1 And after some days, he again entered into Capernaum.	1 Rientrato dopo alcuni giorni a Cafarnao, si venne a sapere che era in casa
2 And it was heard that he was in the house. And so many gathered that there was no room left, not even at the door. And he spoke the word to them.	2 e vi accorsero in così grande numero che non vi era più spazio, nemmeno davanti alla porta, mentre egli annunciava la parola.
3 And they came to him, bringing a paralytic, who was being carried by four men.	3 Giunsero pure alcuni che accompagnavano un paralitico, sostenuto da quattro uomini.
4 And when they were not able to present him to him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was. And opening it, they lowered down the stretcher on which the paralytic was lying.	4 Ma non potendo avvicinarsi a lui a causa della folla, scoperchiarono il tetto sul punto ove egli si trovava e, praticato un foro, calarono giù il lettuccio su cui giaceva il paralitico.
5 Then, when Jesus had seen their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”	5 Gesù, allora, vedendo la loro fede, disse al paralitico: "Figliolo, ti sono rimessi i tuoi peccati!".
6 But some of the scribes were sitting in that place and thinking in their hearts:	6 Or vi erano là alcuni scribi che, stando seduti, pensavano nei loro cuori:
7 “Why is this man speaking in this way? He is blaspheming. Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”	7 "Perché costui parla in tal modo? Egli bestemmia! Chi può rimettere i peccati, se non Dio solo?".
8 At once, Jesus, realizing in his spirit that they were thinking this within themselves, said to them: “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?	8 Ma Gesù, avendo conosciuto subito nel suo spirito che così pensavano, dice loro: "Perché pensate tali cose nei vostri cuori?
9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up, take up your stretcher, and walk?’	9 Che è più facile dire al paralitico: "Ti sono rimessi i tuoi peccati", oppure dire: "Sorgi, prendi il tuo lettuccio e cammina"?
10 But so that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he said to the paralytic:	10 Ora, affinché sappiate che il Figlio dell'uomo ha potestà di rimettere i peccati sulla terra - dice al paralitico: -
11 “I say to you: Rise up, take up your stretcher, and go into your house.”	11 Dico a te: sorgi, prendi il tuo lettuccio e vattene a casa".
12 And immediately he got up, and lifting up his stretcher, he went away in the sight of them all, so that they all wondered. And they honored God, by saying, “We have never seen anything like this.”	12 Allora quello si alzò, prese subito il lettuccio e se ne uscì alla presenza di tutti; sicché tutti ne restarono stupefatti e lodavano Dio dicendo: "Non abbiamo mai visto nulla di simile!".
13 And he departed again to the sea. And the entire crowd came to him, and he taught them.	13 Uscito di nuovo lungo la riva del mare, tutta la gente andava da lui ed egli la istruiva.
14 And as he was passing by, he saw Levi of Alphaeus, sitting at the customs office. And he said to him, “Follow me.” And rising up, he followed him.	14 Andando più avanti, vide Levi, figlio di Alfeo, che stava seduto al banco dei gabellieri e gli disse: "Séguimi!". E quello, alzatosi, lo seguì.
15 And it happened that, as he sat at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners sat at table together with Jesus and his disciples. For those who followed him were many.	15 Or avvenne che mentre egli stava a tavola in casa di lui, molti pubblicani e peccatori si erano seduti insieme a Gesù e ai suoi discepoli, giacché erano molti quelli che lo seguivano.
16 And the scribes and the Pharisees, seeing that he ate with tax collectors and sinners, said to his disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”	16 Gli scribi dei farisei, vedendo che egli mangiava assieme ai peccatori e ai pubblicani, dicevano ai suoi discepoli: "Perché mangia assieme ai pubblicani e ai peccatori?".
17 Jesus, having heard this, said to them: “The healthy have no need of a doctor, but those who have maladies do. For I came not to call the just, but sinners.”	17 Ma egli, udito ciò, rispose loro: "Non sono i sani che hanno bisogno del medico, ma gli ammalati. Non sono venuto a chiamare i giusti, ma i peccatori".
18 And the disciples of John, and the Pharisees, were fasting. And they arrived and said to him, “Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?”	18 In quel tempo i discepoli di Giovanni e i farisei stavano facendo un digiuno. Allora vengono alcuni e gli dicono: "Perché i discepoli di Giovanni e i discepoli dei farisei digiunano, mentre i tuoi discepoli non digiunano?".
19 And Jesus said to them: “How can the sons of the wedding fast while the groom is still with them? During whatever time they have the groom with them, they are not able to fast.	19 Rispose loro Gesù: "Possono forse gli invitati a nozze digiunare mentre lo sposo è ancora con loro? Per tutto il tempo che hanno lo sposo con loro, non possono digiunare.
20 But the days will arrive when the groom will be taken away from them, and then they shall fast, in those days.	20 Verrà il tempo, tuttavia, in cui lo sposo sarà loro tolto via, e allora, in quel giorno, digiuneranno.
21 No one sews a patch of new cloth onto an old garment. Otherwise, the new addition pulls away from the old, and the tear becomes worse.	21 Nessuno cuce una toppa di panno grezzo su un vestito vecchio; altrimenti il panno nuovo, che è stato aggiunto, rompe quello vecchio e lo strappo diventa peggiore.
22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the wineskins, and the wine will pour out, and the wineskins will be lost. Instead, new wine must be put into new wineskins.”	22 Similmente nessuno mette vino nuovo in otri vecchi, ma vino nuovo in otri nuovi; altrimenti il vino fa scoppiare gli otri e così si perdono e vino e otri".
23 And again, while the Lord was walking through the ripe grain on the Sabbath, his disciples, as they advanced, began to separate the ears of grains.	23 Or mentre egli, di sabato, passava attraverso i campi seminati, i suoi discepoli durante il cammino si misero a raccogliere le spighe.
24 But the Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbaths?”	24 I farisei, perciò, gli dissero: "Guarda! Perché fanno ciò che di sabato non è lecito?".
25 And he said to them: “Have you never read what David did, when he had need and was hungry, both he and those who were with him?	25 Rispose loro: "Non avete mai letto ciò che fece Davide, quando si trovò nel bisogno e tanto lui quanto i suoi compagni avevano fame?
26 How he went into the house of God, under the high priest Abiathar, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it was not lawful to eat, except for the priests, and how he gave it to those who were with him?”	26 Come, cioè, al tempo del sommo sacerdote Abiatàr entrò nella casa di Dio e mangiò i pani sacri, che non possono mangiare se non i sacerdoti, e ne diede pure ai suoi compagni?".
27 And he said to them: “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.	27 E diceva loro: "Il sabato è fatto per l'uomo e non l'uomo per il sabato.
28 And so, the Son of man is Lord, even of the Sabbath.”	28 Pertanto il Figlio dell'uomo è padrone anche del sabato".
