo furore, e lo olocausto (e l'offerta e il sacrificio) sopra il tuo altare.
11 O Lord, bless his strength, and receive the works of his hands. Strike the backs of his enemies, and do not let those who hate him rise up.”	11 Signore, benedici la fortezza sua, e ricevi l'opere delle sue mani. Percuoti (e batti) i dorsi dei suoi nemici; non si levi chi l'hae avuto in odio.
12 And to Benjamin he said: “The most beloved of the Lord will live confidently in him. He shall remain all day long, as if in a bridal chamber, and he shall rest amid her arms.”	12 E disse a Beniamin: l’amoroso di Dio Signore (istà e) abita sicuramente con lui; e quasi tutto di istarà nel suo luogo secreto e delicato, e si riposerà tra le sue spalle.
13 Likewise, to Joseph he said: “His land shall be from the blessing of the Lord, from the fruits of heaven, and from the dew, and from the abyss which lies below,	13 E a Iosef sì disse: la terra sua si è della be nedizione di Dio Signore, de' frutti del cielo, e della rugiada e dell' abisso che sta di sotto,
14 from the fruits of the crops under the sun and the moon,	14 de' frutti e de' pomi del sole e della luna,
15 from the heights of the ancient mountains, from the fruits of the everlasting hills,	15 e delle cime de monti antiqui, de' pomi dei monti eterni,
16 and from the fruits of the earth with all its plenitude. May the blessing of him who appeared in the bush, settle upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of the Nazarite among his brothers.	16 delle biade della terra, e di ogni cosa che piena venga. La benedizione, venga sopra il capo di Iosef, di colui che apparì nel pruno del fuoco (cioè ch' era acceso, e non si consumava), e sopra il capo (venga) del Nazareo che sarà tra' suoi fratelli.
17 His excellence is like that of a first-born bull. His horns are like the horns of a rhinoceros; he shall brandish these against the Gentiles, even to the ends of the earth. These are the multitudes of Ephraim, and these the thousands of Manasseh.”	17 La sua bellezza, siccome del toro primoge nito (che in prima nasce); le sue corna come d'uni cornio sono; per queste corna percuoterà tutte le genti, insino ai termini di tutta quanta la terra. Queste sono le moltitudini di Efraim, e queste sono le migliaia di Manasse.
18 And to Zebulun he said: “Rejoice, O Zebulun, in your departure, and Issachar, in your tabernacles.	18 E disse a Zabulon: nella uscita tua rallie grati; e tu, Issacar, ne' tabernacoli tuoi.
19 They shall summon the peoples to the mountain. There, they shall immolate the victims of justice, who feed on the flood of the sea, as if on milk, and on the hidden treasures of the sands.”	19 Costoro chiameranno i popoli a' monti, e qui faranno sacrificii di giustizia; i quali succhieranno (e beranno) il latte, quasi come abbondanze d'onde di mare, e' tesori che sono nascosti nell'arena (del mare).
20 And to Gad he said: “Blessed is Gad in his breadth. He has rested like a lion, and he has seized the arm and the top of the head.	20 E disse a Gad: benedetto in larghezza (e in ampiezza) Gad; siccome leone si riposoe, e sì pigliò il braccio e il capo.
21 And he has seen his own pre-eminence, which his teacher has stored up as his portion. He was with the princes of the people, and he accomplished the justices of the Lord, and his judgment with Israel.”	21 E vide il suo principato, che nella sua parte era riposto il dottore; si ficcoe colli principi del popolo, e fece la giustizia del Signore, e il suo giudicio con esso Israel.
22 Likewise, to Dan he said: “Dan is a young lion. He shall flow plentifully from Bashan.”	22 E a Dan disse: Dan, come uno catello di leone, sì gli uscirà largamente di Basan.
23 And to Naphtali he said: “Naphtali shall enjoy abundance, and he shall be full of the blessings of the Lord. He shall possess the sea and the Meridian.”	23 E a Neftali disse: Neftali si avrà frutto di grande abbondanza, e sarà pieno della benedizione di Dio; la mattina e di mezzodì sì possederà (e terrà).
24 Likewise, to Asher he said: “Let Asher be blessed with sons. Let him be pleasing to his brothers, and let him dip his foot in oil.	24 E ad Aser sì disse: benedetto ne' figliuoli di Aser; sia piacente a' suoi fratelli, e sì intinga nell'olio il piede.
25 His shoe shall be of iron and of brass. As were the days of your youth, so also shall be your old age.	25 È il suo calzamento ferro e metallo; come i dì della tua gioventù, così nella tua vecchiezza.
26 There is no other god like the God of the most righteous one. He who rides upon the heavens is your helper. His magnificence scatters the clouds.	26 Non è alcuno altro Iddio, come Iddio salitore direttissimo (e ritto) del cielo; il quale è tuo aiutatore. Per la sua magnificenzia i nuvoli vanno in quà e in là.
27 His habitation is above, and the everlasting arms are below. He shall cast out the enemy before your face, and he shall say: ‘Be utterly broken!’	27 Il suo abitacolo (e la sua abitazione) si è di sopra, e di sotto le braccia sempiterne; egli caccerà dinanzi alla tua faccia il tuo nemico, e diragli: (vieni meno; e) cadi a terra.
28 Israel shall live in confidence and alone, as the eye of Jacob in a land of grain and of wine; and the heavens shall be misty with dew.	28 E Israel (solo) abiterà sicuramente e solo. Gli occhii di Iacob diventeranno iscuri nella terra del grano e del vino e nella rugiada del cielo.
29 Blessed are you, O Israel. Who is like you, the people who are saved by the Lord? He is the shield of your assistance and the sword of your glory. Your enemies will refuse to acknowledge you, and so you shall tread upon their necks.”	29 Beato se tu, o Israel; o popolo, chi è simigliante a te, il quale ti salvi in Dio Signore? Lo scudo dello tuo aiuto e coltello della tua gloria; i tuoi nemici sì ti negheranuo, e tu istarai a calcare i loro colli.
